Just have to say — this is one part of Claycord.com that I think is great. It’s otherwise impossible to get a PSA regarding a lost pet. I’m not near Myrtle Dr — but I’ll watch for Bella anyway.

I live parallel to Myrtle and will keep my eyes open.

Seriously….WTF is up with all these lost dogs???

People, you wouldn’t let your kid just wander off, would you? So how hard is it to keep control of your slobbery mutt? Fenced yards, dog runs, and most of all LEASH LAWS. It’s a freakin no-brainer. If you can’t handle it responsibly, then maybe your dog should be picked up as a stray and adopted by someone who pays attention.

I live up the street as well, my Brother has the same dog, same age and same name over on Wilson. I know he would be heart broken if she went missing, even if she always seems to have bad gas.

Actually I don’t think it has ever been that unusual. Granted, it’s not as common as it was before leash laws. But there are many reasons why animals “take off.”

Here the owner simply has the advantage of putting a notice through to the site. When I worked for CCT, they had to pay for ad space — and hope that people read it. It would take two days before print.

Of course, I hope the owners still tack up info re lost animals on poles, contact animal services, etc.

But this is a great way to kind of IMMEDIATELY alert people that there is a concerned owner of a dog they see running loose.

That’s a little pup in a big world.

@Barbara…my comment wasn’t concerning the various outlets for notification. My comment was basicaly how do people let this happen? If your dog is IN your house, IN a fenced yard, IN a dog run, or ON a leash (the law!), then how the **** does your dog just “wander off”??

Irresponsible, uncaring, or just plain oblivious. And the owner’s admission that they “Didn’t notice her missing for about 20 minutes” simply reinforces my assertion.

Not a Bostie! Hopefully that pup knows to stay on the side of the road and be friendly so it can get picked up.. Lost wandering Bostons are pretty rare out in these parts. Wishing the best!

A fenced yard will not contain a dog that has decided to go exploring. I don’t know of too many back yards in the area with fences that extend several feet into the ground to prevent a dog from digging and slipping under. These things happen sometimes and it sucks for the owner until they find their pet. It isn’t necessarily due to negligence. We’re talking about a lost dog. Not the woman that left her baby in the car for 20 minutes at CVS.

Godspeed, little Bella … May you and your family be reunited soon. It breaks my heart to read of pets being lost. It’s too bad there are people like Patrick, who are so angry they seem to have lost their compassion and kindness. There may be some sensible points in his rant … but they are lost in the crudeness and the venom.

Patrick@7,
Your 20 minute assertion simply reinforces the idea that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Patrick you must not be a pet owner. You suck
And I hear Bella was found! yay

Not too long ago someone was looking for a new dog they adopted that slipped out of its collar as the owner was walking it. Another dog took off from a vet as the employee took it out to potty … Both incidents were reported on this site. I recall one of them being found.

Stuff happens. It just doesn’t mean irresponsibility in EVERY instance.

What’s more important to you? Your “assertion” (based on assumption) or that the dog is found?

14 Chris D January 27, 2012 at 2:32 PM

Was Bella found or not? Hopefully so!

15 Patrick January 27, 2012 at 2:48 PM

Mehh….dog folk. Nothing’s ever their fault, and THEIR dogs are never the ones who bite/bark incessantly/destroy property. Keep your slobbery mutts under control. If you have to build a better fence, or a dog run, then do it. I hear dog folk constantly refer to their mutts as their “children”. I’m wondering, if my 6 y/o daughter wandered off and I didn’t notice for 20 minutes, then posted on Claycord asking for help…would you all be so supportive? Or would I be chastised for being a dips**t parent who should be locked up for negligence?

And before all the crazies chime in…YES…I know dogs and children are WAY different. I recognize the difference in value of life. Some of you obsessive dog folk, however, don’t.

@Patrick,
Sounds like you’ve never had the love and devotion of a dog….Mark Twain said “Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in.”

So true….

17 Nick January 27, 2012 at 3:44 PM

@Patrick

Who pissed in your corn flakes this morning?

18 Bob January 27, 2012 at 4:09 PM

@Patrick- you are one” sick puppy”.

19 T-dawg January 27, 2012 at 7:49 PM

Patrick – you’re an ass. BTW, I assume your 6 y/o is sitting on your lap reading Claycord with you. Because I know you would never let her out of your sight where she could get into mischief. Or do you put her in the dog run during “daddy’s computer time”?

PS. I hope Bella was found.

20 CONCORD925 January 27, 2012 at 7:56 PM

One ugly dog! I would let it run away too if I had to see it everyday!!

21 CJ January 27, 2012 at 10:23 PM

Patrick, I’ll assume you have neither a dog nor kids who open doors at the wrong time. If so, keep it that way. The world will be a better place.

22 BUBBLES January 27, 2012 at 10:28 PM

@Patrick Bitter Much?? What a sweat heart another person that just goes around with their nasty opinions about everything.

23 Anonymous January 27, 2012 at 11:51 PM

To Bella’s family: she is a sweetie. I sincerely hope that you get her back real soon. Posting her disappearance on Claycord along with her photo is a smart thing to do. Please keep us posted & good luck in finding her.

24 Cowellian January 28, 2012 at 8:19 AM

Leigha@12,
Do we have any confirmation that Bella has been found? I do hope so.

I’ll admit a fondness for Boston Terrors. And they are very good with young children.

25 CONCORD925 January 28, 2012 at 8:34 AM

@cowellian#24
Great name for mutant looking dog. Boston Terror.

26 Cowellian January 28, 2012 at 10:33 AM

I should have known that I couldn’t sneak one by this crowd! ;)

27 Kristin January 29, 2012 at 5:48 PM
