The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Investigation Division has launched a new Facebook page dedicated to unsolved homicides and missing persons.

The Contra Costa Sheriff Unsolved Homicide/Missing Persons Facebook page was created as a way to keep the spotlight on these cases which are still considered open. The Investigation Division is making these cases public in an effort to generate new information or leads in hopes of solving them, prosecuting those who are responsible and giving friends, families and loved ones of the victims some closure.

They ask that anyone with tips send an email to or call the anonymous tip line at 866-846-3592 to leave a voice message.

Please visit the page and check regularly for updates.

Using social media is a sign of the times. Why no for crime-fighting? Good idea and time will tell if it pays off.

No need for anything but Claycord May 24, 2013 at 11:01 AM

Whenever a crime is committed, the all-knowing posters on Claycord should be consulted; they’ll solve the crime in minutes.

What will be the reward to the person who does Concord PDs job by helping solve an open investigation? Wish I could create a Facebook page to have someone else do my job.
