UPDATE: Robbery & Shooting at Sunvalley – Concord Police Identify Suspects

February 24, 2012 17:09 pm · 197 comments

Concord Police have released the names of the four women who were allegedly involved in the robbery & shooting at JC Penny inside the Sunvalley Mall on Thurday evening.

  • Suspect #1 (identified as alleged shooter): Zinquesha Green, 20-year-old female, on parole, Antioch
  • Suspect #2: Alicia Perry, Alicia, 21-year-old female, on parole, Antioch
  • Suspect #3: Kalia Albergottie, Kalia, 20-year-old female, BayPoint
  • Suspect #4: Joselyn Savage, 20-year-old female, Antioch

Concord Police also provided an update on the incident (below):

On Thursday at about 5:45pm, officers responded to the parking lot of JC Penny regarding the report of a robbery and a shooting. Officers learned that JC Penny Loss Prevention Agents had attempted to detain the four listed suspects for shoplifting and they physically resisted, assaulting two of the Loss Prevention Agents. One of the suspects brandished a firearm at the Loss Prevention Agents and fired one shot.

No one was struck by the gunfire. Two of the female suspects then fled the mall parking lot on foot, while the other two suspects fled in a vehicle.

An officer spotted the suspect vehicle on Hwy. 4. A high risk stop was done and two of the suspects were taken into custody. A loaded handgun was located inside, as well as other evidence of the case. The victims positively identified the suspects, one of whom was identified as the shooter.

Pleasant Hill PD stopped and detained the other two suspects who were also identified and arrested.

CSI located a shell casing and portions of the bullet at the scene. The suspect vehicle was transported to CPD for later processing.

All suspects were booked at CPD for various charges.

Zinquesha??? Tee hee hee!!!

2 WC resident February 24, 2012 at 5:18 PM

They were just about to turn their lives around!

3 Anon February 24, 2012 at 5:22 PM

Is it still a mandatory extra year for being involved in a crime with a loaded handgun? Not that it matters, they will probably just get house arrest.

4 the Shi ite February 24, 2012 at 5:25 PM

ZINQUESHA ???

WTF?!?!

5 WCmom February 24, 2012 at 5:29 PM

Love you Mayor, but it’s Jc Penney, two e’s.

6 Just a Concordian February 24, 2012 at 5:31 PM

@WC Resident. You watch… they’re coming on the other side of Treat Blvd next!

On a side note… WC= Water Closet=Toliet. Not to make a thing… just pointing out. Think of it as the equivalent of “you’ve got some lettuce stuck in your teeth”

Another reminder of why I avoid Sun Valley.

10 Women with guns, what is happening to our community?? February 24, 2012 at 5:33 PM

JC Penny? At least attempt to steal something of value, The Coach Store maybe? lol. Nice to know that it was more out of towers reeking havoc in our town. Good to know they have been apprehended… Bet they are sentenced to more time then Ms. Steen. What a messed up system we are dealing with.

11 K February 24, 2012 at 5:35 PM

Zinquesha? JFC that is funny all by itself.

12 wow February 24, 2012 at 5:36 PM

Wow, they are upstanding citizens. Antioch??? No way!!!! They were probably victims. Poor things.

13 Tony's Mom February 24, 2012 at 5:36 PM

Yikes. They got a long road ahead of them if they’re doing this stuff at their age. Hope they like bars…the vertical ones.

14 Annonnnnn February 24, 2012 at 5:37 PM

Wow – glad to hear that they were able to get out a little! Their parents (and their parole officer) must be so proud!

20 Jeremy February 24, 2012 at 5:43 PM

Ok, Im gonna say it… STAY ON YOUR SIDE OF THE HILL. Tear up your own city. I don’t know about you, but we don’t go to Pittsburg or Antioch for a reason.

23 Anon2 February 24, 2012 at 5:50 PM

I wonder if they already have a record. Most criminals don’t get caught the first time. They shoplift or commit burglary or robbery over and over again until the police finally catch them.

24 Say whaaaaaat? February 24, 2012 at 5:50 PM

Zinquisha… let me guess.. A redhead with freckles?

25 annon February 24, 2012 at 5:52 PM

28 Stupid little girls February 24, 2012 at 5:54 PM

Let me guess…. They had a troubled little life blah, blah, blah. My bet is if you look up there behavior at school it’s been going on their whole lives. Take ownership you little Generation ME brats. I hope you get spanked, and hard.

29 Chuckie's Wife February 24, 2012 at 5:55 PM

I wonder by how much these incidents will increase now that we have established that in CoCo County you get only 6 mos. home detention for murder…

30 Stood-up... February 24, 2012 at 5:57 PM

I knew there must have been a good reason why Zinquesha stood me up last night. She looks great in orange, by the way.

31 Unbelievable February 24, 2012 at 5:58 PM

Two of these young women were already on parole? Talk about the fast track to Loserville!

32 Why am I not surprised February 24, 2012 at 6:02 PM

These women are from Antioch and Bay point?

33 The Dude February 24, 2012 at 6:04 PM

50% of the suspects should have been in prison anyway- shocking. Think of how many of the violent crimes we’ve seen on Claycord the last couple years that wouldn’t have taken place if the suspect had been serving their sentence, as they should have. Fatal collisions, assaults, robberies, thefts- there’s been a ton on here that could have been prevented. Innocent people that would still be alive.

34 Bubbles February 24, 2012 at 6:05 PM

I can not believe they are from Antioch and BayPoint!! @ChampagneKitty I also had a laugh at Zinquesha sounds like a character from Saturday Night Live.

35 SixStringer February 24, 2012 at 6:08 PM

They need to hang them. Sorry…I’m just tired of this stuff.

36 Patrick February 24, 2012 at 6:09 PM

LMFAO!! Well then….there goes my theory about these being four white chicks from Danville. Wait…is it racist for me to assume Zinquesha isn’t white?

37 GoGo Gomez February 24, 2012 at 6:11 PM

Scum!

38 James February 24, 2012 at 6:13 PM

Mug shots of these upstanding young Ladies?

40 JLG February 24, 2012 at 6:15 PM

Well I for one an shocked from Bay Point and Antioch. Who would have thought?

