January 8, 2014 9:32 am · 54 comments

A Concord resident near Joan Ave. is offering $100 for information leading to the identification of the person shown in the video above.

According to the victim, “he broke into my home, stole from my yard, assaulted my dog, and tried to break into my garage. If you can help identify him please help! I am scared to death he will be back. THANK YOU.”

If you know this guy, call the Concord Police Department.

Sorry for your loss. You must feel very violated.

Get a bigger dog

Your video is great…too bad he removed the front license plate. Hopefully he will be recognized and arrested. However not much would gone of it anyway thanks to hug a thugs that lobby for “second, third, fourth, fifth chances for these dirtbags rather than jail time. And thanks to AB 209, lawmakers would rather see these scum on the streets continuing to victimize and torment out communities rather than pay for more jail and law enforcement personnel to control these criminals. What a country.

So much of this going on lately, hope he gets caught. Nice camera what kind is it?

6 Chevrolet girl January 8, 2014 at 9:53 AM

I hope someone recognizes this creep! So sorry for your loss and I hope your dog is okay!

7 Jerk January 8, 2014 at 9:53 AM

Ok, looks like either a white or silver GMC/Chevy pick up. Also those mutton chops shouldn’t be too hard to recognize.

8 Cop January 8, 2014 at 10:03 AM

Best look at the jerk is at .39 into the video. Weird writing on his shirt.

9 Schmee January 8, 2014 at 10:06 AM

Fingerprint the light bulb

10 LostBoysMom January 8, 2014 at 10:14 AM

Too bad your camera could “see” the license plate but it looks like you have a partial description of his vehicle.

11 anonymous January 8, 2014 at 10:22 AM

Alleged thief?

12 Just me January 8, 2014 at 10:24 AM

He touched the lightbulb. Have the cops fingerprint the bulb

13 Foonman January 8, 2014 at 10:26 AM

Wearing that shirt on that day should be a good clue. Someone will see this. As this has happened to me years ago, it always personal………hope they get him soon before he thinks he can keep getting away with this type
of activity…….jail him

14 Mark January 8, 2014 at 10:33 AM

Wearing a glove on his left hand, but uses his right hand to touch the light. Another brilliant citizen.

15 anon666 January 8, 2014 at 10:33 AM

@ Jerk #7,

It’s clearly an older Ford F150. Looks like it’s a 1992-1996 but it’s hard to tell at that angle.

16 Silva January 8, 2014 at 10:37 AM

Arm yourself!

17 Anonymous January 8, 2014 at 10:39 AM

His shirt appears to read, “EX O OY” – whatever that means…

18 Noj January 8, 2014 at 10:41 AM

What Schmee and Just me said…

19 Questions January 8, 2014 at 10:42 AM

What time did this take place? Was no one home at the time (except for the dog)? How large is your dog?

20 "Hug a thug", great line and definition of the problem January 8, 2014 at 10:47 AM

“He only stole something” indeed, but he choose to steal something. He decided it was time to take someone else’s property without permission.

Contrary to popular thought, doing something illegal is still against the law. The problem is the punishment. Locking thugs away does nothing, never really has. Perhaps something as ruthless as taking all of a thieves property upon conviction, money, house, car, TV, etc., would be a more appropriate solution, perhaps not.

The punishment for thieves convicted now is not working. New ideas and laws need to be discussed and enacted to make being a thief, a thug, as something that needs to be avoided rather than embraced.

21 Meth is a hella of a drug January 8, 2014 at 11:21 AM

Super tweaker lives in the court of babel gurentee he knows this dirtbag.cheack with him he’s always got stolen property!!!!!

22 Meth is a hella of a drug January 8, 2014 at 11:21 AM

$100 think of all the crank u can buy!!!!

23 Concord Native January 8, 2014 at 11:50 AM

Concord police are way to lazy and dont care about fingerprints, they are too busy pulling over classic cars to make sure their horns work.(possible police auction items)

24 VikingPrincess January 8, 2014 at 11:52 AM

Good footage, seems he knows about camera? Is it a concealed camera?
Seems he knows his way around. If he is a stranger, pretty slimy guy…acts like its his property. His face is always turned away.
If a sign indicating premises is under surveillance is up, that might deter too.
Would be great if camera can detect large movement or faces and announces ” surveillance has been uploaded to the home owner or law enforcement” LOL.
Good luck if this is an intruder. I bet you find him.

25 cici January 8, 2014 at 12:07 PM

Think back to who has been in your home lately… Repairman, friend of friend etc. He seemed to feel very familiar with the house like he knew what he wanted and you were not home as he pulled right up to the door.
think hard and you may solve the crime yourself
Good luck and sorry for your losses and poor little fido taking the brunt of his anger. :(

26 RANDOM TASK January 8, 2014 at 12:10 PM

a simple motion activated siren would work put it under the camera because first reaction will be to look right at the noise and see what it is then run …..you will get a nice mug shot ……and if someone was home and allegedly kneecapped the guy he would be out of everyones alleged hair

27 Ddrhl January 8, 2014 at 12:21 PM

I’d like to know the type of camera, too. Such a clear pic!

28 Pat Patterson January 8, 2014 at 12:47 PM

I have an idea that shirt says “sexy boy toy” but is partially covered up… So that doesn’t help much.

29 ConcordMike January 8, 2014 at 12:54 PM

Could this also be an older Ford Ranger? Maybe even a Dodge Dakota? Chevy S-10 too. Was this the only camera? I have eight cameras and would have gotten several images of this douche bag. Actually, douche bag is too nice for these… whatever you want to call them. Terrorists! That’s a good one. Un-American as far as I am concerned.

