I’ve known Tyson for just about all of those 24 years. He’s a great guy and an outstanding officer! Congrats Tyson…

I remember him when I was in high school at Alhambra High School. He was the school resource officer at the time. He was always very friendly and very professional. Im very pleased to see he was awarded the officer of the year award!!!

A well deserved honor for Officer Muncher. He is a wonder role model for the children of Martinez.

As far as this citizen is concerned Sgt. Paul Starzyk (Rest in peace) is Martinez Police Officer of the Year, this year and every year that I continue to draw breath.
With all due respect to Cpl.Muncher and his accomplishments.

@russ, it’s “Tyson” not Tyler.

Martinez once had a great Reserve Program – Huge asset to the taxpayers. I hope Tyson builds it to be on par with Walnut Creek PD. Pleasant Hill POA is so pathetic and self serving that they don’t endorse city council candidates who want more Reserve Officers.

@ Russ- That is Martinez City Council member Lara Delaney. She toned down her hair for that night. Here is a more representative picture.

Be careful though, she used blackmail during the last election season.

@Safety Second- I am very familiar with their reserve program. Many years ago, it was huge and did a great job. But lately the “brass” and city hall side of things really hindered the program. You were hired depending on who you knew. It is a shame really.
