When I was little my older brother caught a young red-tailed hawk in Concord. I remember it flying to his hand to eat. I think my parents made him take it back shortly after.

I love to photograph birds. I am fortunate that all kinds of birds visit my birdbaths daily, several times a day.

I’ve been trying to get a good photo of a northern flicker that enjoys drinking from one of my birdbaths. I have to take the photo through my kitchen window. I could never get outside in time to get photo.

Thanks for sharing.

What a stunning bird!
@Shasta; I’m sure you’ll get lucky soon with your flicker. I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures.

I was in Benicia yesterday and a hawk dropped right in front of my car and caught a mouse, pretty cool to see so close up.

Great pics! where on pine hollow rd did you take them? (other than a street in concord, “claycord” is not an actual place) I live on pine hollow, & I think he is one of our regulars. we also have a peregrine falcon & some kites (3) who hang out & eye the Quail in our yard.
