A Claycordian had her vehicle broken into this week, and wants to get the word out to others about the dangers of leaving valuable items in your vehicle.
Here’s the story (from her daughter):
We live in a pretty safe neighborhood, right behind Dave Brubreck Park next to Concord High.
My mother went out this morning to get her wallet and discovered her wallet and work laptop had been stolen from the trunk. Her car was parked right in front of the house last night and when she went online to check her account activity, the thieves had already spent over $450, two separate transactions at Bonfare for $150 and another at Grand gas for the same amount. It also looks like they went to a 7-11 and an AT&T store.
So fellow Claycordians, please be cautious when locking your cars and leaving valuables inside. I hope karma plays its part and whom ever did this is caught.
We also called the police to make a report and were told she had to go online to file the claim.
How awful, sorry to hear this happened to you.
Claycordians, remember, don’t leave anything valuable inside your vehicle!
