All lanes of eastbound state Highway 24 are closed because of a motorcycle crash and fire in Oakland and a related shooting in Orinda and police activity there, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The downed motorcycle was reported at 3:40 p.m. on Highway 24 near Claremont Avenue, the CHP said.
Shortly after that, there were reports of shots fired near the Wilder Road off-ramp on the other side of the Caldecott Tunnel, the CHP said.
CHP officials did not provide any additional information about the incident, including a possible estimated time for when the road would reopen or whether the motorcyclist was injured.
