A motorcyclist was critically injured in a head-on collision with a car in Clayton this evening that may have been caused by a drunk driver, according to police.

The collision was reported at 5:50 p.m. on Clayton Road near Oak Street, Clayton police Chief Chris Thorsen said.

The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. The driver of the car (pictured above) is suspected to have been drinking and was arrested, Thorsen said.

Who is the girl ? How is she related to this ?

2 Biker Bob June 27, 2013 at 11:07 PM

Read what was posted!

“The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. The driver of the car (pictured above) is suspected to have been drinking and was arrested, Thorsen said.”

3 Angry Mom June 27, 2013 at 11:08 PM

She’s the “alleged” drunk driver.

4 slipster June 27, 2013 at 11:09 PM

Hmm. Caption says driver of the car is pictured above.
Doubt its one if the dudes in a vest.

Hello.

5 LH June 27, 2013 at 11:14 PM

AT SOME POINT THE SERVERS AT BARS SHOULD HAVE TO HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR SOMETHING. OR NOT…

6 mel June 27, 2013 at 11:25 PM

This makes me sick. An innocent person is paying for her irresponsibility. Lets not make her anymore famous.

7 Shiloh June 27, 2013 at 11:29 PM

@LH, if she was taking pills she could have had one drink and been a complete mess. Or she could have said she walked there – or a friend was picking her up. It really is her responsibility, much more than it is the bartender’s.

Now I am curious, these are some pretty clear pictures – how long until people start naming her?

8 Retardo Montalbon June 27, 2013 at 11:34 PM

Ugh!!…….never get a motorcycle……….no matter how safe you are, there’s always idiots out there!

9 Lisa June 27, 2013 at 11:39 PM

I agree with all the above except for the first one….”hello” is right. Who is the girl???? Come on…..are you drunk?

10 Mister Wister June 27, 2013 at 11:44 PM

@LH #7,
Right, of course, since there’s no such thing as “personal responsibility” anymore? It’s always someone elses fault, right?

11 PittsburgDiva June 27, 2013 at 11:59 PM

How dare you post her picture? She made a MISTAKE this was an ACCIDENT she didn’t go out and hurt anybody on purpose. I demand that you take it down RIGHT NOW. I will not ask again. She is being publicy humiliated and for what reason? Because she made a MISTAKE? I am sorry for the man on the bike but she did not mean to do this. ACCIDENTS happen.

12 C June 28, 2013 at 12:06 AM

PittsburgDiva, you need to calm down. You’re allowed to post photos of people like this when they’re in public and it’s journalism. Learn 2 law.

13 anon June 28, 2013 at 12:07 AM

Really Diva? She shouldn’t act irresponsibly in public if she doesn’t want to draw attention in public. She assumed the risk of accident when she made the conscious decision to get behind the wheel impaired. Weather it was her intention or not it is directly a result of her actions that a man is fighting for his life right now.

Get off your high horse. You can’t hide all your shame in a little box and pretend it didn’t happen.

14 Anonymom June 28, 2013 at 12:14 AM

She made a decision not a mistake. Accidents happen yes but if you’re drinking and driving that changes things. What if it were your family? Your husband fighting for his life? What if she drove onto the sidewalk and killed someone’s child? Her name would be released soon enough. Nobody’s outed her name yet…she’s not that recognizable.

15 Anon June 28, 2013 at 12:20 AM

Wow. I’m willing to bet PittsburgDiva could name her. You can’t demand someone take journalistic photos down. Don’t be ridiculous! Accidents happen, yes. However, if accidents happen when you’re intoxicated it is no longer an accident, it was a choice to get behind the wheel.

16 @13 June 28, 2013 at 12:20 AM

Even though it was an accident she is still responsible. Or maybe you are responsible or maybe Brad Pitt?

17 Yo Diva! June 28, 2013 at 12:25 AM

@PittsDiva,

Ha Ha, you’re kidding right?
Good one.
LOL

18 KenInConcord June 28, 2013 at 12:28 AM

Life is full choices, to yell, MISTAKE, ACCIDENT, DO-OVER after we make a bad choice doesn’t make someone immune to the consequences of our actions.

Ken In Concord

19 momo June 28, 2013 at 12:29 AM

@13
you have got to be kidding! No mistake or accident when you are driving drunk and cause an accident.

