A man was robbed of cash & his cell phone on Monday afternoon in Concord.

The crime occurred just before 3pm in the 1800 block of Laguna Street. According to the Concord Police, the suspects were two Hispanic males armed with a gun. Police say they fled the area in a Silver Honda.

No injuries were reported.

I thought it was illegal to carry a gun in California? Oh maybe they had a Concealed Carry Permit. Now I get it.

Alleged criminals on probation, tweekers.

Let’s hurry up and get them on welfare so they won’t have to be alleged criminals on probation any longer.

Of course the green cards will help a lot as well.

Wonder where they brought the gun from? Certainly is impossible to get one here illegally.

3 any more info? January 29, 2013 at 10:12 AM

I walk through that area…any more info would be helpful. Was the victim elderly, or possibly a gang member, or a businessman, or conservative-looking, etc.? Did they know each other?

Mainly, is this something a working professional walking through then neighborhood needs to be worried about for themself?

It is somthing u have to worry about that area is horrible. My house around there has be

In this neighborhood hell yes! I live here as do many good people but lets face it, this and the monument corridor connect and a lot of bad happens. The other night a fire truck was in one of the apartment buildings and there were a few people milling around looking inside for something, they took off about ten minutes later when the ambulance was coming down the road. So to answer your question, walk in multiples if possible, this area has gone to crap with not enough police to be everywhere.

Broken into 3 times n my cars broken into at least once a month. Plus u cant get cops out either a customer at a local business had to run away from an attempted robbery at their car n it took the cops an hour to get there. The crime is going up n getting more violent cause they know cops wont come

This never happened before that SOCIALIST KENYAN LIBERAL was in office. Stupid voters! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!

12 @ Mike January 29, 2013 at 11:42 AM

Sure, blame Obama for this. Your not going to lose your precious guns, just your weapons used for mass extermination.

13 Anonaslob January 29, 2013 at 11:44 AM

If half the gun shows and gun shops would do their job and not sell to idiots then we wouldn’t have so many guns on the street. Where in the hell do you think these animals are getting them??

14 20 Police cars January 29, 2013 at 11:55 AM

i’m assuming the [Armed Robbery on Laguna St. in Concord] was Monday.

later in the day… just a block away….

6pm Monday, 20 Police cars surrounded Concord Gateway building (10 floors)
(some police sniffing dogs)
traffice blocked off for 30+ minutes….

What was this? Armed Robbery in the building?

@hkm #2 – In the apporox. 57 word story depicted above; how did you come up with the probation tie?

16 Mr Pink January 29, 2013 at 12:11 PM

Gee, and the Monument Blvd area was such a nice place to live during the Bush administration.

17 Howard K. Mullins III January 29, 2013 at 12:14 PM

@Don’t Censor Me Bro

That’s a “tongue in cheek” comment I have used here and on other posts as it appears that the majority of criminals apprehended these days are on probation.

18 GoodGrief January 29, 2013 at 12:49 PM

@anonaslob – Know the facts. It is a violation of the law to sell in CA without going through an FFL so it is not gunshows & dealers these CRIMINALS are getting their guns. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid.

After Obama’s immigration reform, this won’t happen any more.

Carlos and Juan will be well educated and have high-paying jobs.

20 BCuzItzClaycord..... January 29, 2013 at 1:17 PM

This has nothing to do with Bush, Obama, Kennedy, Truman, FDR etc…….It has to do with City leaders turning a blind eye to what is happening to Concord. The people that live in the area that are sick of this need to go to EVERY city council meeting and complain until the city palces more police in the area. If we don’t have enough police than get aide from other agencies. But until the population of that area speaks up nothing will happen

I saw those guys driving away like a bat out of hell. There were 3 guys in the car and the car was a older Audie

22 At 1:10 p.m. today, there are 4 cop cars at an apt. on Detroit near Laguna January 29, 2013 at 1:35 PM

I decided to drive where I needed to go today instead (I had to go through that neighborhood) after reading this. I told myself I didn’t really need to worry. Then I passed 4 cop cars at an apt. on Detroit near Laguna. It looked like they’d parked in a hurry…

23 Border Patrol January 29, 2013 at 1:53 PM

CENSORED ACCORDING TO CLAYCORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let’s see attract the low skilled with little education to the state with taxpayer handouts. Oh and because prisons are overcrowded let’s just send them back to the counties they came from. Then counties will have to let go misdemeanor criminals because there’s no room in the jails.
democrats wouldn’t endanger the public, no they just wouldn’t.

25 Anon2you January 29, 2013 at 2:27 PM

I bet the gun was as illegal as the “Hispanic Males” that fled the scene, in most likely an illegal vehicle (stolen maybe, definitely NOT registered to either one of the critters involved)…

26 NoMoreFreeRide January 29, 2013 at 2:30 PM

Hispanics on Laguna St.? No way! LOL

27 Laguna/Ellis resident in 1977 January 29, 2013 at 3:04 PM

This is very disturbing! I don’t remember who was President (Nixon or Carter?) definitely better days. I was 19 in my first apartment, paid $110.00/mo for a 2bd, I walked to Bart every morning and night; and up to Fry’s Grocery Store and stroll to Ellis Lake to feed the ducks. Now my 23 yr. old son lives in the same area, and work’s at Fry’s (Electronics) and rides his bicycle to and from Willow Pass. If Concord PD can’t patrol, less than a mile from the station, maybe INS can infiltrate the area and check the validity of all tenants in the neighborhood. Shouldn’t landlords have the same standards as Employers?

28 Frito Bandito January 29, 2013 at 6:17 PM

@# 27 It was Nixon, Ford, Carter.Reagan,Bush,Clinton,Bush II,Obama, and next: Zapata/Villia..

29 V January 29, 2013 at 6:24 PM

an armed robbery on Laguna, in the middle of the day….shocking!! NOT!!! This kind of low-life activity has been going on for YEARS. Don’t blame the President, as this kind of crap has been going on for longer than Obama has been in office. If you feel the need to point fingers, then point them at the fine, duly elected CITY officials.

They had the Mexican version of a CCP, which is ironically recognized by California while any other state in the union CCPs are not.

And the accordion played on…

Oh really? A silver Honda? It looks white to me. No wonder the driver could have cared less that it was burning.
