Home Invasion Robbery in Pleasant Hill

November 8, 2011 · 15 comments

Pleasant Hill Police are investigating a home invasion robbery which took place at about 11:17pm on Monday night.

According to Police, two victims were returning home from shopping. As they enter their apartment in the 300 block of Camelback Road, the suspect followed them inside and ordered them to the floor at gunpoint.

Two other victims already in the apartment heard the commotion in the living room and went to investigate. They too were confronted at gunpoint and ordered to the ground. The suspect stole the electronics and fled in an unknown direction. No victims were injured.

The suspect is described as a white male adult, 20 to 40 years old, 5’10” tall, between 160 to 190 lbs. with short light brown hair, wearing a dark color puffy jacket and dark color pants with a red and white patterned bandana covering his face. He was also armed with a large blue semi-auto handgun.

The suspect might be associated with a burgundy color Scion TC coupe.

Anybody with information should call the Pleasant Hill Police Department.

Between 20and 40 years old and between 160-190 pounds?! Seriously those are pretty vague descriptions. No wonder robbers don’t always get caught. I mean, that’s a scary thing and I feel for the victims and I get that it was a pressured situation and they prolly all four gave different descriptions, but damn. Narrow it down alil more so we all know who were looking for.

Um….wtf?
Are you serious??? Most victims of an armed robbery are so terrified and focus on the gun, often describing it as being “THIS BIG”!

The biggest thing here is that it shows all of us just how easy it is to commit such a robbery. Few witnesses, the crook controls the whole situation, the victims are unaware they are being targeted, and you are supposed to be safe in your own home. Your “antenna” is not “up”. Then the bad guy surprises you and suddenly you are in fear of your life!.

Crook only has to tell the victim “if you call the cops” I’m coming back. They already KNOW where YOU live.

So…Claycordians….BE ALERT WHEN YOU ARE RETURNING HOME FROM SHOPPING, ESPECIALLY IF YOU BUY SOMETHING EXPENSIVE. Other people are watching you! Be aware if you may be followed.

Considering the gunman had his face pretty much covered and was wearing a puffy jacket it would make assuming an exact weight or age rather difficult. I’m just glad no one was physically injured. The emotional and psychological damages are another story.

As for the items stolen, material is replaceable a life is not.

Those gun laws sure worked, didn’t they? Be willing to bet that this happened within 1000 ft of a school too…

Restrict law-abiding citizens from carrying for the purpose of self defense, and you’ll have much more of these home invasions occurring.

Thanks, Jerry Brown! You took away the last 2nd amendment right we had, and have forced us to be at the mercy of the criminals.

my condolences to those who were robbed, and I’m glad that this did not turn into a deadly situation.

Glad nobody was hurt or worse. Seems to be a lot of calls, for PD to that area.

“He was also armed with a large blue semi-auto handgun.”

I wonder if that’s supposed to be “blued” instead of “blue”? “Blued” in the world of firearms refers to the color of the exterior finish, which pretty much appears as black in color. If it actually was a “blue” colored gun, it may have been a replica that is manufactured for use in LEO, Military & Civilian firearms training (Bluegun / Redgun). The products from Bluegun, are an obvious shade that I would call “Royal Blue”.

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t (there are a lot of new & custom gun colors, these days). I just can’t help but wonder.

That’s why I always have a family member manning the .50 cal machine-gun nest whenever I return home before I unlock the front door!

This is the same complex where a stabbing and attempted car jacking took place. Hopefully the victims are not Vietnamese and Pleasant Hill police conduct a thorough investigation resulting in prosecution of the perp. Unlike the first of two criminal acts spelled out in juryuninformed.blogspot.com.

No there are a lot of 9mm with metal blue finishes. The brand Kel Tec makes such handguns.

I was speaking to a local here in Dublin, Ireland today and he said that Irish citizens can’t even purchase guns. The police here don’t even carry weapons on them. They’re not even allowed to carry pepper spray I was told. All they have is their batons. The big cities here in Ireland have their share of problems just like any other city.

The Irish guy said that people can join gun clubs at the shooting ranges where the weapons are supplied but go through a complete background check and aren’t always granted to join. Makes California sound like a Right To Carry state!

Sinn Feiner #10,
Ireland (been there & loved it) is an island where most folks look similar. (read not much racial difference) Obviously controlling the masses in such a place is less complicated. (N. Ireland excepted)
While they may enjoy shooting targets for fun on Saturday, prior to hitting the pubs, there isn’t much in the way of hunting. The occasional bunny maybe.
Are their roaming gangs of thugs like we enjoy? Do they have the pleasure of home takeovers and carjacking like us?
Is the right to bear arms one of their original and strongest traditions? Is it part of their founding documents?
Were their gun rights taken away by an oppressive government overlord (the good King) as a means to maintain ultimate control?
And finally: Do their bad guys have guns?
Ireland was settled when battles were fought with “sticks and stones”.
The New World was settled when battles were fought with guns.
I don’t own a gun but I’ll take a Right To Carry state every time.
Thanks and enjoy your trip.
ps: Not a criticism of your post, just an opinion.

@The Kid #9,
Those are “blued” finishes.

Ireland dosen’t allow people to carry even pocket knives, let alone legally own firearms. While Gov. Brown did sign 3 gun control laws recently, people can still defend their homes with guns.He did veto the ammo registration bill, which is something. His signing of the long gun registry bill will cost at least $400mil.Canada’s registry has cost over $1bil. and there’s no evidence that it helps reduce crime, it does create a hassle for law abiding citizens. This world is getting to be a real ugly, evil place..
