Quick work by Contra Costa firefighters prevented a vegetation fire from spreading to nearby homes in Martinez on Thursday night,
officials said.

The fire on Trailview Circle prompted a second alarm response, but fire crews contained it to 2 acres with no damage to nearby homes.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

I live right down the street from where the fire was. Allegedly, two teens wearing dark clothing threw firecrackers behind the tennis courts. A woman who saw the whole thing unfold was the one who called 911.

Where exactly on Trailview Circle? Because we love on Trailhead way and know the area very well and there isn’t 2 archers to burn except by the train tracks and running trail!!! Please help verify the exact area!!!

Interesting. Trailview is our cross street and we didn’t even hear a fire engine. Illegal fireworks are being shot off right now in the neighborhood.

SamRox, Trailview is your cross street. Trailview on one side, Orchard View on the other.

Not surprised. Lots of irresponsible people setting off fireworks near my house, too.

The fireworks on the shore in Martinez were spectacular! It was nice to sit there on the grass and enjoy them…..

The fire was not on trailview circle, it was in the park area closest to Westaire Blvd.