20 Craig Cannon June 28, 2013 at 12:31 AM

A guy walking a dog told me a 52 Year Old Man was the Driver of the Car. I didn’t take any of these Pictures, but its perfectly legal to take Pictures in a Public Place, at a Public Services Involved Incident. There is no Humiliation coming from this Blogger. I Documented that scene on Video. No Faces, except the Cops. Whomever was driving that car appeared to be not right of mind. If it was one of the persons pictured or not, the “Mistake” It was an Accident, stopped when the Driver of that Car, changed the Motorcyclists Life Forever. The Motorcyclists Loved Ones Lives Forever. If He is still lucky enough to have a life. There is no Pity for anyone drinks then drives, knowingly, risking everyone on the Street. Many Lives were changed Today, Right There. No matter who the alleged Driver is or was, The People will decide. It’s just plain senseless. Don’t we always say this every time we see these. I hope and Pray He makes it.

21 C June 28, 2013 at 12:33 AM

Also, ban people from Pittsburg from being in this area. They all seem to be terrible at life.

22 anonanonagain June 28, 2013 at 12:34 AM

Horrible. Why do people continue to get into their cars after they have been drinking too much?? I am astounded. I am hoping for the best for this motorcyclist. I hope he pulls through. This woman I hope gets a few years in prison for her blatant disregard for other people’s lives and her own……..

23 @ PittsburgDiva June 28, 2013 at 12:42 AM

Are you kidding me??? This was an accident, she didn’t mean to hurt anyone?? As soon as you drink to the point that you are impaired and then turn the key in the ignition and take off down the road you have already assumed the risk of killing/hurting/maiming someone. She CHOSE to get into a car while drunk. Try telling the wife/family/loved ones of the motorcyclist that it was just an accident and to get over it, while the motorcyclist is fighting for his life in hospital. You are one callous and insensitive individual to think more of the drunk’s feelings than the mangled body of the motorcyclist. Appalling…….

24 nytemuvr June 28, 2013 at 12:58 AM

If that’s the driver it looks like at least a two Vicodin, 2 vodka cranberry juice “accident” to me.

25 @all the mean people of claycord! June 28, 2013 at 1:14 AM

Here goes “C” again…… just throwing up all over yet another post…. nothing nice to say ever. Such a sad person. Judging everyone based on the actions of one person(Pittsdiva/ the people of Pitt)
Praying for all involved.
And special prayers for the hateful person that is “C”

Wasn’t there another person who’s comments started getting blocked on the facebook page because of the same thing “c” does… posting off topic comments?

26 Subliminal Eye June 28, 2013 at 1:18 AM

Hey @PittsburgDiva…SHUTUP! Accidents do happen, but this is no accident! If you act a DAMN fool and decide to drive in to oncoming traffic (drunk) and damn near kill somebody, you deserve a lot more than public humiliation! HOPEFULLY she can be positive role model in some shape or form to get more people to be better about their decisions. GET A CAB!!! It ain’t worth it!

27 LinzerTorte June 28, 2013 at 1:19 AM

Is she crying because she feels bad for what happened or because she got caught?

28 Seriously June 28, 2013 at 1:20 AM

@PittsburgDiva

I’m not sure who you think you are, but let me set you straight on a couple things:

1) According to witness statements, “the woman was headed towards Concord on Clayton Road when she suddenly crossed the median” I would like to remind you that the median she had to cross in order be in the way of oncoming traffic is quite sizable and clearly marked.

2) I would also like to remind you that at a quarter to six, it is still very light outside, meaning that the driver should have been able to see the road quite clearly.

3) Texting while driving is illegal.

4) DRINKING AND DRIVING IS ILLEGAL.

5) Please take the time to realize that this woman made conscious decisions that rendered her a threat to everyone. Yes, maybe this woman did not leave the club with the intention of hurting anyone, but she certainly needs to be held accountable for her terrible decisions that has resulted in someone else’s life hanging by a thread. You should be focusing your energy on praying for the motorcyclist’s life, rather than your friend’s reputation. Photos taken in public are not a crime, and if it takes this woman to be “humiliated” as you call it, to prevent others from making similar idiotic and dangerous decisions, then it should be done.

I demand it.

29 So much ignorance! June 28, 2013 at 1:22 AM

@Pittsburgdiva

There is no excuse! She was drunk! She possibly KILLED someone!!! Do you think calling it an accident makes the motorcyclists family feels better??? I know when I drink and I know NOT to drive!

Prayers to the man who was hit. I hope he pulls through! So sad to hear that happened. My mother-in-law was hit by a car running a red light when she was on her motor cycle. She wasn’t suppose to live but i thank a higher power that she did!
I hope the same for him!!!

32 CM from Martinez June 28, 2013 at 3:50 AM

Could someone please tell me how is possible for there to be a “PittsburgDiva”?

33 Don't Censor Me Bro June 28, 2013 at 5:00 AM

“Accident?”