41 haha February 24, 2012 at 6:18 PM

they will get less then 6 months they didnt even kill anyone

42 Ven Xeter February 24, 2012 at 6:18 PM

Don’t no one be talking’ no trash about Zinquesha. She has a big heart and is just trying to make her life better.

43 Sports February 24, 2012 at 6:23 PM

yea they will get a gun enhance Anon. Don’t think this will just be house arrest. With 2 on parole they will definately be violated and this has to be HAS TO BE Burglary aka a felony. Anything less and the DA should be fired. Plus since they were all at the presence and committing a crime during the felony all of them should get the gun enhancement and the use of a firearm. Add to it the robbery and these girls are going away for a while. Thank god for that two. Pieces of dirt in society.

44 Anon2 February 24, 2012 at 6:24 PM

Okay, so here is a post by Kalia Albergottie on myspace at:

http://www.myspace.com/search/people?q=Kalia%20Albergottie&ac=t

She posts (and I quote):

“Sexxy Chocolatee”
“Female, 20, Shitsburg, California.”

The Mayor can censor away…….

45 Good job claycord February 24, 2012 at 6:24 PM

Your realationship with CPD has paid off time and time again. You have all the NAMES of the suspects, KTVU does not.

46 Billa February 24, 2012 at 6:39 PM

This is just plain crap, it’s time to hand out a little rough justice, these low life’s are just creating havoc in what was normally a peaceful community.
Run their asses off to some place like Gitmo, and never let us hear from them again

47 Concordian88 February 24, 2012 at 6:47 PM

Aw poor Zinquesha, now her sister Watermelonisha will have to use her crack money to bail her sister out of jail or sell her baby…

48 Mimi (original) February 24, 2012 at 6:49 PM

I have several African-American friends who think the “alphabet soup” names are from the lowest versions of humanity. And really! have you seen some of the names from the last 20 years? Appalling! Why would you saddle a kid with; Holsheleen, Quinesha, or Female (pronounced Feh-Mahl-eh)? And now Neveah is becoming “common”. Really? Trash

49 Antioch February 24, 2012 at 6:50 PM

AS I PREDICTED YESTERDAY:
Antioch February 23, 2012 at 11:46 pm

Well, shoplifting. But you have to whip out your gun and crank off a shot..
that will REALLY up the charges (slap on the wrist vs. assault with a gun).

I BET anyone here that the scum were simply female versions of the “black male with a hoodie” description we see every day on the news (or here).

They were arrested at Port Chicago and headed back to their shit city: Antioch.”

They turned a petty theft into a robbery/assault/ADW/Conspiracy/…parole violation….

You can take them out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of them. Antioch is a ghetto.

Oh, and Karl…if you are reading this…..it’s just a fact of life!

50 Cheburger0cal February 24, 2012 at 6:57 PM

I bet you their favorite movie is “SET IT OFF”

51 Lari February 24, 2012 at 7:02 PM

Ditto Champagne Kitty’s post: Zinquesha?

52 Triple Canopy February 24, 2012 at 7:08 PM

Zinquesha? Lemme guess! Uhhhhh. Mixed race Chinese and Puerto Rican female?? NOT!!! Lemme guess again….. Black female? Ding – Ding – Ding – Ding – Ding!!!!!!

I dunno what it is with these names. Is it supposed to make the kid sound royal or dignified? I think it is a handicap and makes ‘em sound like social trash.

53 anonanonagain February 24, 2012 at 7:09 PM

Such charming and elegant ladies!!! Parole?? Is that French for, a fondness for prison food?
(Sarcasm)

54 Anon February 24, 2012 at 7:10 PM

To parents everywhere: Bill Cosby said it best-if you give your kid effed up names, you are guaranteeing they will have a significantly smaller chance at being a productive member of society. How many doctors, attorneys, college professors, pilots, CEOs, etc, are named any derivative of “iesha?”. There are none. Give your kid a chance to be something other than a parolee.

55 foonman February 24, 2012 at 7:12 PM

If we had, just as I suggested, farmed out our prison system to Mexico this may not have happened. Well, why not? It really makes good sense…..

56 bigtone February 24, 2012 at 7:28 PM

All suspects are inaccent untill proven guilty in a court of law…

except these 4 b!tchz lol

57 Concord Resident February 24, 2012 at 7:30 PM

Let me guess, black right? Big friggin’ surprise.

58 Sarah February 24, 2012 at 7:38 PM

So far the comments I see are all about this persons name and race issues. How about OMG they pulled a gun and fired a shot in the mall, the very same mall that I love taking my 5 year old, where family’s were shopping with there little ones, grown kids, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, mom, dad, must I go on. Really claycord is her name or race really the only thing you feel that needs to be addressed? ?? Give me a break……

59 Anon February 24, 2012 at 7:44 PM

Did I seriously just read that right? Someone is sticking up for some
crack monkey that pulls out and fires a gun where I take my 4 kids school clothes shopping?!?!? Where parents let their high school kids walk to after school, and where numerous families and other inoccent level minded people hang out..
WOW, just as the post said on the other thread, welcome to Compton, errr.. Concord…
Common sense and respect people!

60 Outstanding group of young women February 24, 2012 at 7:49 PM

I am sure they will do fine until the next time they get out on parole.

And I agree with others who post here. Mothers on queue, she’s not a bad girl, she was turning herself around, she was running with the wrong crowd, its not her fault, the system is broken, white people hate us, we need more jobs, we need more free stuff, and a bunch of other crap they spout on queue.

Did you ever notice that at the time of the crime the mothers all look rather, uh, earthy? But when they go to trial, they look like respectable women, until they open their mouths.

Its going to get worse before it gets better. Arm yourselves, the police can’t be everywhere.

61 Transpo February 24, 2012 at 7:50 PM

@sports, what happenes if the girls didn’t enter with the intent to steal (although we know they did)? Let’s assume they had cash on them, and claimed they decied to steal once in the store. However, I’m sure they aren’t smart enough.

62 Rooster head February 24, 2012 at 7:54 PM

Does not surprise me one bit that three out of the four fine ladies are from Any-Cock.

63 ChampagneKitty February 24, 2012 at 7:58 PM

69 SixStringer February 24, 2012 at 8:31 PM

@Antioch (33). You are so right. I grew up in Antioch and when I was a kid (back in the 60′s), Antioch was a great place to live… Now…the Yoch is pretty much Getto and worse. The Antioch I remember has been gone a long time now.

