A vehicle was destroyed during a car fire on highway-4 near the Concord/Bay Point border on Saturday evening.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed, we’re hearing no major injuries were reported.

Thanks to Rich for the picture!

Where’s a hydrant when you need one?

Thankfully there were no major injuries.

I wonder what caused the fire?

Well when the insurance pays out the owner, they should head over to Honda of El Cerrito and ill put them into a brand new 2013 Honda Civic for a great price. Ask for Rich if anyone else needs a new Honda!

Come on people!!! It’s a SPARE-THE-AIR day!
Don’t let your car start on fire today!
The air police should give them a ticket.

So, I’m gonna ask… Why were the comments section closed for the story you posted about Charles Burnes??! I’m one of those people that gets offended at people writing negative things about something they have little personal knoweledge about, HOWEVER, this is censorship!! What gives Mayor?!
Sad that this young man lost his life, BUT, if you run from the police, you may get shot! Period.

I’ve seen that pattern once before and it was from the brakes and the brake lines on a chassis.

@Rich G

Why would this person want a new Honda? This is a new Honda Civic in the picture and it is on FIRE!!! Honda may make reliable cars but they are not safe!

Drove by this just as it ignited. I noticed on the road as I approached large pieces of what looked like cardboard. Be careful out there not to drive over anything, even things that are seemingly harmless.

If you wrap a pork shoulder in foil and place it on top of the intake manifold, you can drive around all day & do your errands. When you get home you can unwrap the pork, pull it & add some BBQ sauce & feed the kids. Hard to know where to place it under the hood of these new cars though. Probably ripped the foil & leaked.

@average joe– I’m with you. How bout an attempt an an explanation! I kinda see this sight as slipping a bit.

“You’re fired.”

Only you, can prevent Honda fires.

Highway 4 is full of road hazards – not to mention the hazardous lane and off ramp changes they make without notice. This road is so dangerous.

Paul – like other commenters, I am perplexed why some items have “closed comments”. I can understand if the comments become ugly, but close them from the get-go, and why post the item in the first place if you don’t want comments?

Think the Mayor could at LEAST give an explanation of his thinking, but then again, it IS his site and he doesn’t have to explain anything, but it still leaves questions in our lil’ feeble minds.

I love Americans. “We need an explanation” how about he doesn’t know and might not want to make stuff up like the rest of the media!
