The Pleasant Hill Police are once again investigating a robbery.

According to the PHPD, they responded to the report of a purse snatch that occurred in front of 91 Gregory Lane at about 4pm on Wednesday afternoon.

They say a woman walking in the area was approached by a Hispanic female. The Hispanic female forcibly took the victim’s purse, knocking her to the ground. The victim chased the suspect to an awaiting vehicle that was stopped nearby. The suspect then got into the vehicle and was driven away by a white female in her 20’s. The vehicle went westbound on Gregory Lane to northbound Cleaveland Road.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.

This is the second robbery in two days in Pleasant Hill, but the two are not related.

Any witnesses to this incident are asked to call the Pleasant Hill Police Department’s Investigation Division at 925-288-4630.

So now it’s come to purse-snatching in broad daylight – by young women no less. Awful. It seems to me that there was an incidence in the last year or so around the P.H. Safeway (in the parking lot). Hmmmm. I wonder if the perp did her time and was released and is now back on the streets.

Correction: an incident – not incidence…

If the PHPD were smart, they’d start all of their investigations in Concord. That’s were all the plight originates.

I’m really getting tired and irritated about having to hear of these ghetto people ruining our sense of safety and streets within our communities! They’re nothing but dirtbags that should learn to respect themselves and others. I hope they catch these low life, uneducated thugs. One day their ghetto and negative past will catch up with them. Once they’re caught, hopefully they reap the parallel fate of their victims in their county cell by their cellmates!

I feel so sorry for the poor woman that was attacked. I hope someone comes forward with some inf to catch these morons.

Personally, I don’t even feel safe carrying purse anymore and have not for some time now. I just purchased one of these wallets @REI for $20 and it completely zips closed and has a long skinny strap to wear over your shoulder and is less obvious. It is comfortable to wear inside a cardigan or jacket. Here is the link if anyone wants to check it out.

Ladies, you should all look at the small travel purses and wallets at The Container Store in Walnut Creek. They have the Sherpani line that Sign of the Times noted, as well as a large line of bags from Baggalini. They also have the Eagle Creek security wallets that go around your neck or waist that can be worn under your clothes.

These types of incidents are on the rise and will continue in our current economic environment. I have noticed that there is more petty thefts and burglery and straight up robberies lately. Rather than buy safer purses, actually still buy the safer purse, but what we really need to do is look out for each other. It is time for the HONEST people of the world to start a GANG. When I was in the Army we used to joke that we were members of the badest gang in the world. Now I am serious with this, the thug life needs to be extinguished. It has been tolerated too long, and it’s effects are draining this country of vital resources that could be used elsewhere. Like a wildfire the best way to fight it, is to prevent it from starting. It really is time for Americans to rally togther and make an environment where criminals fear to tread, not the other way around! There should be no where for these lowlifes to exist, and all it takes is for one person to watch out for another. Pick up the phone if you see a crime, get involved, be on the watch for suspicious activity and if you see a crime, take notice and report what you witness…

I often walk around our PH neighborhood and the best protection is still, stay alert at all times and be aware of your suroundings. It doesn’t matter if it’s Pleasant Hill or New York City. Crimes of opportunity happen every single day and scum lives everywhere. You are not safer here than in any other corner of the world, just pay attention. While shopping, don’t leave your valuables in your cart, but keep them by your side. The wallet mentioned in one of the posts above is a really good idea. If it’s valuable to you, it’s likely valuable to someone else as well, so watch your stuff, pay attention to your surroundings and look people in the eyes don’t stare on the floor as you trot along. There I said it, people make themselves targets by avoiding interaction with their surroundings.
