Two of the three suspects wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting in Concord on Saturday have been arrested in the City of Oakland, according to the Concord Police Department.
The following update on the drive-by shooting is from Lt. David Hughes with the Concord Police Department:
On Saturday, January 12, 2013, at about 7:45 PM, Concord Officers responded to the area of Monument Boulevard and Detroit Avenue regarding a the report of a shooting into a vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the vehicle owner, who stated that while he was at a restaurant in the Park ‘N Shop shopping center earlier, he was involved in a parking dispute with three suspects in another car. After driving from the restaurant, the suspects followed the victim and chased him in their vehicle. During the chase, one of the suspects discharged a firearm, striking the victim’s vehicle. This occurred in the area of Monument Boulevard and Detroit Avenue. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction. No one was injured during the shooting, and the victim did not know the suspects.
Subsequent investigation by patrol Officers resulted in the suspect vehicle being located by Oakland Police in the early morning hours of January 13th.
Concord Officers responded to the City of Oakland and two suspects were located near the vehicle. Probable cause was established to arrest them for their involvement in the earlier shooting, and they were transported back to the Concord Police Department.
The incident is actively being investigated by Concord PD Detectives. At this time, no further information is being released to the public.