30 ConcordMike January 8, 2014 at 1:07 PM

You can find out the guys height by comparing the top of his head and/or shoulders to images he walks by. For example, whatever is under the tarp along the side of the house, or the hose and light on the garage.
It looks like his head is even with the top of the truck door when he opens it. But he is tall enough to reach the light bulb. I would relocate that light a little higher so nobody can fiddle with it, and add more cameras to get several angles.
Apparently this is the only camera, or else he never would have burglarized you if he saw obvious cameras out front.

31 Marcus January 8, 2014 at 1:15 PM

Call the insurance company, and as far as going after the guy, let the police handle it.

Let them dust for prints, and if they get prints, and he has a record, law enforcement will make an arrest.

33 P_Hill Phil January 8, 2014 at 1:53 PM

I copied and edited a frame of the video that shows the jerk. I don’t know how to attach it to the comments so I’ll email it to the major. Hope it helps to identify him.

34 Concord guy January 8, 2014 at 2:48 PM

So on Monday morning same thing happened to me at my house on Minert Road in Concord at 5:00 am I heard a noise in my back yard. Then at 6:36 am they came back and opened my garage door, like they owned the place. Looking at my video cameras it shows them breaking in to my SUV and they found my garage door opener which was hidden. And at 6:36 am they thought they would come back and rob me blind. These guys are not phased by cameras, dogs ,lights, alarms or people being home. Everyone needs to lock up your valuables and watch for unusual characters in your neighborhood.

35 Concord guy January 8, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Clearly in the video it’s a white Ford F150 or F250 mid 1990’s or ford bronco full size! color looks as if it’s white or tan.

36 Anon January 8, 2014 at 4:21 PM

Since they seem to think they can rehabilitate these losers but they can’t. We need open carry and then these sleez bags family can open carry the smoking body away. In history when the police do not get it done then people get fed up and take it into their own hands.

I guarantee you that if I am ever on a jury for someone who popped a cap into one of these dirtbags no matter what I will not waiver from my vote of not guilty. Time to take back the hood

37 Grewah January 8, 2014 at 4:50 PM

Time to get the assault shotguns out. The cops in concord won’t do a damn thing. But a round or two of rocksalt will get the word out fast.

38 Jerk January 8, 2014 at 5:15 PM

I’m the original Jerk, I guess there’s other jerks out there. It’s a fullsize ford f150 pre-1997. If you’re scared, get some bear spray and a Gun!

39 anonanonagain January 8, 2014 at 5:15 PM

It always comes in waves. It seems that this area gets hit by these lowlifes. I wonder if they have family nearby and when released from doing petty time they just move on back and start the cycle again. Too bad they can’t ship him off to North Korea for Dennis Rodma to give to Kim Jong Un as a play toy.

40 Elwood January 8, 2014 at 5:22 PM

There’s video of him taking the guy’s stuff away and he’s an “alleged” thief?

I call bull**** on the mayor.

41 hope January 8, 2014 at 5:40 PM

Ford stock tan paint job – 93ish f-150 like this http://www.purplewave.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?120613A/C2512 our best guess

42 Anon January 8, 2014 at 6:04 PM

Towards the end of the video, it looks like he’s looking under rocks or potted plants for a possible house key. My guess is that the item he loaded into his truck was accessible without entering the house.

43 james January 8, 2014 at 8:49 PM

@Concord Native,
Elaborate on the horn issue. I do not need problems with vehicle.

44 Mimi (original) January 8, 2014 at 11:05 PM

Oh mi gawd! What an invasion of your comfort zone. I agree with other posters: he seemed comfortable on ur property. He’s either been there before or has thoroughly cased the place. What a scumbag! Hope he is in the system and his prints from the lightbulb send him away for a long time!

45 Jinks January 9, 2014 at 9:49 AM

The reason he’s searching under everything for the key is for a later visit. He’s already broken in, but it’s more work than he wants to do next time. He’s scoped out the lights and camera location, so he’s all prepared. You can bet he’ll be back. He’ll be sure to wait until the insurance has allowed the homeowner to get replacements for everything he’s taken the first time. It’ll be deja vu all over again.

46 The Mamba January 9, 2014 at 10:07 AM

Too fat for meth. Looks young though, sorry I can’t help out as I know neither him nor the car.

47 Sheila January 9, 2014 at 10:49 AM

I’m with Marcus.

Call the insurance company, and let the police dust for prints.

Hope they catch the guy.

48 Analise January 9, 2014 at 10:55 AM

He does look like a beginner meth head. That changed quick-lol.

49 Michelle January 9, 2014 at 11:03 AM

Is there an update to this story Maor?

50 lin January 9, 2014 at 12:37 PM

Sounds like a good shot in the ass is what this guy needs….and any others that think it is okay to steal and kick dogs….

51 lin January 9, 2014 at 12:48 PM

By the way Concord Native…Concord Police are not lazy, at least the ones I know, but these things, and many worse, are going on all over the city, neighbors have to watch out for each other, and help the police when they can.

52 HowDisgusting January 10, 2014 at 10:26 AM

Sorry that this happened to you. I hope this nasty creep is caught. Sorry he was so nasty to your dog. I hope someone will recognize this creep and they will step forward and turn him in. Terrible way to start out the new year.

53 Damn Punk January 10, 2014 at 2:24 PM

If I see this chump I will be the first to gun him down.

54 Damn Punk January 10, 2014 at 2:27 PM

The thing that pissed me off the most was the part which said that “he assaulted my dog”. This a-hole needs to be f–ked up in the worst way.

Hopefully, we will find his body lying on the side of the road somewhere.
