Contra Costa Firefighters Union Hall Burglarized – Several Items Stolen

November 14, 2012 15:00 pm · 34 comments

The following information is from the Contra Costa Firefighters Union Hall:

On November 10th, the Contra Costa Firefighter’s union hall was burglarized. The suspects stole numerous items from our Honor Guard detail.

These items included several chrome axes, flag cases, and flag stands. The Honor Guard uses various types of equipment in the performance of its duties.

The Honor Guard is dedicated to honoring fallen firefighters, their families, and Department members, past and present. We are deeply saddened that these suspects stole these very important and very symbolic items.

Should anybody have any information or see anybody trying to sell these items, please contact your local police department or contact our office. Thank you.

Why would anyone want to do this? This is horrible!

2 Parsnip November 14, 2012 at 3:24 PM

As the crook(s) start strutting around and bragging about what they’ve accomplished, anyone overhearing and reporting them would have a whole lot *more* to brag about.

How low. I can’t believe that anyone would do this. It is terrible. I really wish there would be more nice things to report instead of so much crime. It’s a real tragedy. I hope that these things are found.

14 Mr. Future November 14, 2012 at 4:26 PM

It’s just a matter of time before camera’s are everywhere!!

15 Killjoy November 14, 2012 at 4:43 PM

And what the hell are they going to do with the items they stole?
Chrome fire axes? It’s not as if they can sell those. People are going to know exactly where they came from.

It just goes to show that criminals are indeed stupid.

16 Contra Costa Taxpayer November 14, 2012 at 4:50 PM

There’s an example of the pot calling the kettle “black”. Contra Costa Firefighters are accusing us of theft. I’ll make you an offer CCFire, you return all the money you’ve pilfered from our county’s coffers, and I will personally replace eveything you claim was stolen from (y)our hall.

17 Arthur November 14, 2012 at 4:50 PM

Any second now would be the right time to drag any phrase with “karma” in it out behind the barn and put it out of its misery.

18 Location? November 14, 2012 at 4:59 PM

Where in Claycord is their hall located??

19 robbed November 14, 2012 at 5:24 PM

Burglarized? When have firefighters ever burglarized the public?

20 Bob H. November 14, 2012 at 5:29 PM

@16 Whow- are your brain wires crossed. I think it is about bed time at the home. Night-Night

21 Contra Costa Taxpayer November 14, 2012 at 5:45 PM

I assume its “our” hall because firefighters are paid with taxes? Does that mean that Chevron also owns their employee’s union hall or perhaps their homes too?

Quite the socialist view point on private property you have their…

22 Larry November 14, 2012 at 6:10 PM

@16 Re-Read the story posted.Do you have a brother that is a fallen firefighter? Did not think so.I do,Use your brain if you have one before you post on this subject again.

23 Peanuts Mommy November 14, 2012 at 7:36 PM

@16…What an ignorant thing to say. I think you should mark the outside of your house with that quote…like maybe on the garage door in large, red print. That way when you need CPR, a fire put out etc…they will know how you feel before choosing to risk their life for you.

24 O-bam-bam November 14, 2012 at 7:39 PM

i dont know why anybody worries about these dirtbags… these type of people ALWAYS get hit back with karma. ALWAYS.

25 crazytech58 November 14, 2012 at 7:59 PM

Could you post the address of this hall, maybe someone will report seeing something suspicious in the area, never know…..

26 RanchgirlCA November 14, 2012 at 8:26 PM

We are surrounded by dirtbags!!

27 CAPSLOCKED November 14, 2012 at 8:33 PM

@Contra Costa Taxpayer you are STUPID!

28 Disgusted November 14, 2012 at 8:39 PM

@CC taxpayer, (which I doubt), my offer still stands you coward. Anywhere, anytime!!! I will figure you out!

29 Umm ok November 14, 2012 at 9:07 PM

Taxpayer,
I understand your displeasure with the salaries, the pensions, and the unions. However when the county pays a firefighter for their job, the money becomes that of a private citizen. According to your logic, the money you are paid to do whAtever it is is you do it still belongs to the company that pays you and they still own you?

30 kilo November 14, 2012 at 10:48 PM

Taxpayer- You seriously have something wrong with you. We get it. You hate all public safety. You hate all public employees. Why don’t you go live out in a hut in the middle of nowhere or perhaps on a remote island somewhere. That way you won’t have to pay any taxes and when you need the help of a trained public safety personel no one will be there. That’s what you want isn’t it?

I believe this is the address of the hall:

@ CC Taxpayer. Why don’t you be a man and post your name instead of your alias?

33 Trade November 15, 2012 at 9:50 AM

Anyone making negative comments on the Political and financial issues going on with the CC fire district has no class. This is about a theft of items used to honor fallen hero’s!!

34 It's 'Meme' is that you Ma? November 15, 2012 at 11:24 AM

Okay Okay Okay – - -

Before we get too up in arms people…shouldn’t we wait for the – “full investigation” – before we pass judgement…?

This could actually be some sort of inside job by those who feel that the union failed to represent them, if not also alienated them from the constituents that they serve…

Let’s see – they stole Honor Items from the Honor Guard…?
Is somebody trying to send a symbolic message back at those in charge…?
Let’s see – a sort of twisted dishonor to the honored because they feel dishonored misrepresented or something approaching that – hmmm…it could happen?
It’s a little more daring, and yes – you could say cowardly too – like people busting up Grave Markers and trashing the Cemetery…I’d ask ‘em – “do you really feel all better now?” – “honey?”

Or – is it thug-kids being thug-kids…? Or thieve’s being thieves’…?

As far as being brought to justice =’s even if they get caught…I’m not gonna try breaking any record’s for holding my breath!

As we see the further breakdown of our society all around us – will those thing’s we hold sacred and dear – even secular item’s honoring those who have gone before us becoming the targets of theft and destruction bent to intimidate and discourage our faith and resolve to fight for what is right for ourselves and our family’s and those who will surly come after us?

That’s where you all come in! – It can’t be just a conversation only!

Do the right thing – and pass it on!

Love, “Meme”.