70 The Noodler February 24, 2012 at 8:31 PM

Zinquesha.

More thought went into naming that cow than raising her.

Too bad those loss prevention agents aren’t armed – a self defense shooting in the neck would have been nice to read about.

71 SixStringer February 24, 2012 at 8:33 PM

Maybe the Yoch is so over crowded by Getto that they are now branching out to new territory.

72 vs February 24, 2012 at 8:34 PM

Stay in antioch!

73 Clayho February 24, 2012 at 8:36 PM

I second that sarah #41. We need some gun control laws as well as a way to keep the Antioch and Bay Point derelict crowd coming over to our community. How about a metal detectors at the mall perhaps?

74 @Sarah February 24, 2012 at 8:39 PM

(((((((applause)))))))) While reading the story, I was shocked and very concerned about the gunshot more than anything else….(SMH)

75 @Sarah February 24, 2012 at 8:40 PM

WOW, I am appalled at these comments….

76 Erica February 24, 2012 at 8:47 PM

#10 misterWriter! Thanks for the LOL :D
Honestly not surprised about them trying hit the Concord mall I have never felt safe near JP..

77 Nick February 24, 2012 at 8:47 PM

@Sarah, the sad fact is, we’ve all become a bit desensitized. This type of post is almost expected on this site on a daily basis. All we have left is to laugh and/or shoot on site.

78 G February 24, 2012 at 8:47 PM

How does Contra Costa County and State decide which cities are privileged to have parolees? Happened to drive down Sycamore Drive in Antioch last week, which is “affordable housing”, six cop cars spaced down the street.

79 Joe February 24, 2012 at 8:49 PM

I agree Sarah, but you have to admit it is kinda funny and sadly most of the stereotypes are true

80 Ann February 24, 2012 at 8:54 PM

The reason everyone is talking about the race of these four is because it is an issue with people coming over the hill to cause trouble. I would rather someone call me a bigot because I walk the other way when I see people who look like trouble than get robbed or have my son hurt. I stereotype all the time and I don’t care if anyone has a problem with it.
That name is hilarious. I know someone who met a lady with a son named G’Money.

81 Grewah February 24, 2012 at 8:59 PM

@sarah 41 Two are on parole. I would love to know what they are on parole for. But no one here is surprised these women would pull a gun and fire in the mall. It is unfortunate that most of the people associated with actions like this are black. A sad commentary on our society isn’t it.

82 Jst Me February 24, 2012 at 9:02 PM

I am so sad that all this racism is going on. Yes, they all four need to go to jail. For a very long time. Straight to jail do not pass go…

But as #41 said we need to worry more about what they did and not where they came from. If a bullet had of hit someone and they died it wouldn’t matter the color of the skin of the person who fired it or where they came from.

Seems to me there is less crime on Pittsburg and Bay Point than Antioch and Concord. Is it everyone is just so jaded due to all the crime anymore? I hope they get a lot of jail time out of this. I am very happy that she didn’t kill someone in the mall.

I really hope people are just trolling and not that Claycord is full of such racist people.

83 Zeinisha's Momma February 24, 2012 at 9:04 PM

Zenish baby, don’t let the haters hate. yuh ainta done nutin wong.

84 Nick February 24, 2012 at 9:14 PM

No one is talking about race!!!! It’s a ridiculous name!!! I don’t care if she’s white, black, brown, yellow, crimson, purple, or green. Zinquesha is an absolutely absurd name. That is what many of us are laughing about. I’m terribly sorry to all the pseudo-sensitive folks that take issue with our giggles. After several weeks of daily armed robberies and shootings in our area, laughing is a good release.

85 Zinquesha February 24, 2012 at 9:19 PM

I’m Sory I shot at pepole the otter day, I am an ideot, I gess I will go bac to prizon now, it iz much better than Antiok o Piitbug.

86 Scoots February 24, 2012 at 9:22 PM

Knock it off you guys………… My mom’s name was Zinquesha!

87 Pyrrhus February 24, 2012 at 9:22 PM

Yes, the four women are idiots and are scum. However, are all the racial comments really necessary? Someone in the past thread mentioned that this was starting to look like the stormfront. Also, not everyone from Antioch and Baypoint are scum. I am a single middle class American that owns his own house and lives on the borderline of Antioch and Brentwood. I have never been in trouble with the law and have worked hard to have what I own. I’ve spent many dollars in Claycord and I for one don’t appreciate being lumped in with the bad apples.

I’ve worked for many years in Concord and I can say that the city has it’s own troubles. There is a reason why people avoid Detroit. Scumbags live in all cities and come in all colors. There is no need for all the hatred.

88 Diablo February 24, 2012 at 9:32 PM

All kidding aside about these upstanding Catholic girls from Danville this is another case of gun violence in our area.
Mr. Mayor, do we know if any of them were wearing a hoodie?

89 Lorelei February 24, 2012 at 9:34 PM

While we’re at it, Beyonce is not a real name either!

90 Concord74 February 24, 2012 at 9:34 PM

Ann at #63:
It isn’t just coming over the hill. Concord has it’s share of the same ghetto types living under the rocks around the city. You are not a bigot to react the way you stated – I believe that is called self-preservation. I have heard of an adge that states “People will perceive by what they see and judge by what they see until it is proven otherwise!”!

91 Quimesha February 24, 2012 at 9:37 PM

What so funny about her name? Me and my sisters Clamidaya and Vulvalonia don’t think it so funny.

92 Concord74 February 24, 2012 at 9:40 PM

“Zinquesha”??!! Isn’t that a sausage?? Or is it misspelled?

93 Chuckie February 24, 2012 at 9:49 PM

Unless we can call them all NoTheethA, I won’t be happy. If they don’t need a papper bag over their head after they get out of prison something is terribly wrong in our city. It’s obvious they don’t care what the legal system can do to them. They need door number two. Or, perhaps, dueling cellmates (video on demand).

94 Anon February 24, 2012 at 9:52 PM

And the total number of children these four have spawned?

95 F Sharp February 24, 2012 at 10:00 PM

Zinquesha. Nuff said.

