UPDATE: Concord Police Chasing Stolen Vehicle in Walnut Creek

Concord Police are chasing a stolen vehicle in the City of Walnut Creek.

The vehicle was spotted on I-680 south in Concord, and when CPD tried to pull the vehicle over on the freeway, the driver refused to yield.

The vehicle exited the freeway, and is now on Walnut Creek city streets.

UPDATE, 8:50pm: The vehicle was going about 50-mph up Newell Ave. in Walnut Creek, and made a right turn on Andrea Dr. (a dead end street), which is past S. Broadway. The vehicle turned into a driveway, and the passenger, a female, was taken into custody, but the driver fled the scene and is currently outstanding.

UPDATE, 8:55pm: A helicopter is now overhead assisting with the search.

UPDATE, 9:08pm: The search is still underway for the second suspect.

UPDATE, 9:24pm: The search for the second suspect (the driver) has been called off.

I guess they had a good reason to call of the search for the driver. If she was arrested, maybe she’ll give him up.

It was a white pickup truck with a bunch of black garbage bags in the back bed. We were eating dinner there last night and walking back to our car when the chase went by us.