No!

Traffic collision tied to unlawful conduct…driving while impaired?

YES!

34 Anon1 June 28, 2013 at 6:11 AM

Does anyone know how the rider is doing at this time?

35 John June 28, 2013 at 6:33 AM

If you don’t want your photos taken, don’t be around a major crash scene. Simple.

36 Jerk June 28, 2013 at 6:46 AM

Drinking or TEXTING, What’s the difference? The Fine $$$. Step Up and get a Brain and Start Checking Cell Phone records. I see MORE MORONS Daily TEXTING while supposed to be Driving.
It needs to STOP, Or you need to allow us to have CELL PHONE JAMMERS.
SICK OF IT!!!

37 The Mamba June 28, 2013 at 6:53 AM

What kind of person is drunk enough to almost kill someone at 5:50 on a Thursday? Lock her up and throw away the key. Thoughts and prayers for the motorcyclist.

38 MM June 28, 2013 at 6:54 AM

Saying prayers this morning for that motorcyclist.

39 Steve June 28, 2013 at 6:55 AM

@Pitts#11…..

This was NOT an “accident”. She was INTENTIONALLY drinking, and made the conscious and INTENTIONAL decision to drive after drinking.

Blowing it off as an “accident” just tells me that you (along with others) are incapable of taking personal responsibility.

40 Remembering June 28, 2013 at 7:01 AM

Where is the Fire Department?

41 JRconcord June 28, 2013 at 7:09 AM

I have reviewed all of the pictures and have decided that it is Obamas fault.

42 C June 28, 2013 at 7:25 AM

@25 Praying is so proactive.

43 C June 28, 2013 at 7:27 AM

@25 Praying is so proactive. Get out of my town.

44 Huh? June 28, 2013 at 7:36 AM

What did “c” say that is so horrible? Huh anonymous poster? U don’t make sense. All I see here is that a lady caused a 100% preventable accident that may soon turn into a fatality. Or shall we say HOMICIDE (death at the hands of another)

45 JW June 28, 2013 at 8:05 AM

Maybe being publically shamed by having her picture posted will make her think before she acts in the future. I hope that the motorcyclist is ok.

46 JW June 28, 2013 at 8:11 AM

Oh, incidentally; I hope that she goes to jail.

47 Connie Dobbs June 28, 2013 at 8:41 AM

Not a flattering set of pics, Pittsy? Think you look awful when you cry?

48 Parsnip June 28, 2013 at 8:43 AM

@Pittsburg(Divawannabe) #11 — Life absolutely sucks when one is a useless slush nipping at the bottle in the afternoon and driving.

49 NutCreek Frontier June 28, 2013 at 8:49 AM

Such powerful photos…please show them to your teens and others about the importance of not driving drunk. Drinking to excess on a late afternoon during the week, so sad.

50 Andrew June 28, 2013 at 9:05 AM

Mr. Mayor, I think PittsburgDiva ought to win the “best troll of 2013″ award.

51 Lalalala June 28, 2013 at 9:27 AM

Note that the driver is “suspected of having been drinking.” That’s not the same as drunk. Let’s decide she was drunk after we get the blood alcohol test results back.

52 just me June 28, 2013 at 9:31 AM

@PDiva

You’re sure making yourself come across as a Diva.

A couple of things-they are not your pictures, they were taken in public, and she is over 18. I don’t think you have any way to “Demand” the pictures come down . If you choose to not read Claycord then you can imagine the pictures are down.

@Mayor-at first I thought it was one of the posters that use to have fun saying “I didn’t give you the authorization to show my house/yard/accident etc” (an old running joke on Claycord)

53 palermo June 28, 2013 at 9:37 AM

Drunk before 6 p.m.? That person needs rehab. Accident my @ss, if you have been drinking and get behind the wheel that is INTENTIONAL

54 Enfield303 June 28, 2013 at 9:57 AM

Andrew is right. Diva is just trolling. An accident is spilling your milk reaching across the table. A mistake is leaving the house with mismatched socks. Hitting someone while driving drunk is neither, it’s manslaughter. Nice try “PittsburgDiva”.

55 More importantly.... June 28, 2013 at 10:28 AM

any word on the motorcyclist???

56 interesting June 28, 2013 at 10:36 AM

I hope the man she hit is doing okay.

WHO DAY DRINKS IN CLAYTON?

