CLAYCORD NOTE: This story was previously posted on Jan. 16. We are re-posting because we are getting questions on a daily basis asking why these trailers are in Concord. Remember, it’s important to read Claycord.com every single day to stay informed!
As many of you might have noticed, there are about five Center for Disease Control (CDC) trailers in the parking lot of the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Concord Ave. in Concord.
The trailers, according to the CDC, are there because of a national health survey that is currently underway in Contra Costa County.
The following information is from the CDC:
The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), the most comprehensive survey of the health and nutritional status of the U.S. population is coming to Contra Costa, CA beginning in early January.
Each year, 5,000 lucky residents across the nation have the chance to participate in the latest National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“NHANES serves as the nation’s ‘health check-up,’ going into communities to collect health information throughout the country,” said CDC Director Thomas Frieden. “The survey is a unique resource for health information, and without it we would lack important knowledge about major health conditions.”
For the past 50 years, NHANES has had a prominent role in improving the health of all people living in the U.S. Public health officials, legislators, and physicians use the information gathered in NHANES to develop sound health policies, direct and design health programs and services, and expand the health knowledge for the nation. NHANES findings provide critical health-related information on a number of issues such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In addition, NHANES data are used to produce national references and are used to create standardized growth charts for pediatricians across the country.
Everyone in the U.S., from babies yet to be born to the elderly, has benefited from the information gathered by NHANES. The comprehensive data collected by NHANES has a far reaching and significant impact on everything from the quality of the air we breathe, to the vaccinations you get from your doctor, to the emergence of low-fat and “light” foods on the shelves of your grocery store. Now, an NHANES team of health professionals, nutritionists and health technicians is heading toward Contra Costa and wants everyone who is lucky enough to be selected for the survey to agree to participate.
Residents will have an invitation-only opportunity to participate in NHANES. Individuals selected for the NHANES program represent the U.S. population covering all ages, races, and ethnicities. Respondents first participate in a health interview conducted in the respondent’s home followed by a health examination that takes place in one of three mobile examination centers.
No medical care is provided directly in the mobile examination center, but a report on physical findings is given to each participant along with an explanation from survey medical staff. The various tests and procedures performed depend on the age and gender of the participant. All information collected in the survey is kept strictly confidential and privacy is protected by public law.
Why Should Every Eligible Resident Participate in NHANES?
- All participants receive a free and confidential health and nutrition evaluation.
- Individuals who agree to participate will receive compensation for their time and travel expenses of up to $125.
- Your participation can help develop and evolve national health programs and policies.
- If you are selected, You will help make a difference in our nation’s health!

Don’t be fooled! Those trailers are full of flame throwers and hazmat suits! The recent H1N1 outbreak has them going for full containment!!!
Another way for the government to keep tabs on you. Big brother is watching beware.
is it to check radiation levels in our waters
as a result of the Fukushima Nuclear
disaster, that may exist in our food supply,
Oooooh?
And on another thread, @Ted K, the
reference is from Married with children.
I believe it was Ted that offered 10$’s.
But I think he cut off the comments so he
did not have to pay up, LOL ; )
Thanks for the info Mayor. I’ve been wondering for a couple of days now when I first noticed the trailers on my daily commute.
Usually the sick people will sign up for things like this. Everyone is different with different genes, so it’s usually worthless to set charts and guidelines for everybody. Just take care of yourself and don’t worry about the what works for someone else.
you mean they aren’t trying to cover up the zombie apocalypse?
Ebola hemorrhagic fever (Ebola HF) is a severe, often-fatal disease in humans and nonhuman primates (monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees) that has appeared sporadically since its initial recognition in 1976.
H1N1 is on the loose, and this is why. They are experimenting with the Bay Area population…
Conspiracies, conspiracies everwhere! YOU get a conspiracy, YOU get a conspiracy, EVERYONE gets a conspiracy!
Is it true they are setting up a FEMA camp in north concord too?
Finally they are going to put the empty weapon station to good use.
Prepare to be relocated and isolated “for your own safety”!
Are YOU within six degrees of seperation of patient ZERO?
Will they be requiring mandatory vaccination of “at risk” individuals?
Are they going to set up a hotline to let people anonymously turn in their neighbors who are sick?
Where does this slippery slope end?
If a doctor prescribes Lipitor, run!
free health eval and paid for doing so …….the monument corridor is obviously their intention full of entitled and handout lemmings…..joking of course but needs to be watched closely as their description does sound like a last line of defense to full blown epidemic
Well, for everyone that forgot what NORMAL skies look like – Sunday through Today is a prime example. I don’t know why the Geo-engineering / Weather modification has ceased, but I’m glad.
.
LOL, government guinea pigs? Good luck with that – you might want to research how that worked with syphilis and some African Americans. It’s called the Tuskegee Study. Look it up before you volunteer like a MORON.
their quote …..”wants everyone who is lucky enough to be selected for the survey to agree to participate”. I do believe that is from several movies dealing with mass infection ….be safe and watch your backs they are here for a reason no one rolls up bunch of trailers for nothing and then practically… sternly…. urges you to comply. SCARY
I avoid government trailers out of habit. I don’t know what goes in ’em but nothing good ever comes out of ’em. As my grand-pappy used to say about the Portuguese.
Racist bastid’, he was. Rest his weary soul.
If they are lucky they won’t be broken into or outright stolen.
This is the beginning of the end !
Lock and load !
And hope you have been really nice to your neighbors that have prepared for this.
@ Atticus—15
YOUR GRAND-PAPPY WAS RACIST? NO WAY! NO WAY!
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree……
Atticus calling his grandfather a racist? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
Unfortunately, it’s generational. The cycle can be broken.
while scanning the story are “lucky” and “invitation only”. Those words are as comforting from the government as “I am from the government and I am here to help”.
Scares the crap out of me.
If invited I won’t go, I am not feeling lucky at all.
Government trucks?? We’re doomed.
Just trucks full of Body Bags! Getting Ready to Bag Us Up. Seriously, I know of No One “Invited”.
Oh wait, I bet Michele is in one of them, spying on us so we don’t eat sweet stuff, or fatty stuff. What did she serve at her birthday party??
Our tax dollars at work,
Yes, our tax dollars at work, for sure. And they need 5 semi trailers for this??? I would bet it has something to do with Obamacare.
The health studies, to which we should pay attention, are the ones of the Seventh-day Adventist population. All of the health studies that have studied SDA show that their vegetarian, no drinking, no smoking, no drugs and healthy outdoor excercise makes them the healthiest, long-lived group on the planet. Fewer instances of cancer, heart disease, dementia, etc. We’re not SDA, but appreciate the Godly, healthy living and veggie lifestyle.
SDA s are not necessarily vegetarians. No pork or shell fish . They are healthy folks though.
CDC trailers are not NEARLY as scary as DHS trailers.
My horse trailer is kinda scary… aint cleaned it in months. Lol
