Funny Sign – “NO PEE ZONE” on Detroit Avenue in Concord

Here’s something you don’t see everyday, but should, in certain parts of Claycord, where humans think it’s ok to pee everywhere.

This is actually on the side of a building on Detroit Avenue in Concord, at a dog training school.

We live above the Oakhurst golf course and constantly see golfers relieving themselves on our property line. There happens to be a restroom right at the entry of this particular area and I just don’t understand it. I thought the golfers at Oakhurst Country Club had a little more class than that.

Schmee February 26, 2013 at 11:11 AM

Granted dogs can’t read (that we know of) but maybe it’s for the school..?

biggus thinkus February 26, 2013 at 11:14 AM

maybe we can put that on the wall behind Don’s Market.
or FoodMaxx,
or Safeway,
or behind Baldwin Park,
or near the Concord BART elevators,
or behind Fry’s….

The Closer February 26, 2013 at 11:14 AM

Looks like a challenge has been offered.

Dragon February 26, 2013 at 11:21 AM

So, are the dogs taught to read the “no pee zone” sign?

12ga February 26, 2013 at 11:28 AM

I’m gonna pee on that wall

Dorothy February 26, 2013 at 11:30 AM

Could be useful in parks.

Sacto Rob February 26, 2013 at 11:40 AM

Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco) has proposed creating a Homeless Bill of Rights which would specifically legalize public urination, as well as public inebriation. That’s what Progressives call “Social Justice.”

Felino February 26, 2013 at 11:41 AM

They must not offer restroom use to the dog owners.

jtkatec February 26, 2013 at 12:03 PM

That’s discriminatory.

What about a “No Cee Zone” or “No Dee Zone”, why’s it got to be Pee?

Anon2you February 26, 2013 at 12:06 PM

Translation into Scumbazeze: Please Piss HERE!

Rollo Tomasi February 26, 2013 at 12:20 PM

Good one! To the powers that be: you have put considerable effort in maintaining Todos Santos Park to the extreme, could you please put the same effort into other parts of town?

Pooping Allowed February 26, 2013 at 12:28 PM

So no peeing, but it looks like pooping is okay 😉

CatWoman February 26, 2013 at 12:28 PM

it is at the school-so the reading course has to be on the agenda between the biting and synchronized lap-licking courses. lol

The Mamba February 26, 2013 at 12:38 PM

My dog is brilliant, but she can’t read signs.

We are now officially a 3rd world country

Many years ago I used to work in corporate America and met with Senior VPs and CEOs to market my products. I will never forget attending a youth softball game with a group of these sophisticated corporate officers when 3 asked me to turn my head so they could relieve themselves in a phone booth.Ewwww! Ewwww!

Some Guy February 26, 2013 at 1:31 PM

Challenge Accepted!

Anon2you February 26, 2013 at 1:37 PM

@ anon #17 Must have been many, many years ago, phone booths died nearly a decade ago now. The cell phone got rid of Phone Booth pee stalls…

Antler February 26, 2013 at 1:55 PM

That dog school building shares a parking lot with Rachael Dunn’s Chocolate Factory (south of Costco…..and you’ll see red ribbon wound on the tree trunks out front). It’s a “MUST VISIT” place!

anon February 26, 2013 at 1:56 PM

Yes, it was a many, many years ago. LOL. But I bet the corporate officers are still relieving themselves on something.

The Grant February 26, 2013 at 2:02 PM

now if they only put that sign before the escalator at the embarcadero BART station….

Jojo Potato February 26, 2013 at 2:26 PM

My previous house had a fence along the Diablo Hills golf course. There was a constant stream of golfers peeing along their side of the fence. After a while I learned that a large rock thrown from my side against the fence would scare them and make them mess their pants too. Great fun. And I kept all the drivers they threw over also.

TODDNOXIOUS February 26, 2013 at 2:31 PM

I played TPC Scottsdale and the starter was giving us course rules and told which holes the restrooms were located. He also indicated that any tree was also okay to urinate on. TPC Scottsdale winds through a housing community. So I did use the trees!

The Grant February 26, 2013 at 2:45 PM

living on a golf course is nothing special except for the excitement of out of bound golf balls flying overhead

CatWoman February 26, 2013 at 3:18 PM

Antler-I agree with you. That is some of the most delicious candy!

anonanonagain February 26, 2013 at 3:47 PM

How about putting that sign down on Clayton road behind the Safeway, near CVS by the creek, the liquor stores that scatter the area and many more buildings that people like to spray down. I realize there are no restrooms for the homeless. If they want one they have to maintain it. Right….

JM February 26, 2013 at 5:46 PM

This is the building used by the Mount Diablo Dog Training Club. They want the dogs who come for training to be good citizens so the club can continue to use the building. It pays to keep the landlord happy.

Big Al February 26, 2013 at 6:24 PM

Hot summer day in San Francisco. Smells like urine roses… Yellow roses.

Dennis February 26, 2013 at 6:29 PM

Are the fire hydrants also posted?

Piper February 26, 2013 at 7:24 PM

Urinetown, anyone?

Connie Dobbs February 26, 2013 at 7:40 PM

Urine luck?

rgb February 26, 2013 at 7:59 PM

How many of us have been in a situation that you would hope no one could see but you could not help but find a place to go It would be so humiliating to be caught. Hope that never happens to any of you

OhGoodGravy February 26, 2013 at 8:35 PM

rgb @33, one of my biggest fears is being stuck in traffic on the Bay Bridge because of a car accident, heavy event traffic, earthquake, whatever. And then finally having to get out of the car and use the bathroom. I actually carry an afghan for shielding and a plastic bag for the “deposit” just in case. Am sure I would not be the only one, and I am sure others would understand, but it still makes me very anxious to imagine it.

OMG February 26, 2013 at 9:16 PM

If you’re caught peeing in public, you must register as a sex offender…FYI.

Starfish February 26, 2013 at 9:34 PM

No, no, a thousand times no! The sign says “No Pee Zone”; no matter how many times you ask! Please take the pee to a bathroom. Will dogs know the difference? lol

Sparky February 26, 2013 at 11:31 PM

Might be a live wire exposed there. It could be a pissaster just waiting to happen.

Love:-) February 27, 2013 at 7:37 PM

My neighbors let his dog peeing in my apartment door. Eww

Miss GMC February 27, 2013 at 8:07 PM

Miss GMC

I’m one of the trainers at Mt. Diablo Dog Training Club. The hardest job as a trainer is to train the dog owners to be a responsible dog owner. If the dogs could read we wouldn’t have a problem. 🙂

huey9k February 27, 2013 at 10:27 PM

Mr. Mayor,

After seeing the comments you have allowed to be posted on this blog, and seeing my post not listed, I am forced to conclude your blog is not worth my custom. I will of course be avoiding it from here on out.

One who expected better from you. February 27, 2013 at 11:23 PM

@huey9k, Thanks for the kind words. Just checked, I haven’t deleted ONE comment from you, I don’t think EVER!

I expected better from you, I figured you would check the facts before you jumped to conclusions.

huey9k February 28, 2013 at 4:24 AM

I posted a comment regarding paintball usage on golfing morons. I figured they wouldn’t report anything to the police out of concern for being outed as an uncivilized caveman.

And of course, only now do I hear about a server crash from a friend who laughed at my post. The disgrace is mine, and I truly apologize, Mr. Mayor.

co-co-res February 28, 2013 at 9:51 AM
