A van belonging to the Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market has been stolen, and they need you to keep your eyes out for the vehicle, and their equipment.

The following is from the Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market:

The Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market White Nissan NV 2500 2013 van License 2MKT was stolen early this morning. Along with the VAN, they took the equipment used to run the market including the signs, pop-ups, banners, cones, traffic signs, but the worse is the children’s tables for the craft corner.

Several years ago, the minature folding portable tables were donated by Kaiser for the market’s children’s nutrition education corner.

The thieves stole the van from the Farmers Market office in Walnut Creek at Citrus Circle then dumped the equipment from the inside of the Van near themarket site . The theives left some awnings and two folding tables, but took off with the chairs, the banners and a truckload of equipment it takes to run the market. The children’s craft boxes were also stolen.

When the market manager went to pick up the equipment dumped in the Shadelands parking lot near the market site, another unrelated person was in the process of taking the equipment.!!!

Our non-profit organizaton saved for 4 years to make a down payment and still owe thousands on the Van. Please help us find it. If you know any information please contact the Walnut Creek Police at 925-943-5844. Thank you.

Where’s the Link to the Auto-Lock Pro? Yes, it’s not 100% (Nothing Is), But thieves will move on to the next easy target when they see this.

Do you suppose the keys may have been
left in the ignition?

This is so sad. Let’s hope that the vehicle is recovered intact. The farmers markets are very important to the common good.

Thors Hammer!!!
If a business, should have insurance. The comment about children’s tables? Are they unique? Would think two vehicles are a bigger deal.
Seems like this was Not impulsive, someone who knew the vehicle was unattended during that time.
If a businesses should add burglery to auto theft when caught. They will be caught, I can feel in my Viking bones, you’ll see!

What horrible creeps did this???!!! We love the Farmer’s Markets. Why in the world would anyone take something so valuable and necessary to a group that gives the public so much value on such a shoestring budget?????? Unlessn of course, they are creeps!! Creeps!!!

8 Is that a picture of the actual van? January 2, 2014 at 9:17 PM

Is that picture above exactly what the van looked like or just similar? For example, did it have any side or rear windows or any attachments on top?

That is cumbersome to keep at all times. Someone will find that van. It’s too obvious.

10 full coverage! January 2, 2014 at 9:39 PM

Sorry for the bad luck but being a 2013 model and if you owe thousands then you should have full coverage to keep your loan company happy. If not take it as a learning lesson, pay your deductible and get a new van. Chances are your not going to want it back if the cops do find it not stripped down to the bone prolly had a nasty homeless tweaker orgy in the back of it anyways…

That is a business van and cost the company a lot of money. I hope they get it intact and returned.