96 @mommatotwo February 24, 2012 at 10:07 PM

I’m glad you do not go to Pittsburg. I sure wouldnt want you in my city. Your comments only show how concord residents truely are-condescending and rude. You must think that concord is a peaceful place to live. Open your eyes and look around you. The areas around Mt. Diablo high and Monument are all bad areas. They have similaries like Sycamore Ave in Antioch.

97 bay point resident February 24, 2012 at 10:10 PM

Thank you Pyrrhus for your comment. I live in the hills off of Evora just before Bay Point, have worked hard and have never been in trouble either. There are quite a few people that live there like myself too.

I’m really glad no one was shot or seriously injured. If these four don’t get a serious jail sentence, we DOOOOOO need a new D.A. I hope the one from Bay Point doesn’t live in my neighborhood.

98 oldy moldy February 24, 2012 at 10:11 PM

Awesome that they thought of hwy 4 at 5:45pm as a good get away route.

102 Don B. February 24, 2012 at 11:15 PM

I knew a woman who was a pediatric nurse, and her practice that had a female child named Zucchini…. yep you guess it right. The name came to the mother just after giving birth….. she thought it was romantic. I can tell you that she and her staff friends snickered for years with smiles when this story was mentioned.

Great comment that these pseudo names are an economic anchor. A ‘made-up’ name brands a kid to a caste system starting in grammar school.

Nope, this isn’t PC, but reality trumps X Correctness any day!

103 US_DOJ_Gov February 25, 2012 at 1:12 AM

Their parent’s must be so proud.

Type of parent’s who probably claim to be “Best Friends” with their children.

Makes sense…. they’re probably only a few years older (14yrs – 15yrs) than their children.

104 Mr. Bassman February 25, 2012 at 1:14 AM

I like my zinfandel more in the old world style, less spice, more dark fruit and cherry, and my quiche with extra cheese and bacon. I wonder how her parents liked theirs?

105 Lauren February 25, 2012 at 1:49 AM

So my friend was a first grade teacher at a school in Martinez and on the first day of school was calling attendance… This was going well until she came to the name Shithed. Assuming there had been some error she said, “I’m sorry, I’m not sure how to pronounce the next name and am not sure if its been spelled correctly” and went on to spell S*H*I*T*H*E*A*D to the class. A little girl then stood up and said her name was spelled correctly and its pronounced, “Sha-todd,” duh.

True story.

Why do people do this to their children? Not that this article has anything to do with their names; however, like in my example above, it just adds fuel to the fire!, and brings an unavoidable laugh.

106 Anon February 25, 2012 at 2:03 AM

108 bluebird February 25, 2012 at 6:57 AM

Gone are the days when we named our kids after relatives to show honor and love. Seems now the names are picked based on what the mama sees when she is in labor: Chanda-Leere was a god one.

109 Cruella February 25, 2012 at 7:04 AM

There are good and bad people of all races, ages, genders, sizes, from all locations.

If you live in a nice area, count your blessings. Chances are you (or your parents) have learned to do the right thing. A sincere thank you to all kind, upstanding, contributing, members of society..

This behavior is totally unacceptable. An increasing level of crime, perhaps due to the “entitlement” attitude and an awareness of the “slap on the wrist” penalties these days.

Is this instant gratification worth it? What kind of example are you setting for others? Did the two parolees tell the other two girls how easy and fun this would be? Shame on all of them.

Glad the loss prevention folks are okay.

110 WOW February 25, 2012 at 7:13 AM

Diablo @71, what took you so long? 71 posts were made before you start to bash Catholics. Why not atheists, muslims, methodists, greek orthodox, baptists, etc.?

I can think of no other group in American society that has been marginalized and basically shit on everywhere they turn as much as black women. And that’s weird cause I’ve worked with a lot of black women and I find them to be funny, bright, loyal friends, and very good natured. (unless provoked) I’m generalizing here of course.
I hope these sista’s find their way. Being black and female is a tough enough gig as it is.
But reckless gunfire cannot be excused of any group, under any circumstances, just so ya’ll don’t think I’ve gone all soft, burn ‘em.

I love Pleasant Hill and baecause I do I make sure whenever I see this kind of trash in my neighborhood I make them feel very uncomfortable! Whether its a simple dissaprooving look and shake of the head or a ” go back to your side of the hill, you don’t belong here!” I really think that if enough people took a stance, they would get the hint.

115 Ricardoh February 25, 2012 at 8:04 AM

Section eight housing at its best. Everything the government does has a bad reaction.

116 Jeff February 25, 2012 at 8:06 AM

I stay away from the race issues – BUT – the name is ridiculous. Trying to make your kid “stand out” because they have such a unique name certainly guarantees ridicule, but not necessarily success in life.

Gun laws, as someone pointed out earlier, are not the problem. You see, ONCE AGAIN, the criminals DO NOT CARE about the gun laws. The only ones restricted are those of us who abide by the laws.

Hey Brady Campaign….did the gun control laws stop these crooks? NO. Jerry, did disarming your citizens stop these crooks? NO.

One well placed shot by a law abiding citizen or guard would have stopped them “dead” in their tracks, however. Cost of a prison sentence (I’m guessing) is 50K a year? Well, the citizens can save you that expense. I won’t even charge you for the $1 round of ammunition. See, I’m already helping us with the budget.

CC sheriff, WAKE UP – it’s time to start issuing permits. It isn’t going to get any better. Every day, we wake up to news about a criminal using a gun to rob or shoot someone. It’s time we force CA to give out shall-issue concealed carry permits to residents, otherwise we are going to clog up your courts with self defense shootings that will cost you money to prosecute, but also in litigation for failing to recognize our Constitutional rights!

Take back the streets people. It’s no longer safe NOT to carry. In no way am I advocating violating the law, but I am a STAUNCH advocate in the right to defend oneself against people who give two sh*ts about my existence.

I would fully support armed citizen patrols in the streets to help clean this crap up. The entitled “me” generation needs a good ass whipping, as do this state’s USELESS politicians.

117 Meemo February 25, 2012 at 8:19 AM

This is just a beautiful comedy with a happy ending. Thank you mayor. And of course I love the names. Every day I want to buy a cheap house in Antioch, and every other day I see a story like this that reminds me why I don’t want to live there.

