  1. Tell us about your business in five sentences or less. Pacific Coast Carpet has been a Concord institution for over 35 years. Family owned by the Hopfner  brothers  John, Bob, and Chris.  We are a “Diamond Certified” company. We offer both residential and commercial flooring, including carpet, hardwood, vinyl, tile, and laminate, with prompt professional installation to all of Contra Costa and beyond. Our customer service and quality reputation are second to none.
  2. How long has your business been open? Pacific Coast Carpet was established in 1976
  3. What is the thing you like most about your business? Our quality, one on one customer service is what we like most. We treat every client like our first.
  4. How many hours per week do you dedicate to your business? Owning a small business, the dedication of time is unlimited, including evenings and weekends.
  5. What are your professional goals? Our professional goals include: Continuing to grow in the community, while providing each client with professional service.
  6. What experience did you have before opening? 7 years experience prior to opening in 1976.
  7. Did anyone tell you not to open your business? No
  8. What makes your business unique? Our business is unique because unlike other flooring operations, we carry many flooring options “in stock” for immediate installation. We also have hundreds of room size remnants in every color. We can also make custom sized area rugs, with full binding services as well.
  9. Besides your business, what is your other favorite LOCAL business? One of our favorite businesses in Concord is The Molding Company.
  10. When was the last time you took a vacation, and where did you go? Vacations happen few and far between, but my last one was Orlando in January , which was part business conference and part fun with the family.

Pacific Coast carpet is the best, Chris one of the owners helped me with floors and was great. My hardwood floors look so nice.

I used them back in 1985. They put new flooring in our kitchen and dining area. A couple if years after that they re-carpeted our entire house.

I’m currently getting my place completely renovated and my floor guy told me to go here for the carpet on my stairs. I just bought from them two days ago. Great customer service, products, and turn around time! I will definitely be going back if I need to in the future. After getting my place renovated, I learned quickly what stores were great and which one’s are not. Pacific Coast is one of the BEST!!!

funny you all talk about them being the best…my wife and I went in there looking for a nice remnant and the lady working treated us like we were bothering the heck out of her…We went to Home Depot and they talked us into getting our whole house carpeted…that $4800 Pacific Coast missed…and during the recession…maybe we’ll try them again when we need new carpet again in 7 or 8 years…sad they seem really nice in this article

@#5 — $4800 for an entire house? Makes me wonder if their subcontractors are licensed with CSLB. I know of one carpet store I’ll never go to again — that one off Willow Pass. The carpet is beautiful — the installation horrible. They can’t measure carpets. I’ve had it for ten years. It’s the next replacement on the to-do list. (But it won’t be through Home Depot — or the one on Willow Pass!)

Can I just say I love this place. The owner gave me a great deal on carpet and padding when I was just starting out my child care business. I got a 10×10 carpet and padding for $200!!! He really went out of his way to make a $$$ stretch.

This is the only place we will go to for carpet, hard wood, or any other kind of flooring. They did our house with laminated flooring about 7 years ago, and then we remodeled. Unfortunately we couldn’t match the floor, but not for them trying it was discontinued. So we redid all our floors and as usual, customer service was beyond exceptional! We’ll soon be redoing our bedrooms and will most definitly go back to them.
As for Home Depot, remember you get what you pay for and good luck with that carpet and installation. You’ll find you’re the one that missed out.

I think I used them to buy a remnant that fitted my room. They were really nice to me and I was impressed cause I know I didn’t spend much money.

PCC does an awesome job! John used to help the Broker of my Real Estate firm, before it closed, and they always did a great job on time and in budget!

They had me sold until I just read their favorite other business is the molding company. That place is horrible. Great for contractors but zero customer service for homeowners.

Guess its time to go to HomeDepot.

@ConcordJoe The “Moulding Company” is one of my favorite businesses in the area. Maybe you are confusing them with the Moulding Masters across the street from this business. It is confusing when nobody spells it correctly. The “Moulding Company” treats everyone with respect and does not offer installation. I will be visiting this carpet business soon.

I had PCC redo my carpet just a short time ago and they were great. I will be doing business with them again.

@Concord joe The business we referred to is The molding Company which is in North Concord , not the one across the street on Detroit just like anonares explained .

Yes I know. Im not confusing them. The one across from costco has way better customer service. I had a very bad experience with The molding company off bates ave. Just my opinion.

I’ve used Pacific coast and the molding company and had excellent customer service at both, and the biggest part for me (after the great prices) was the fact that the turned up on time to deliver/install and left no mess behind. That’s a big deal in my crazy house :)

I was very happy with the carpet they installed the first time. The second time we wanted carpet the lady in the office was so rude she said “you have been calling around all over for this carpet”. I called them first because I was happy the first time around but then they didn’t get my next order.
