The San Francisco Giants opened a new dugout store in Walnut Creek today.

Thanks to “eknirb” for the pictures from today’s grand opening event.

Hey, wait a minute, doesn’t the East Bay belong to the Oakland A’s?

A’s should complain, when they want to abandon the East Bay for San Jose the Giants raise a ruckus about having the terrirtory. Isn’t this interloping into the A’s territory. Or do the Giants know something about teams moving that we don’t. hummmm

Where is it at in W.C.?

3 Kevin December 3, 2011 at 4:40 PM

And yet they won’t cede exclusive rights to San Jose. Hopefully Selig’s fact-finding team includes this encroachment in their 3-years-in-the-making assessment.

4 Samuelson December 3, 2011 at 4:43 PM

Tons more Giants fans in central county than A’s fans.

5 Giants December 3, 2011 at 4:46 PM

Dugout Store is on S. Main St. right across from Crate & Barrel.

Giants > A’s

Los Gigantes!!!! Finally, now men have something to do in WC while the ladies go shopping. Hey honey, don’t I make this look good?? :-)

7 Anon December 3, 2011 at 4:47 PM

Ever seen the a’s attendance at the coliseum? I don’t think they can lay claim to any territory right now

8 Pleasant Jenny December 3, 2011 at 4:57 PM

@Samuelson. True that! I always joke that Fresnans (where I grew up) actually believe that Fresno is “in the Bay Area of San Francisco”.

9 Athleticsfan December 3, 2011 at 5:22 PM

A’s 4 World Titles to the Giants first one after 50+ years so you can suck it Giants fans. Wonder how much room that bandwagon has after that first World Series, they were not around before it.

10 Samuelson December 3, 2011 at 5:43 PM

Pleasant Jenny, I meant Central County as in Central Contra Costa County Concord to San Ramon to Orinda…BUTyou are right Central Valley is a huge Giants areas. I have freinds in Hanford and Lemoore and it’s most def Giants Territory.

11 @Athleticsfan December 3, 2011 at 5:45 PM

Whiney baby much?

12 anon December 3, 2011 at 5:56 PM

@Athletics Fan:
A’s have ceased being relevant long ago. garbage stadium with a AA roster. the last time you won anything was…….when exactly? Well, at least they made a movie of your GM.

When the wheels fall off the Giants Bandwagon in two years this dump will be shutting its doors for good.

15 SweetC in PHill December 3, 2011 at 6:57 PM

Awesome! It is supposed to be as big as the one at the ballpark.

16 Melissa December 3, 2011 at 7:36 PM

You should have seen the turn out today! I was in line for three hours, yes true tattooed fan right here! Didn’t get my tat because of the world series ya I’ve had it for 5 yrs now!!!! Giants fans are every where in CCC, people think its A’s territory but really walk into Sport Chalet on Willow Pass ask any employee majority are Giants fans! I think at one point it was 20 giants fan employees to 5 a’s fan employees or the rest just don’t care about baseball!!! It’s about time a giants dugout store came over here! You dont see any A’s stores around this area at all and the raiders had to close their pleasant hill store and I believe another one as well! The giants are going to make a killing in walnut creek!!!

17 Anon December 3, 2011 at 8:45 PM

Who cares. Just another waste of your time. No different than gaming or watching porn, a whole lotta time invested and NOTHING to show for it. But Hey, It is America and you are free to do as you please, even if you are deceived.

18 PH FAN December 3, 2011 at 8:49 PM

Totally gonna check it out. Go Giants!

19 Anon December 3, 2011 at 9:06 PM

I find it hard to believe there is enough demand for this that they would open a physical store. It will be interesting to see how long is stays open.

20 A's Fan December 3, 2011 at 10:38 PM

Really??? The A’s are the real Bay Area team, Get the Giants out of the East Bay!

21 Let's go Oak land!! December 3, 2011 at 10:49 PM

This can be giants territory so why won’t the giants brass let the a’s move to San Jose? It’s good for the a’s and good for baseball. But those short sighted morons who run the giants are currently blocking them.

