One person was murdered in Claycord in 2013.

The crime occurred on Mi Casa Ct. in Concord on Saturday April 6th. Concord Police say Ismael Garcia Ramirez was shot in the head during an altercation with the suspect, 29-year-old Concord resident Vincent Ochoa.

This was the first murder in Concord since October of 2011, according to police.

The cities of Clayton, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Martinez and the unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County located around Claycord recorded no homicides in 2013.

One too many but otherwise a good report for the rest.

One year they found two bodies in Martinez, it was in the 90′s. Both cause of death were not known. As I remember, both may have been murders. And wasn’t their a murder in Martinez last year? 2013? I think so, at the Amtrek station as I recall. Neither showed up on the murder rate that year, which was zero. Ever since then I am a little skeptical how they keep numbers. Crime rates, esp murder, is a big turn off for tourists and other investors etc. Home buyers. Does anyone know how they determine if it was a murder or not. Does that mean a conviction for murder? Or a coroners report that it was murder? At any rate we are pretty low in this area.

Sorry, that murder was in 2012 at the Amtrak station.

Wasn’t there a homicide in one of the homeless camps here in Concord last year?

I thought there was someone found in a closed gas station on Monument.

The person found at the gas station was found in July of 2011.

I thought some guy pushed a woman down on the steps in front of the courthouse in Martinez and she hit her head and died? Maybe ruled manslaughter or something?

The person found at the former gas station at Monument and Detroit (now a rental place) was not ruled as a murder.

Rick Wester. Clayton. Killed by his son in September. At his home on Morgan Territory Rd… but none the less, Clayton. We miss you

Edi, that was ruled as a murder. The one near the old Hollywood Video was the one that wasn’t ruled a murder.

Yes, Mizzers is right. I think Rick was killed in April, though…

Sad that one person died but that was a lot less than I thought there had been, especially since it felt that crime was getting so much worse.

@ 11
For discerning minds, Morgan Territory Road is not in the City of Clayton. It is located in the unincorporated area outside of Clayton, so any crime there is reported as County of Contra Costa.