118 BetterLaws February 25, 2012 at 8:29 AM

We need stonger laws. We need to contact our DAs and local reps
To voice our frustration. You can google and find their contacts or call them.
This is attempted murder people. Serious stuff. If u are concerned contact your reps/DA/lawmakers. Our city is falling apart.

119 Douchey February 25, 2012 at 8:40 AM

I agree #101. Repealing prop 13 would be a good start. We could actually fund things like juvenile programs, more police, and crime prevention.

124 All Colors? February 25, 2012 at 9:54 AM

Pyrrhus February 24, 2012 at 9:22 pm

Yes, the four women are idiots and are scum. However, are all the racial comments really necessary? Someone in the past thread mentioned that this was starting to look like the stormfront
…there is a reason why people avoid Detroit. Scumbags live in all cities and come in all colors..

Speaking of Detroit, yes. And Henry Ford said it quite well..”You can have any color you want, as long as it’s black”.

That applies to the scum committing all the violent crime around here lately.

125 Nellz February 25, 2012 at 10:00 AM

When I moved to Concord back in ’93 it was known for being a racist town and I guess that hasn’t changed much. Just because these four women did a crime does NOT make it okay to make fun of a whole ethnic group. Seriously, who ever is monitoring these comments must be on vacation…

And to the person who said Beyonce is not a real name, you’re right, it’s not a typical first name. It is actually her mother’s maiden name. And let me just point out, who is to say what a real name is and isn’t? I’m sure all names were made up at some point and time, some are still used, some aren’t.

I don’t bother you, you don’t bother me, don’t put yourself in harms way, take a self defense class. People who carry guns are the same kind that self medicate………

130 polarbear February 25, 2012 at 11:54 AM

What a shame, Antioch isn’t the same community that I grew up in. In the eighties. Yeah it was a blue collar town with a couple of rough areas but at least people were decent and hard working and cared about their town. But within the last fifteen years Antioch has disentigrated in a shithole due to lack of control and regulating section 8 housing. With that said some people took advantage of section 8 housing and brought along criminal elements to this town; gangs, riff raff, graffiti, etc. It s too bad that this town that I was raised in is nothing but a rotting corspe besieged by cockroaches that have no respect for human life.

131 Who would have guessed February 25, 2012 at 11:57 AM

True

132 Who would have guessed February 25, 2012 at 11:59 AM

I hate that Antioch gets the bad rap for these low lives .
It is the City Council and Mayor that should be attacked
For allowing the City to be taken over by section 8 and Dollar
Stores . I think they should have a few more , we don’t have
One on EVERY Corner yet!
Antioch used to be a nice place to live ,but when you get people
In charge that THINK they know what they are doing this is the results.

Change the people in charge and just maybe we could have a nice city
Once again.

133 Doesn't Antioch have a JCPennys? February 25, 2012 at 12:01 PM

Go shoot that one up you hoodrats, we wouldn’t care and stay out of Claycord!

134 Mr B February 25, 2012 at 12:56 PM

Lived in Concord 52 years. We have a definite pattern to the recent violent crimes and I think it’s just smart and not racist to be aware. Never owned a gun in my life however that’s going to change.

145 anonanonagain February 25, 2012 at 3:41 PM

This is a sad state of affairs. 1, that these women thought that this idea was a good one in the first place, 2, that they made a conscious choice to ruin their lives even further and 3, that this behavior is no longer in SOME people’s eyes, no that much of a big deal.
I can’t wait for the pendulum to swing again, pride and morality to come back into full swing (not extremist, religious Republican conservatism) but tried and true integrity.

146 Dennis February 25, 2012 at 4:50 PM

chucko the clown said “You don’t carry a gun unless you plan to use it someday.”

I bet you don’t believe in health or car insurance, either. Or a military.

Better to have that insurance and never have to use it, than not have it if you need it.

147 Dennis February 25, 2012 at 5:01 PM

maybe its time to replace politicians who depend on these dregs of society as their core voter group.

Find politicians that will change the law to “no parole”.

Find politicians who will build enough prisons to keep the scum off the streets.

Find politicians who eliminate welfare and food stamps and section 8 housing for felons and their families, and spend it to keep the scum locked up instead.

—————

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Kevin Holder’s rap sheet is 43 pages long, dating back to 1980, and he just got another entry: his 226th arrest. Police say they caught him Sunday morning after a brief chase and found burglar tools in his possession.

“He’s very well-known to Lincoln police officers,” Police Chief Tom Casady said.

Holder’s convictions include criminal mischief, marijuana possession,
violation of protection order, assault, resisting arrest, assault on an officer, possession of cocaine. Many were misdemeanors, but he also has been sentenced to at least three prison terms for felonies, including a four-year stretch starting in 1996.

Holder’s list of arrests doesn’t come close to setting a record for Lincoln-Lancaster County. He’s No. 40, police spokeswoman Katherine Finnell said Tuesday.

A number of people have more than 500 arrests in the city of 226,000 people.

The record was held by Edward Rooks, who died in 2004, with 652 arrests.

My elderly mother had her purse snatched outside JCP by another upstanding young citizen 20 years ago,and when she called out for help, people surprisingly came to her aid and chased him on foot and by car and caught him and recovered her purse intact. Nice. Today, she’d probably get shot during the robbery. Luckily, back then she was uninjured. She stopped going there alone after that much to my relief.

149 Nick February 25, 2012 at 5:31 PM

Dennis, what’s your point with the Nebraska news clip?

150 vs February 25, 2012 at 5:59 PM

I cant imagine being arrested once…. 500 times???

151 The problem is... February 25, 2012 at 6:20 PM

Here is the problem: our imperial DA Mark Peterson will allow a huge plea bargain. An indication of his leadership is that every county employee save one took a pay cut. Wanna guess who? This is a guy that’s in it strictly for himself.

152 B.O.B February 25, 2012 at 6:30 PM

Yes get rid of Peterson

153 Anonymous February 25, 2012 at 7:41 PM

Lay off Peterson just because the Board of Supervisors gave everyone, including themselves a pay cut doesn’t mean that our DA Mark Peterson should take one. No one can make him do it and even though all his deputies took one he didn’t and why should he?No one can make him because he is elected.

