The Concord Police Weekly Burglary Report – 16 Burglaries in the Past 7 Days

This week, Concord had 16 burglaries. The week before, there were 14, and before that, Concord had 16.

The last two numbers in each address have been deleted to respect the privacy of the victim(s).

According to the Concord Police, the report shown above might not include burglaries that are still under investigation.

Only a few weeks ago we saw about a third less crime reported.

The trend, while low, is somewhat alarming. I like to listen to the CPD dispatch radio when I can. The police respond to a large number of suspicious circumstance calls every day. For now, I believe that is the best deterrent to crime.

Looking forward, will more police, more private security, more cameras with people actually monitoring them and a tougher DA be need to curtail crime?

I would like to see CPD allowed to stop and search suspicious looking people. If your not a crook you have nothing to worry about. If you are a crook, then perhaps Walnut Creek or Danville is a better place to hang out. I know this idea is not popular here, but where stop and search is used, crime is lower. People fear racial profiling, that’s a chance that needs to be taken. Tough times call for tough action. But, not to worry, this is the land of the left and stop and search could never be approved here, no matter how high the crime rate may become.

Wow,, if you want to live in a police state with little to no rights, I hear Iraq is looking for some new civilians! Feel free to go If you think you have it soooo bad here in the land of the left!

I for one will take my chances in “unsafe” freedom, rather than detained false security…

I witnessed the “end of” a burglary on Claycord Ave on the 19th. I saw the guy running out of the house. The alarm went off and maybe 2 minutes later the perp was leaving the house with some goods. I tried running after him, but he had a car around the corner and was gone by the time I could get there to see the vehicle. I am bummed. I was sooo close in getting some information to get this thief! People are not responding to house alarms I guess, because there were 4 out of 5 of us at home and I was the only one to come out and see what was going on. Maybe we should have a neighborhood watch thing so we know what to look and listen for. So much to do…..

I agree with Howard. Stop and search works in NYC. It will work in Concord.
