Contra Costa Camp Fair is a new free expo coming to Lafayette on Sunday, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with free activities and over 80 exhibitors allowing attendees to view a smorgasbord of camps, enrichment programs, performing arts, preschools, daycare, sports and other summer programs available this year.
This free event is presented by Bay Area Festivals, Inc., which also produces Bay Area KidFest (24th annual edition May 25-27 in Concord), Walnut Creek FamilyFest and KNBR Big League Dreams Baseball Skills Clinics. Bay Area KidFest has been voted Best Community Event for three consecutive years by readers of Claycord.com with over 15,000 votes cast in the 2012 poll last month. Bay Area Festivals has donated nearly $60,000 to educational, health, sports and youth non-profits in the past three years.
Producer Jay Bedecarre says, “We hope to bring our creativity and expertise to Contra Costa Camp Fair, enabling families a one-stop shopping experience as they plan their summer activities.” He adds that there will be a variety of camps for children, teens and families including day camps, overnight, performing arts, scouts and sports.
Contra Costa Camp Fair is being held in the large gymnasium at Acalanes High School, which is located just one-half mile off Highway 24 at 1200 Pleasant Hill Rd. convenient to all of Contra Costa as well as East Bay residents coming through the Caldecott Tunnel.
The Camp Fair venue will feature non-stop free activities with Radio Disney, JoJo the Clown, face painting, putting green and more.