154 Always Right February 25, 2012 at 9:30 PM

@Nick- Dennis is using some fun facts from Nebraska to illustrate how easy the criminal justice system is on most criminals.

Obviously something is seriously wrong if anyone can get arrested 50 times in their lifetime – but 500? Think of all the victims !

We need a progressive criminal justice system. That is, the more crime you commit, the longer your sentences become. This is the beauty of the 3 strikes and you’re out law, and why it has been so successful in reducing crime (and increasing the prison population) over the last 20 years.

What we need now is 2 (felony) strikes and you are in jail for 20 years minimum, and 5(misdeameanor) strikes and you are in jail for 10 years.

155 Nick February 25, 2012 at 10:33 PM

@always right and Dennis,

While I see your point, it seems to me that it would have been simple enough to find a clip from California law to point out the same trend. I guess it was just the out of state aspect that lost me since we have so many issues to gripe about right here.

156 Dennis February 25, 2012 at 10:49 PM

@Nick true true.

Problem is that crime here … and the catch-and-release attitude of the justice system – rarely makes the news locally.

Hard to grab fun clips that aren’t even reported.

You’d think (from media accounts) that there is no crime here, and all the baddies (mostly parole violators) are all locked up.

The truth is more like the stats I posted from Nebraska.

I know LE that compare their jobs to garbage collectors: pick up garbage on Tuesday, it’s back on the street waiting to be picked up again the next Tuesday.

157 Mall employee February 25, 2012 at 10:55 PM

Can’t say I saw it with my own eyes but the general story among mall employees is that the two LP agents that were assaulted got seriously injured. The saddest thing is that all this violence occured over what? AN ON SALE $30 PAIR OF JEANS THEY WERE SEEN STEALING. yup. these lowlifes went to these measures because they got caught stealing a single pair of jeans. WOW. Thank god no innocent bystander was injured

158 Nick February 25, 2012 at 11:08 PM

@dennis, no argument here.

159 Antler February 25, 2012 at 11:40 PM

So if we build a J.C. Penney’s store in Pittsburg, will they go THERE instead?

160 The more eyes watching the less that goes unseen. February 25, 2012 at 11:44 PM

Sadly every community fluctuates up and down throughout the years pertaining to crime (obviously certain towns have a lot more crime then others for obvious reasons)… My grandmother refused to go to the Sun Valley Mall during a certain period in the 90′s when it was a local hangout for different gangs resulting in violence. I haven’t researched the past articles and dont personallly remember as I was fairly young at the time but do believe there was a shooting or stabbing or both during this time. The mall did crack down on loitering and allowing large groups to cruise the mall together resulting in a decrease of gang riff raff and the return of a fairly safe shopping center.

As we begin to see an increase once again in theft, robbery, and violence, not just at the mall but the surrounding areas it is time again to identify the issues and crack down on specific groups that seem to be loitering, cruising the area, etc and let it be known that “we” in most causes “we” should be the police but citizens as well (maybe those that have admitted to be carrying may be a tad more comfortable voicing this then per se my grandma) are watching you and if “we” see lets say three hoodied covered gentlemen walking down our streets without an apparnet purpose “we” should ask them what they are doing. Coming from a cop this may make them realize they are on their radar and that they should take their purposeless (prowling for their next hit) loitering elsewhere. Why should we feel bad making them uncomfortable when they have no problem making us feel uncomfortable daily?

**I think it is time to turn the tables and start making those thugs that make us feel uncomfortable in our town feel uncomfortable in our town as well. Watch them, let them know we aren’t blind to their presence. Start reporting unusual loitering to the police so that they have to follow-up on the lead and I guarantee they will start to realize we are watching and will quickly get the picture if they see the police following them, questioning them, and making them answer as to the purpose of their presence, especially if they arent from around here. Most those wanting to rob our homes and our stores are lazy and would most likey find it easier to relocate to a town that doesn’t hassle them then continue to be watched, reported, and questioned by our community. This would take effort from our fellow citizens and am not sure how drastic of an impact it would make but I know for a fact it would bring me some satisfaction by trying!

Plus, the more eyes watching the less that goes unseen.

161 Mr. Bassman February 26, 2012 at 1:02 AM

@ 118;
I’m just making a wild guess here, but it seems like there are already laws against shoplifting, unlicensed concealed carry of a firearm, discharging a firearm within city limits, reckless endangerment, assault, assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, carrying a firearm while on parol, and some parolees aren’t even allowed to associate with other parolees.
None of these laws, which are all good and just, will stop a criminal from breaking them. It seems to me the laws are there so attorneys have something to prosecute the criminals with, “or not.” We do NOT need more laws, we need prosecutors and judges who will deal the harshest penalties possibal to this kind of trash. That, and parents who raise their kids not to be scum, public schools that teach kids REAL subject matter not the garbage that is preached under the progressive liberal unions’ mandates, and polititions who do not support and encourage generations of people relying on government handouts and entitlements.
The creation of more laws over what are already on the books to help prevent this kind of crime does nothing to prevent crime, but instead erodes away the freedom and personal liberty of the rest of us law obiding citizens.

Laws do not prevent crime, or there would be no criminals. People who are taught and learn common sense and decency do not break laws such as these in the first place.