57 Idiocracy June 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM

Typical Loser in Co Co County! There’s a lot of lames like this girl Acting like they’re cool going out drinking 24/7 to fit the “Im Cooler than you Crowd”. Drunk before 6pm ? Can we say “ISSUES”! Im sure she’s probably unemployed, Limited education, and feels entitled to drink her life away as she tears up the fabric of her family all in the name of “goodtimes”. There are some major idiots like this all over! Bad Parenting, shame on your fam and especially you lil miss ditz, handle your sh#t! Bet you all any money she’s got 2 kids from 2 different dads, gets hand out money, and has a limited IQ/Social skills lol

58 Friend June 28, 2013 at 11:15 AM

I am a personal friend of the man on the motorcycle. He is a super athlete, has a nice family, good job, many close friends. I can’t tell you how he is doing, but it’s not good. He is in the ICU this morning instead of at work as a healthcare provider. He was just driving home from work when this young woman changed his life forever.

Anybody who gives drunk drivers ANY kind of free pass is an idiot. They know what they are doing and choose to risk the lives of other innocent people. It doesn’t matter if she planned to ruin his life or kill him…..she still did it, and when you’re driving drunk, it’s NOT A MISTAKE OR AN ACCIDENT.

59 Parsnip June 28, 2013 at 11:23 AM

@Connie Dobbs #47 — Yeah. She does look pretty sad, doesn’t she?Regrettably, I’d think the photos of her victim are even less flattering … I think she’s blown her July 4th.

60 To Friend.... June 28, 2013 at 11:42 AM

Please know there are many people out here who will be thinking about and saying heavy duty prayers for your friend. Nothing but good thoughts sent his way!

61 The Mamba June 28, 2013 at 11:53 AM

That’s weird that someone from Pittsburgh would have some confusion about personal responsibility.

62 smc626 June 28, 2013 at 12:12 PM

Re: Posting her picture –

I think it is absolutely the best thing to do. Not to cause her more grief, but to make people think. She looks like a beautiful young lady, the girl next door. Maybe she is a college student, or someone who has graduated and just starting her life. She could be my daughter, my niece, your sister, your girlfriend, your babysitter. And if she’s guilty, what does she have to look forward to now? A picture is worth a thousand words, and more…

63 Clayton Weeds June 28, 2013 at 12:18 PM

It’s sad all around. Sad her face is posted before she even goes to court. Sad all the people who come on to terrorize a young girl who made a serious mistake. We are no perfect either.
My heart goes out to her and the person on the motorcycle.
I wish People would think before buying one of those death traps, just as much as they would think before driving high.

64 SF CityGirl June 28, 2013 at 12:35 PM

So typical for a POS Pittsburgh resident to comment in & for the defense of the soon to be defendant. Who are you to make demands that the picture be taken down? That’s why Pittsburgh is such a srewed up place to live, it’s because of people like Pdiva. Grossssssssss!

65 Parsnip June 28, 2013 at 1:28 PM

@Clayton Weeds #63 — “the people who come on to terrorize a young girl who made a serious mistake.”

Close enough. Edit to read “a DRUNK young girl.” And the “allegation” will be proven in court when her BAC is released in court.

And “terrorize?” Poor kid. But my concern is for her victim.

Now, of course, if this were an elderly driver, it would automatically be judged that the license should be revoked without even knowing a probable cause.

66 mskitty June 28, 2013 at 1:36 PM

I have to agree with most on this post–she is every bit screwed (literally); and it shows (immensely)..

67 Anon2you June 28, 2013 at 2:15 PM

@PittsburgDiva – What more can I say, than has already been said other than…Are you stupid or what?

Hope the motorcycle rider is OK, at first I thought it might be my nephew who lives in Clayton, glad to find out it was not. This girl is totally F’d up and deservedly so…she will be lucky, if she didn’t kill the guy, so at least she has that (so far)…otherwise no sympathy for her whatsoever…

68 Jacki June 28, 2013 at 2:43 PM

I don’t want to condemn anyone without all the facts but whoever the person is that caused this accident, whether it is the woman in the photo or someone else, they need to take responsibility for their actions. If that person was impaired while driving because of anything other than a sudden illness, this was not an accident. It was willful negligence and they deserve public humiliation as well as jail. Just being stupid and not being intentionally malicious or even being sorry isn’t going to help the victim.

69 Grower4ever June 28, 2013 at 3:41 PM

I SHOUD hit her with the sig

70 wooga3 June 28, 2013 at 7:33 PM

hoping for a speedy recovery for the bike rider… prayers & thoughts are with him & his family & also for the young girl who’s life is screwed because of her actions…

71 C isa douche June 29, 2013 at 3:52 PM

I’m on neither side but by reading all this, C overreacts and makes a deal out of nothing in order to start something. People r hurt. Don’t fight. Go to anger management if u have issues C
