Love Bing Crosby’s White Christmas album. “It’s Beginning to Look A lot Like Christmas” and “Mele Kalikimaka” are a tie.

23 Cowellian December 20, 2013 at 2:23 PM

I love Christmas music in general, and have many, many favorites, but as a former little drummer boy, there is a special place in my heart for Little Drummer Boy.

Last year, we got to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra in concert, and it was truly awesome!

Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel. Here’s a great rendition by Sugarland. It’s almost as good as us third graders were at the Christmas Pageant at Oak Park Elementary back in 1958.

Riu Chiu. It’s a Latin song and very beautiful. I also like the Carol of the Bells

44 Growing up in Concord December 20, 2013 at 11:59 PM

I remember Christmas 1955, a December with rain storms lashing at Calfiornia, flooding everywhere, and the Christmas Service at First Presbyterian. Standing up there with the choirs, the organ rich tones echoing in the packed church, I could see the rain coming down the outside of the church – the song ” O Holy Night” The voices of the choir reaching the high levels of ” o night devine, o night when Christ was born” and the final and joyous ” O holy night” – just like yesterday, still my favorite Christmas song.
Got home that night and there was water at our front doorstep…the only house on our street that didn’t get flooded that night or the other nights during that storm.

45 Concord1963 December 21, 2013 at 10:10 AM
