One person was killed in a 2-alarm fire in a Walnut Creek home on Friday night, according to firefighters.

One resident of the home on Hilltop Crescent was reported to be trapped upstairs, Contra Costa County firefighters said.

There was heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor at about 9:45 p.m. and a second alarm was requested, firefighters said.

The fire department said later that a victim was found dead inside.

The victim’s identity hasn’t been released at this time.

Its so sad for the wife who could not save her husband. I heard it all unfold on the scanner tonight. When the police arrived the smoke was too thick to go inside the home, they had to wait for fire to get there…. RIP poor man 🙁

I find it very ineresting that the past keeps coming up ? Please tell me how those out want to bring up old wounds and reopen them to cause more hurt in someone’s life .This a sad thing that has happeened ,so maybe some of you should leave the past where it belongs .Pray for the family and all others in need of campassion without the added bringing up the past .Please think before you write.

Gene, you’re either on the wrong thread, or on the wrong planet.

No! not wrong thread maybe wrong planet? Just saw in one of the updates how people like to throw mud and don’t think before they write. What the heck does 20 or 30 years ago have to do with Friday’s fire ? Nothing ! Seems claycordian’s write junk that don’t need to on here , like litle school kids elling on each other. But agree that prayers need to be said for he family.

Wow..didn’t get that feeling but I respect you respect.

I found the background information interesting. No judgements felt from past or present episodes.

Its nice to know history and know in a world were there is so much going on and little we can immediately change ..we have a true hard working celebrity story that used to live near little old us. DHL is big – world renowned.

My heart to family and friends alike. The world is a better place now because he was part of it.
