The Water Cooler – Something You’ve Always Wanted

January 20, 2014 12:00 pm · 58 comments

The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it!

The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon!

Today’s question:

What is something you’ve always wanted, but don’t yet have?

Talk about it….

Something I’ve always wanted, I finally have.

I’ve always wanted out of the hood. I’ve lived in Clayton over a year.

I MADE IT OUT!

A wife that knows how to roll up a garden hose when she’s done. (Love you honey)

24 Mr John January 20, 2014 at 3:13 PM

If you’re unhappy in your relationship, you have only yourself to blame. Only you control your relationships.

What I want: More time.

25 Ted K., SuperMax January 20, 2014 at 3:29 PM

A six-car garage and attached workshop… That’s the near-term goal.

26 It'sJustMe January 20, 2014 at 3:49 PM

I have everything I want.

27 running girl January 20, 2014 at 3:49 PM

Someone to protect me, someone who sees me and doesn’t theaten to take away the things I hold most dear.

28 Lucy January 20, 2014 at 3:57 PM

My parents, family & friends who have passed…miss them WAY too much!

29 Incognito January 20, 2014 at 4:00 PM

I wish my mother would call me once in a while… and when I do talk to her, I wish she would once in a while ask how my life is, how I am doing, what I am doing, etc., and not just talk about the weather. It would be nice if both my parents were more interested in all of their children. I find myself envious of my friends’ relationships with their parents. Time is slowing running out… I know I’ve missed out, and so have my parents.

30 itsme January 20, 2014 at 4:10 PM

A fabulous man!

31 Anon January 20, 2014 at 4:16 PM

“a man who cooks, cleans, is emotionally supportive and loves sex.”

He is getting it elsewhere as you will not do what he likes

32 Anon777 January 20, 2014 at 4:43 PM

Enough money to not stress on bills and think I can retire one day instead of knowing I will work until I die.

33 Working Stiff January 20, 2014 at 4:44 PM

To retire so I can move far away from the Bay Area.

34 Chevrolet girl January 20, 2014 at 5:12 PM

35 Elwood January 20, 2014 at 5:25 PM

A date with Scarlett Johansson.

36 Angelica January 20, 2014 at 5:26 PM

Stress free parenting! Can I “order it” online, maybe Amazon?

37 Atticus Thraxx January 20, 2014 at 5:31 PM

I wish I had the power to grant all your wishes, especially the lonely.

38 Johnny got a gun January 20, 2014 at 5:32 PM

A M4 with a couple 30 round mags and about 2000 rounds of 5.56.

Also a CCW would be nice (not for the M4 of course).

39 John Davis January 20, 2014 at 5:33 PM

A bigger tool =) hehehe

40 Dr. Jellyfinger January 20, 2014 at 6:25 PM

Dreamer #10 – That’s totally me you’re describing, but I have to ask, you are a chick… right?

41 Dr. Jellyfinger January 20, 2014 at 6:28 PM

I’m not kidding. I made it all the way to the alter once when I got the “There’s something I ought to mention” whispered to me!

42 Chevrolet girl January 20, 2014 at 8:56 PM

@ Atticus Thraxx
What a kind thing to say! You made me feel better!
I am in a house of many, sometimes it is a very lonely place.

43 chatterbox January 20, 2014 at 9:06 PM

A magic wand!

Enough cash to retire comfortably

44 Chevrolet girl January 20, 2014 at 10:25 PM

@ Dr. Jellyfinger
So sorry :(

45 TwinA09 January 20, 2014 at 10:55 PM

I wish my gpa will get better. He has
Diabetes and has been in and out of
The hospital for two months.

46 Able Baker January 21, 2014 at 5:47 AM

Seriously, people! Don’t you know the
“I’m in heat” comments belong on
“Whatever.”

47 Chevrolet girl January 21, 2014 at 6:43 AM

@ Twin A09

Thoughts and prayers go out to your Gpa.

48 JW January 21, 2014 at 7:02 AM

My own house.

49 FreeFromCorporateAmerica January 21, 2014 at 9:44 AM

To be comfortably retired. I have a few years to go and won’t be comfortable in retirement. I’ll probably have to work part time.

Winning the lottery would take care of all of my problems.

50 Mac January 21, 2014 at 9:48 AM

To be able to stop working……

51 jtkatec January 21, 2014 at 10:10 AM

I have achieved everything I have wanted with the exception of a castle in Ireland, but that’s just plain extravagant.

Maybe more patience, more understanding of others and less getting all tied up in knots about the small stuff.

52 Keith January 21, 2014 at 11:07 AM

Retirement. Have about 10-15 years to go.

53 Silva January 21, 2014 at 11:42 AM

I can’t think of anything I want that I don’t already have (gratefully I live in the United States of America), more peace on Earth would be good.

54 Rick January 21, 2014 at 12:04 PM

A government that actually works for the good of the people. For conservatives to pull their heads out of their asses. And for cows to fly over the Moon.

55 Concord Guy January 21, 2014 at 12:40 PM

To have a fiscally responsible congressman, assemblyman and state senator. Currently batting .000.

56 macawlady January 22, 2014 at 11:37 AM

Someone to wash my dishes. Yes, seriously. I am somewhat tall, and bending over to wash dishes hurts my back like you wouldn’t believe. (Or a working dishwasher would suffice)

Better health for me and my husband.

Peace of mind. If only the last two could be bought…

57 Antler January 22, 2014 at 2:23 PM

Nick at #11 ~ ~ ~ Last year you wrote about some very difficult life decisions and resolutions you had made for yourself. Since then, every time I was craving ice cream and hot fudge sauce…. I have thought, “NO! This is nothing at all compared to what Nick is trying to do!!!” And that has greatly helped my resolve. Thank you so very much, and I hope you have achieved a few of your goals as well.

58 Silva January 23, 2014 at 11:03 AM

Antler, if it’s the sugar componant of the ice cream & hot fudge sauce you’re avoiding, have you tried erythrotol, and/or pure monk fruit extract? When my mom got too weak to protest anymore I came to stay with her. She was highly educated & devoted to improving the lives of others, but never was much into cooking, and I was able to provide her with home cooked meals and sweet treats wich conformed to the requirements of her lactose intolerance, diabetes, and renal failure. I discovered those sweetners which are delicious, cookable, and I find that in combination, are a completely painless replacement for sugar!
