@ Mike Oxhard – I was thinking the same thing about the flowery cowboy shirt standing next to him.

I rushed down to get a parking spot right in front of Dimaggio’s Barber Shop on Main Street to get my hair cut. There were plenty of open parking spots at 2:30 and the cutoff was 4pm.

So the parade is just the opening ceremony for the Festival the next week end?

I have fond memories of the 1950’s festivals. Great to be a kid in the 40’s and 50’s. And of course the dark brown hands from the harvest. Hard work and hot temps.

If I saw those two anywhere near the restroom I wouldn’t go in!

Very surreal, seeing the Walnut King hanging out with Gary Busey. Thought I was having an acid flashback.

Who wants the nut?

Bob Brittain #10 – I do believe that you were able to get a parking place on Main Street because of the date not the time. The Walnut Festival Parade is tomorrow (Saturday, September 14th) according to the article and the press release from the City. All those years in the library wasted.

Looking forward to the parade. We go every year.

The parade is on Sat. night at 6:00pm. The festival opens next Thursday Sept. 19 in the evening at 5pm. Fridays hours start at 5pm also. Saturday, Sept. 21 & Sunday Sept. 22 the festival is all day. Saturday morning there is fishing in the pond at Heather Farm. Check their website http://www.thewalnutfestival.org. Fun!

Since the parade is in the evening-I guess we will be going. This isn’t something we usually don’t miss.

Sometimes you feel like a nut…. :-). (See #4)

Went to the parade….
Had a blast.
My youngest (1 1/2) Grandson loved it too.
He loved running up and down the middle of the street, when it was all blocked off.
We were front row, right on the gutter.

Sure glad i went…. :-)
