A Doritos truck crushed a car in Martinez this afternoon.
The crash happened on Arnold & Morello, near Subway.
If you look at the photos, the truck driver wasn’t even in the driveway. The driver went over the curb & through the bushes before finally slamming into the car.
Thanks to “Richie Rich” for the photos!

Fail!
I don’t know how the truck was able to even get that far before hitting the brakes – unless speed was the issue.
Best Super Bowl Ads of the year!
Worst driving of the year?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That is hilarious! Hey, that means a job is opening up… Woo Hoo!
Holy…friggin…crap.
Good job chip boy.
What the hell… LOL.
mmmmm doritos
That drive way is very narrow…was he actually trying to park his truck to do his delivery? What a dork. There’s plenty of parking by the old Blockbuster.
I used to drive a bobtail that size in San Francisco without any issues.
I wonder if they need to fill that position now? LOL
@the Shi ite, the only problem with the speed theory is that these trucks don’t carry much speed in reverse. He had to be on the gas all the way through the bushes. Maybe the throttle hung?
He “chip” the paint ??
No burying the cat on that one…
I drove past after the fact. The truck driver was standing on the side of the road. I do not see how this was at all possible.
Was he backing into the parking lot or trying to leave. The picture doesn’t make sense.
Now that’s what ya call, driving by braille.
It appears from the position of the truck he may have lost control of the truck trying to enter the inclined driveway of the Lucky shopping center across the street and reversed back through the street ending up backed up over the curb, the bush and the front end of the car in the parking lot behind him.
…also glad they didn’t turn into Flaming Dorito’s.
i guess if this was on the Brady Bunch, he would have lost the better driving bet. Remember when Greg knocked the egg off the cone when he was trying to get the car as close to the cone as possible without knocking it off? Marcia got close and won. OH them were the good ol days!
@Did – yes, im betting the cars paint might have got chipped. nothing a little elbow grease cant cure!
I smell a lawsuit
The owner of the car should get a lifetime supply of Chips. This is a good way for the economy to create jobs. By natural firing of yourself.
It is the car’s fault… Just like in the commercial, the car was desperate for a Dorito and was sucking on the trucks bumper!
Ay, Ceeeesco!
That’ll buff right out.. Now kids, this is why you dont snack behind the wheel.. I dont care how much you love your flaming hot cheetos..
BFF out!
“Holy Parking Brake, Bat-chip-man!”
Crunch all you want….
see mom was right… junk food kills!
Wow. Ultra-fail. Just wow!
“Doritos…Cars that go CRUNCH!”
Bad Doritos truck! No salsa for you!
At least the Driver had the phone number of a tow company handy since he/she was right behind the B & D Towing sign.
Jay Leno was allegedly the Doritos driver in question.
Your all wrong, the driver was inside the lucky store stocking product and the truck was in the lucky parking lot when it rolled backwards on it’s own missing traffic on the street and ending up on the embankment on top of the car.
D’oh-ritos!!!
He said the truck malfunctioned it was parked at luckys across the street. It rolled backwards down the hill across the street into those bushes and the car.
Interesting headline… I don’t quite see a “flattened” car……
Thats classic!
Did someone call the CHiPs?
If anyone is looking for a job I think there might be a position open at Frito Lay
Ah, feel the love. Where’s the dip? Oh, that’s right, he was driving.
“YAY DORITOS FOR LIFE!!!”
I love doritos!
No excuse for that someone is loosing a job. How many times has that same driver been in and out of that same parking lot and never hit a car.
Welcome and thanks for posting the pictures. Everyone at work was having a blast with them. Of course glad no one got hurt, as we chip chip away.
you all assume he was sober.
did someone mention there’s a job opening for a truck driver?
That’s the way the clips fall.
Time to pee in a cup…dee da dee!
Sucks for the vehicle owner.
Someone is getting a new car.
Someone may lose their job.
Someone didn’t get their Doritos on time.
What a day!
You can hear it crunch.
Where did my truck go ?
If this truck rolled across from being parked at lucky’s it’s one hell of a truck. Their receiving is on the opposite side of the building. so the truck on it’s own drove in reverse all the way around the building down a narrow aisle across the street and ended up on on top of another car.
Doubting Thomas??
Thomas, this particular vendor rotates their stock rather than have the store do it. Therefore, the driver parks as near as possible to the front of the store in order to facilitate that. The location of the loading dock is irrelevant here.
How many of you lame asses are going to keep thinking you’re funny as you repeat the same, tired, themes of “jokes”?
Do you need someone to explain the jokes to you?
Ok everyone, try to keep the noise level down, ‘snore’ is trying to work (or sleep).
The truck rolled back on its own volition? Isn’t that what the parking brake is for??
Don’t worry Mr. Truck Driver, it’s nacho fault.
I did something similar to this where I parked but forgot to set the parking brake or maybe did not pull it up enough. It was a stick shift left in neutral. I must have been around 17 or 18 at the time. The car rolled backwards down the street, across the street, and then down a steep bank into someone’s front yard. Fortunately, no real damage done despite the fact that we lived on a fairly steep hill and it went over a retaining wall from the bank onto the yard. AAA pulled the car out and since then I’ve been much better at setting the wheels and breaks.
The draw of the salsa car was more than the chip truck could take.
This (http://g.co/maps/b858j) seems to be the exact viewpoint in the street photo, and the how/why of it is definitely baffling.
@Random Questioner:
Excellent map of the intersection……. Right to the point !!