BtW all these fans are bandwagon fans. If the a’s had won a series they’d all be wearing a’s gear

22 A's>Giants December 3, 2011 at 11:46 PM

Giants will never win another world series for a long time. The A’s will always be better, They smacked them in the 1989 World Series!!!!!! More than half of Giant Fans don’t know anything about baseball, people like them just because they won a world series. That’s 1 world series in 50 years! A’s>Giants any day

23 ryan December 4, 2011 at 8:59 AM

A’s fans sure are a pathetic bunch. Nothing to use against the Giants except for their 22 year ago glory series against the Giants. And as for the A’s being “Bay Areas” team, seriously? Pretty sure the Giants were selling out ATT long before we won the series while the A’s have a hard enough time giving away free tickets and hot dogs.

24 GoGo Gomez December 4, 2011 at 9:10 AM

GIANTS!!!! ! !!!!!

25 Living in Claycord December 4, 2011 at 10:11 AM

Hey, wait a minute, doesn’t the East Bay belong to the Oakland A’s?

The orgasmic desire of the already financially overextended public to spend hard earned bucks on unnecessary and irrelevant stuff knows no bounds or regional boundaries. I have a friend whose out of work for 4 months husband went down there and put $400 worth of Giants paraphernalia on his credit card. Can’t wait to hear the start of World War III when his wife sees the bill.

26 Athleticsfan December 4, 2011 at 12:49 PM

@ryan #22

Yes they are selling out because they got a new ballpark. I didnt see all these Giant fans visiting Candlestick. The A’s dont have a new ballpark because the Giants are being A-holes about letting the A’s build in San Jose, trying to say its their territory. Well guess what, it was A’s territory until the Haas family gave you the rights to it so you could build a ballpark there if you wanted when you were looking to build a new ballpark somewhere. Now the Giants are trying to C-block the A’s new ballpark

A’s > Giants

Suck it.l

27 JustMe December 4, 2011 at 1:41 PM

I was going to ask where as well, but I see someone mentioned it. Funny thing, I was in Walnut Creek Friday and Saturday, at Crate and Barrel both days, and didn’t even notice the new store. I’ll have to check it out.

28 Miss Lisa December 4, 2011 at 1:47 PM

Funny how the losers choke on the taste of sour grapes.
What is funnier still is the fact that those same losers fail to place responsibility for the cultivation of those very same grapes with the Athletics.
Poor business planning and operation is the result of incompetence. Is it really fair to blame others for one’s own failures?
Here’s a thought you pinhead, why not support both team and just enjoy the game. That’s what I do.

29 Shuley December 4, 2011 at 2:48 PM

Oakland sports fans do not support their teams. Can you name another city that has three major professional sports team that are all so bad?

30 Giants Fan since '78! December 4, 2011 at 9:34 PM

Fact: The Giants were a Bay Area team FIRST!
Fact: “In the last 11 seasons, the Giants have drawn at least 3 million fans nine times. Their lowest attendance was in 2009, when they drew 2.8 million fans. During those same 11 seasons, the A’s have never drawn more than 2.2 million and have drawn fewer than 2 million six times, including the past five consecutive seasons.” That’s why the Giants can open a store in Walnut Creek… “if you build it… they will come!”

31 PuppyDawg December 5, 2011 at 9:08 AM

I see no reason why the A’s shouldn’t open a store in SF. Yeah, that’ll show them arrogant gnats that 2 can play their game!!

32 Go Giants December 5, 2011 at 9:48 AM

A`s did win three World Series in a row (in the 70`s)
But then Charlie Finley sold off the whole team.
And the team went from great to terrible in one year.
Then the fricking DH showed up.
So all the real baseball fans went over to the Giants.
Pitchers not batting, and a hitter not playing the field is not real baseball.

I do agree, that a lot of bandwagon people jumped on in 2010.
But there were more Giants fans in the East bay even before 2010.
Now it`s not even close.

A`s fans kind of like their team.
Giants fans are true fans, and wear their colors more often.

So don`t be jealous of the Giants fans.
An A`s store would not last a month.
No one wants to wear A`s gear.
Not even most A`s fans.
If a player becomes any good, they trade him.
If a GM puts together a team that makes the playoffs. (but never wins a series)
They make a movie about him.

Giants don`t need a movie.
We have AT&T

33 A's Beats Giants December 5, 2011 at 12:35 PM

@Go Giants you really dont know what your talking about. A’s BABY
