On September 24th at midnight, Concord Police officers went to a residence in the 1600 block of Donaldson Court, which is off Olive Drive, looking for a subject who was wanted for an outstanding warrant for violation of parole.
Lt. Jim Lardieri with the Concord Police Department tells us when they arrived, they found an underage girl who was allegedly being forced into prostitution….
The officers located the wanted subject and arrested him. This subject is identified as Mario Cano, age 33.
The officers also located a 37 year old male and 16 year old female at the residence. The officers became suspicious of both of these subjects’ explanation as to what the 16 year old female was doing at the residence.
As the investigation progressed, it was determined by officers that the female had been reported as a runaway juvenile from the city of Vacaville. Officers developed information that the 37 year old male identified as Derrick Jackson had been allegedly employing the 16 year old female to engage in acts of prostitution. Jackson was arrested by officers.
Officers served a search warrant at the residence in connection with the arrest of Jackson. Both Jackson and Cano were booked on suspicion of the following charges:
- Contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of obscene matter
- Unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor
- Solicitation of prostitution
- Pandering for prostitution
- Human trafficking a subject under 18 years of age
- Lewd and lascivious acts with a child
Both Cano and Jackson were booked at the Concord Police Department jail and were later transferred to the Main Detention Facility in Martinez.
