Concord High School Students Will Be Trick-or-Treating Tonight….For Food

October 31, 2012 13:00 pm · 15 comments

Teams of Concord High School students will be trick or treating for food and monetary donations tonight between 6pm and 8pm for the Tesoro 2nd Annual Scare Away Hunger Food Drive.

Tesoro will match the pounds of food and monetary donations up to $5,000 and also make a matching donation to Concord High School for their programs.

Students will be covering the following neighborhood: North side of Clayton Road bordered by Farm Bureau Road and Bailey Road.

You should have received a paper bag in advance for the food drive. If you live in those neighborhoods, make sure you fill a bag of food for those in need, if you have extra to spare.

You are also welcome to drop off a bag of food at the food bank truck parked at Concord High (4200 Concord Blvd.) from 5pm to 8pm.

Together, we can “Scare Away Hunger”.

Contrary to high school students trick-or-treating for alcohol.

I have the bag by the door ready to give them tonight when they come by. I am so glad to see the young folks doing this.

Wouldn’t it have been nice if all the high schools participated this one night! Great activity for the teens and the community!

Duane at #5 ~ ~ ~ You made me chuckle because I DID get a bag, put it in a “safe” place, and ????????? But they will be glad to take ANY bag of food you are able to spare. Mine is in a Trader Joe’s bag on the front porch: I attached a sheet of paper with “Concord High School food drive” on it in big marking pen letters. Done!

Duane, you can bring a bag of food to Concord High tomorrow. Best to come by after about 8:30am, when the kids are in class and it’s a bit easier to get into the parking lot.

Thank you to the people who opened their pantries and wallets to help ones who need assistance. The students were motivated to do something to make this place a better place to live…

From 6:00 to 8:30 a grand total of forty trick or treaters in amazing costumes and grateful attitdes. Must have given out atleast 150 pieces to those involved. We live on a Circle off of Soule in Pleasant Hill which can be dark and uninviting so most were from the neighborhood with a sprinkling of outside vagabonds.
