A gas line was struck by a construction crew on Castle Glenn Rd. in Walnut Creek at about 9am today.

The Fire Department & PG&E are both on their way.

This is a residential neighborhood off Tice Valley Blvd., down the street from the community of Rossmoor.

No injuries have been reported.

Thank goodness no injuries.

Glad no one was hurt, happy there was no explosions too. But do these construction people ever call PG&E to find out about gas lines?

@Dorothy- I had to dig up a side yard for some work. I called PG&E and they sent someone out to mark where the lines were. All they could tell me was that they can detect where but not how far down they are. I had to dig the ground by hand because we had no clue how far to go with the back hoe. Maybe the original builders laid the pipe higher than they should have and the workers hit thinking it was a foot deeper.

What could possibly go wrong?

The contractors are also suppose to dig by hand if they don’t know the depth and have a labor watch the backhoe so this doesn’t happen
