CalFIRE & ConFIRE are using all their resources to extinguish the now 150 acre blaze in between Kirker Pass Road and Bailey Road.

The following update is from ConFIRE:

The Kirker Incident is currently 150 acres in size and 60% contained with active fire in several drainages in the hills between Concord and Pittsburg. The fire should be able to be contained with the current assignment of resources from both Cal Fire and Con Fire – however there is no specific time for expected containment. Cal fire has 5 engines, 2 dozers, 2 hand crews, 3 air tankers, 2 helicopters, 1 Battalion Chief and 1 Fire Prevention Officer at the incident. Con Fire has 5 engines, 1 dozer, and 2 Battalion Chiefs at the scene. Federal Fire has 2 engines and 1 Battalion Chief at the scene.

CLAYCORD NOTE: Thanks to Will Clayviellie for the pictures of the CalFIRE helicopter taking water from the Oakhurst Golf Course Pond.

So that’s why I smell smoke!

I can see crews working up near the hill side above Alta Vista Circle in Pittsburg. Looks kind of like a battle field with all the helicopters flying around.

I can hear the helicopter from Oakhurst in Clayton.

Is it out yet

I love Claycord.com! The news is always out in up to the minute speed. Turned on the radio when we drove over Kirker and could get no info on the fire but could definitely see it. Seemed like a cavalry of dozers and fire trucks in the crook of the hill by the wood farm that is now defunct. Thanks Claycord.com.

I think they scooped up my Titleist Pro V1x . Now my pals insist I have to play it from wherever it wound up at CNWS. Will the MPs let me on base or what?

That middle photo is a great shot! You should send a copy to CALFIRE, Will.