168 More to think about than Zinquesha February 26, 2012 at 12:25 PM

I’ve read most of these racist post, and finally was relieved to read some that had substance and concern. I am a single, black female who has raised two black sons with some assistance from their father. I was married then divorced. I have been employed with the city of sf for over 30 years, most of it in law enforcement, I’ve also served in the military for over 20 years. I’m lucky that I have raised my children to be respectable and assets to their communities, my oldest is in law enforcement and also in the military and my youngest just out of school attending college.
I’m not making any excuses for the offenders, I see enough of those types daily at my work and there isn’t any excuse for them, but I do want to add this information for those of you speculators and critical of parents in general. There are a lot of reasons why we are seeing this behavior and will continue to see this behavior. It now is against the law for parents to discipline their children in any manner other than verbally or giving time outs. I have had to book parents for disciplining their children (spanking) for absolutely good reason, reasons that I would most definitely discipline my child for. Some children do not respond to just verbal discipline or being given a time out. Depending upon the incident, the number of occurrences and the attitude of the child, spanking may be more in order than just a verbal warning or a time out.
The prisons are over crowded and the citizens vote against building more. Then again we do have a brand new prison in the desert that no one wants to work in so it remains closed and unused. The criminals know exactly how much time they will get when caught. They also know which cities and counties they will get the less punishment. They glorify this lifestyle in song and in movies, so they think this is great going to jail while they are young and living this fast life. Most don’t decide they want to change until they are in their 40′s or 50′s. In my profession, I’ve never seen so many young women in jail for murder as now. And I do mean YOUNG women, and no they are not all black. All races, black, white, latin even asian.
Things will only get worse if we don’t take the time to let our government know what we demand, and then follow through with voting for it. There are already enough laws on the books, it is time to enforce them!!! Teachers are afraid to teach these young hoodlums. (I also worked part time at the Board of Education). Just recently one of our psychiatric staff was found murdered with his wife and they were killed by their 15 year old son.
The people voted Kamala Harris the states Attorney General and she was very lenient as the SF DA. One case, she refused to seek the death penalty for a convicted cop killer, the man wrote a rap song about his cold-blooded killing of this very nice, professional and young father of an infant daughter. Yet, she was voted in as Attorney General…. how can any of our violent problems become any better with such leadership as that? The wrist slapping also goes on behind the prison and jail doors as well. In an institution where you think there should be no recourse but to follow the rules, we have been curtailed to only taking away prisoners commissary, phone time and visits. So for those inmates who don’t receive any of the fore-mentioned, nothing bothers them and they continue their nasty behavior,
Just food for thought. Just a little more to worry about than race… ghetto has encompassed all nationalities. Ghetto is in, civilized manners are out

169 ChampagneKitty February 26, 2012 at 3:16 PM

While I agree that racism is a problem on Claycord.com, on this particular thread, a lot of the comments are because of the name “Zinquesha” which is an absolutely ridiculous name. You know, if you read the story, no where does it mention these women’s race. We all just think that “Zinquesha” is a really stupid name. Scoffing at that name does make a person racist.

170 ChampagneKitty February 26, 2012 at 3:29 PM

I meant that scoffing at that name does NOT make a person racist!

171 Anon February 26, 2012 at 4:25 PM

Pattern recognition is what the human brain excels at. It’s rational for someone to perceive a group as a whole differently as the results of a subset of that group. That is human nature.

172 jw February 26, 2012 at 4:38 PM

@ polarbear #130,

I, too, grew up in Antioch, from late-60s to late-80s. Up until the mid-80s, Antioch was a great place to live. Like you say, a couple rough areas, but nothing real terrible.

But then in 84-85 is when two things happened: An influx of Section 8 housing in the Sycamore area and the beginning of unchecked growth south of Hwy 4. Remember when Sycamore Dr. was actually nice, when it was a bunch of retirees and young families living in those duplexes?

But then Section 8 brought “residents” from Pittsburg, Richmond, Oakland, Vallejo..in less than 10 years that area was a drug-dealing, gang-infested crap hole, so bad that Sycamore residents east of L Street couldn’t get pizza delivered and had other problems from the stigma attached to living on Sycamore, so they actually changed their street name to Willam Reed Drive. Hmmm, gee, what (or who) changed in that area? You do the math.

“Old Antioch” is long gone and aint comin’ back, which kills me because I loved Antioch and at one time thought I’d never leave. But it’s nothing but a sick ghetto town, and for those of you Concord-ites who look down their nose at Antioch, Concord is on the fast-track to catch up.

173 Brad February 26, 2012 at 4:50 PM

174 Richard Head February 26, 2012 at 6:21 PM

So to stop you all from making fun of me I’ll just call you racist.

175 Dennis February 26, 2012 at 6:33 PM

@ #168 well said. We need more persons like you and fewer like Kamala Harris. When killing a police officer is Special Circumstances, ie. a Capital Crime, how could Harris claim her “personal objection” to Capital Punishment justified her not seeking the death penalty?

Oh wait. There’s tht word “elected” in there. When there are so many thugs and ex-felons voting, it is natural for politicians to sell their souls (and sense of puboic responsibility) to get those votes, and get re-elected.

CA finally passed a law (2004 or 2008) requiring paroled sexual predators wearing a locator cuff, but implementing it has failed. Martha Stwewart was such a threat to our children she had to wear one, but making convicted sex predators do so is infringing on their rights? Ditto for making them avoid schools and playgrounds: the courts felt making them move was an unconstitutional addition to their parole terms.

Also by Initiative, having been killed in committee 5 times, in 2004(?)it was finally illegal for morticians to have sex with the corpses. Why did that take so long, and why did the politicians oppose it?

And why are Californians continuing to re-elect those politicians?

176 Robbie Douglas February 26, 2012 at 6:40 PM

ZInquesha is my dogs name

177 Dennis February 26, 2012 at 6:45 PM

@171 the word is Pareidolia

“The term pareidolia referenced in 1994 by Steven Goldstein, describes a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Common examples include images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon, and hidden messages on records played in reverse. The word comes from the Greek para- — beside, with or alongside — and eidolon — image (the diminutive of eidos — image, form, shape).

Pareidolia is a type of apophenia.

The Rorschach inkblot test uses pareidolia to attempt to gain insight into a person’s mental state.

Carl Sagan hypothesized that as a survival technique, human beings are “hard-wired” from birth to identify the human face. This allows people to use only minimal details to recognize faces from a distance and in poor visibility, but can also lead them to interpret random images or patterns of light and shade as being faces.”
——————–

It also allows the hunter-gatherers in the field the ability to recogniise a potential predator lurking in the treeline :)

One of the earliest cultural talents passed to the young is “you are what you wear”. It’s why police and firefighters and EMTsand military are required to wear instantly recognizable uniforms.

And it is why youths, striving to distance themseves from conformity, dress like a clone of others who feel similarly. We get it. You’re a Goth, A gangbanger, a skateboarder, a Surfer, or Crips, Bloods, or MS-13.

Why then, do we hear them complaining that strangers “condemn them for their appearance, rather than getting to know the REAL person inside them”? Hello? Isn’t that the very reason they are wear those “uniforms” in the first place?

