Robbery at BART in Downtown Concord

June 30, 2013 21:59 pm · 19 comments

A victim was robbed at the Downtown Concord BART Station (the one off Clayton Road) at about 9:50 on Sunday night.

The suspects are described as an unknown age black male, about 6’3″ with tan pants, and a Hispanic male with long hair, a tan hat and a black shirt.

They were last seen running into the BART Station.

Concord Police are on scene searching for the suspects.

And there was an assault or homicide at about 8:30 on a train at the Embarcadero Station – maybe there is a good side to the BART strike.

Concord just doesn’t feel safe any more… any chance these are the same two that robbed someone near Wells Fargo Bank/B of A on Willow Pass Rd a couple weeks or so ago? Thought maybe it was a similar description of the two guys that did that…

Ha – they ran INTO the station because they knew there would be no security there. BART cops always seem to be cruising around the stations texting, playing with their junk – hard to tell. Same results, though.

@disappintes in concord- it’s not just concord. It’s everywhere now….

* disappointed…..stupid autocorrect.

If this person had had a gun, this might have gone very differently. We’d have two less scumbags, and clear message the rest.

The police can’t be everywhere all the time. When seconds count, police are only minutes away.

That’s why I carry what I do. No government is going to dictate to me I can’t defend my own life. Take weapons from criminals, or show a decrease in the crime rate, and I will gladly re-think my position. Crime is rampid here. Sadly.

Concord has gone downhill, and “we all know why.” That’s why I haven’t lived there since the 70’s!

There were two guys fitting that description outside Agave Restaurant earlier this evening around 8:30pm. They looked like thugs. Hmmm. Are there security cameras at Bart and downtown?

Illegal aliens, section 8 housing, and AB 109 are the reasons this area is going down hill. Of course reductions in police only make things worse too.

A little note on taking weapons from criminals, not to put words in the previous posters mouth, but be weary of who the state calls a criminal. We might all agree that someone who robs or breaks into someone home should not own a firearm, but currently the state is passing SB 755 which would add to that list misdemeanors. Here are the legislators who voted for it:
Ayes: Beall, Block, Calderon, Cannella, Corbett, De León, DeSaulnier, Evans, Galgiani, Hancock, Hernandez, Hill, Jackson, Lara, Leno, Lieu, Liu, Monning, Padilla, Pavley, Price, Roth, Steinberg, Wolk, Yee

@A #10

And all the while some of us thought the reasons were related to a host of other poor choices and/or moral failures and the like.

I would posit that there are far, FAR more American “citizens” committing crime in Concord than there illegal aliens doing it. And let’s be realistic, crime happens in every Bay Area city and Concord is a very long way from being worst.

I saw men matching those descriptions Friday at Taco Poncho. Scared the heck out of me and the people inside the restaurant.

I would bet the security camera video inside the restaurant would have a great image of at least one of the thieves.

influx of unsavory types everywhere you look in present day concord, that is if you are looking! going about town with your eyes on your cell phone or your head up your arse will definitely paint a target on your back. Always be aware of your surroundings!

ChampagneKitty July 1, 2013 at 8:32 PM

to #17–BART was not closed at the time of the robbery.

Probably POS BART employees helping themselves to more money.
