Vehicle -vs- Pedestrian on Concord Avenue

February 19, 2013 · 13 comments

A vehicle apparently struck a pedestrian on Concord Avenue at Fremont Street just before 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.

The collision occured on eastbound Concord Avenue.

The pedestrian was injured, however, it is not clear if the victim suffered any major injuries.

Force= Mass x Acceleration

Yes, the laws of physics apply to humans too.

I hope the victim is OK.

Or at least able to fully recover.

Looking forward to details.

So you wait until there’s a brake
in traffic , the cars should be going
35 mph, so you start to cross.
Meanwhile at the stop up the road
The light goes green and you mash
The accelerator so the guy on the right
dosent beat you to the lane merger,
quickly your doing 25, 35, 45 mph +
ha that guy thought he’d get a—
Thump, gee officer , he just came
Outta nowhere,
You all or so smart, wish I could figure out
the answers as quickly as you do.
But I guess that’s how type A’s are.
They are always right, always first.

No crosswalk for crossing Concord Blvd there? Tell me its not another case of jaywalking.

Well, it seems that its still open seasons on pedestrians in Concord. At least nobody died this time.

So Many Stupid Pedestrians ASSUME they have the right of way! It may be the LAW but it isn’t reality and you MUST look both ways, gauge traffic speeds, BEFORE you step off the curb into the street! Remember! The smallest car is far larger and heavier than most humans. You Will Lose!

It’s just natural selection at work. nothing to see here.

@Mimi (original)

How do you know the pedestrian was jaywalking, genius???? all the article stated was that “A vehicle apparently struck a pedestrian on Concord Avenue at Fremont Street just before 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.”
most likely someone was trying to cross the street at a crosswalk and some retard/concordian/text messaging person ran them down.

unless you are one of those typical concordians who believe that cars always have the right of way and cant be bothered to stop for pedestrians. learn to stop and be more aware instead of playing games text messaging your fat boyfriend.

So, if you were driving (mostlikely also textmessaging your fat gf) through a red light and some truck rammed into you — would that qualify as “natural selection” too. just asking….

More people get killed by car accidents than any other method. That is a fact! When it’s your time to go–it’s your time; that’s all. Not as “natural” as anyone would want, but there it is.