PS Pareidolia isn’t perfect; it has lots of false positives. Better to falsely identify branches and bushes as a camoflaged predator, rather than walking into an ambush.

It is also the reason that human predators complain about “profiling”, since it negates their attempts at camoflage: just because a person starts screaming religious epithets, and tries to light his shoelaces with a match on your flight, it is wrong for society to (perhaps falsely) treat him as a terrorist attempting to blow up the plane!

After all, predators have a right to prey on us, and avoid detection, right?

Brad, by “natural blonde” do you somehow mean that her comments make so much sense that you can’t understand them for the life of you?

180 Nick February 26, 2012 at 7:06 PM

Antler, as to your iPad keyboard issue, the best resolution is to ditch the iPad and get an Android tablet. More specifically one of the transformer family from ASUS. You can get a keyboard dock that basically makes your tablet a laptop. Combine that with the SwiftKey app for your keyboard/Autocorrect app and you’re golden. Just my opinion.

181 ChampagneKitty February 26, 2012 at 7:45 PM

Thank you, Nick!

182 Antler February 26, 2012 at 8:24 PM

Thanks, Nick, but my iPad2 was over $1,000 of Christmas gift…..can’t just ditch it. Bluetooth keyboards combined in a cover are available, and there are several other types of keyboards, too.

183 Nick February 26, 2012 at 8:54 PM

Fair enough, Antler. I couldn’t tell you what it was but something in your comment made me think you have had the iPad for quite a while. I was thinking first generation iPad that’s due for an upgrade. I’m not sure how I missed the fact that you said “iPad2. I certainly wouldn’t replace a brand new tablet either, even being the tech geek that I am.

“We need stonger laws.”
AB 327, Tom Amminao’s Three-Strikes reform bill. Might want to research this little jewel. Ah yesss, and we have the cream of the crop when it comes to passing laws. California has managed to spawn some of the most gifted knee jerk shallow thinkers on the planet.
Assault weapons ban, … gun manufactures had design work arounds before the bill even passed. Sold mine for three times what I paid for it just before the law passed. We have so many laws county jails are over full as is state prison system. Or is it our that our entitlement nanny state just attracts the unskilled criminal types?

@jw #172 Completely agree, past an current antioch city councils and city staff are totally at fault for the condition of the city. Went by the almost abandon shopping center Delta Fair and Buchanan drunks passed out, drinking in public and people shooting up.

I love this site
You laugh like hell and learn stuff too
@168 well put, you should be proud
@175 good info, thanks

186 Cruella February 27, 2012 at 7:19 AM

@ 168. Thank you for your post. I agree.

187 Patrick February 27, 2012 at 7:33 AM

@Nick…I don’t think Brad was referring to ChampagneKitty’s postings. I believe it was more of a “does the carpet match the drapes” comment. Champagne=blonde, Kitty=well…you know.

I could be wrong though.

Antioch is such a magnificent place to live. The people are friendly, the section 8 housing is a real hoot at night, and I enjoy going to the Sears in Antioch. I guess you could say I’m a low life who is afraid to invest sufficient money on home appliances. So be it. Nonetheless, Antioch gets a bad wrap for it’s high meth usage. Best damn crystal in the east bay, what’r y’all going to do about it?

189 Nick February 27, 2012 at 8:38 AM

@Patrick, that sounds plausible I suppose.

190 Antler February 27, 2012 at 8:57 AM

Nick ~ ~ ~ Thanks anyway, though. I appreciate your taking time to answer.

191 CJ February 27, 2012 at 9:10 AM

Boy am I glad we have all these smart people here that can explain other people’s posts. Otherwise I’d be confused.

192 Ick February 27, 2012 at 9:51 AM

I hope they keep these terrorists behind bars for quite a while and put them through somekind of rehab so they can become good contributing members of society. Pretty disgusting when young people are so lost and don’t seem to care about anyone but their disgusting selves.

193 shortydoowap February 27, 2012 at 11:54 AM

The posts on this thread are unbelievable. Yep these young women are who they are. But the comments I have just read are those of some ignorant, red-neck, close-minded, un-educated people. Great, you don’t steal, lie and cheat, but you probably are clueless to whats happening in our government, much less world. I understand not everybody has the same oppurtunities in life, but people are people EVERYWHERE. If we all could travel the world and experience the lives of others, now that would be an education. Good idea to think before your so quick to react. I have met some young women like this before who are definetly bad news and TOUGH. They straight up don’t give a f%$#@ about doing the right thing and will steal your phone, money i-pod, whatever the minute you look the other way without a single thought of remorse. But quit making yourselves look like a bunch of stupid back wood idiots.

194 Brad February 27, 2012 at 12:29 PM

Patrick…you are correct. My failed attempt at a little crass humor :-)

195 Disgusted February 28, 2012 at 12:06 PM

Mayor– Why do you allow all of this hatred and racism on your site? Its like a playground for ignorance! Makes me want to stop looking at your site.

@shortydoowoop–Thank you, finally someone who is real on claycord.

All of you racists people on claycord—- Crime does not have a city of origin or belong to any race… Its everywhere and every race is responsible. Instead of race bashing, why are you not trying to fix the problem and give others opportunities so they can make better lives for themselves?

Time to offer a solution, not degrade human beings!

Finally… Why is the walnut creek article not on claycord about the cocaine found at the club??? Hmmm makes me wonder! Because its in your backyard too!

196 FreeSpeech February 28, 2012 at 12:52 PM

Although many of the comments here are pretty nasty, racist and somewhat offensive, who cares. It’s good to have a forum that permits free speech whatever that speech may be. If I don’t like a comment, I just skip over it. I don’t make a judgement about the ‘poster’, that’s their opinion and that’s them. If we just stick to the story and not to the posts, it’s pretty sad that young women are “lost”. Hopefully, incarceration has programs that will help them out of this hole they are digging for themselves.

197 Sheree February 28, 2012 at 2:02 PM

shortydoowap–isn’t saying red-neck and back-woods idiots something that you are actually complaining about on here? Aren’t you saying that the comments that have been made are wrong? Why would you make your own sterotypical comments then? As a black person, I definitely feel like saying those things is just as racist and opinionated as a white person saying the n word, ghetto, or similar.
