I was outside and heard the noise. three rapid bangs, then two then a single one. If it was a gun it was a pistol and not a magnum.

Probably just firecrackers (lady fingers).

I was out front when I heard the shots. At first I thought it was gun fire and then as I looked towards granada, where it sounded like it was coming from, I could the burst of fireworks in the air. Its always in the same place at least once every month to 2 months.

We heard them too and we’re closer to Concord High

I’m sure the sound could be heard for some distance considering it is very chilly out tonight and sound will travel much further and much faster..when I first heard them, I thought they were right next door.

@villiage resident,

Actually you’ve got it backwards. Cool air is more dense than warm air. Therefore, sound is met with more resistance when traveling through cool air vs warm air.

Speed of sound in air is calculated at
http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/sound/souspe.html

Basically at 68 degrees F the speed is 769 mph
at 45 degrees F the speed is 752 mph

I can understand the confusion because of the term: density. A vacuum which has a zero density in air does not have a speed of sound since there is nothing to propagate the sound.

I live on Granada and I heard them also but I couldn’t tell which direction they were coming from.

Is monte gardens considered north concord?

I didn’t think Monte Gardens area was North Concord… I always figured “Sunvalley Mall area” was north concord.

Also, I knew I heard something last night. Thank you for making me more paranoid now. Just kidding, but I imagine it could very easily be firecrackers too.

I was under the impression north concord was near the north concord bart station and port chicago area.

MG- is on the border of North Concord. North Concord is pretty big. Concord has such interesting people in it’s community, great families then some who have drugged themself and have horrible offspring. I bet you the parents were showing the kids how to use the gun, or the kids were playing with the parents guns. Next it will be a death, sadly. I just hope the kids don’t take the guns their schools.
