If you missed it, don’t worry, because as you can tell, Ray Mengel captured the beautiful Pearl Harbor remembrance beacon atop Mt. Diablo in one of the best pictures we’ve ever seen of the newly restored beacon.

Thanks, Ray!

Thanks for the beautiful picture. It’s almost Biblical. And thanks to the guys that put it back together. Better than what we remember.

It was awesome to see the bright flashing light last night, so glad I remembered to go out and take a look! It was awesome from down in the State Streets!!

That’s what a terrorist sees before experiencing a head shot from our military’s finest marksmen.

I knew I could count on a Claycordian to provide my favorite birthday thrill. I couldn’t get to the ceremony :(, nor could I get a mountain view this year, but THANKS, Ray for the stunning picture, and thanks to the many who made it possible! Some news of the ceremony would be fantastic as well, may our survivors be blessed.

Great photo! I believe Save Mount Diablo
is still taking donations to cover the costs
of restoring the beacon. They are a really
important organization helping to protect
and conserve the land in and around Mt.
Diablo, as well. You can Google them and
make an online donation on their website,
if I’m not mistaken.
