Vandals strike Clayton Valley High School

September 2, 2010 9:43 am · 89 comments

On August 19th of this year, Clayton Valley High School administration found Gonsalves Stadium broken into, and heavily damaged.

The following information is from an anonymous tipster from within Clayton Valley High School….

Vandals broke into the locked stadium where  they moved player benches to the center of the field.  The vandals  also broke into the Press Box causing over $2,500 worth of damages that included breaking video surveillance cameras,  breaking off the door locks, breaking the roof hatch and damaging the electrical panel cover. They also dislodged the contents of the fire extinguisher inside of the Press Box. The vandals left  the torn off video cameras strewn about and left the Press Box windows open.

Images of the alleged vandals (pictured above) were caught on tape that showed them moving two benches to the center of the field at approx. 8:42 p.m. on Wednesday evening (August 18th).  At approx. 9:00 p.m.,  the alleged vandals made their way up the bleachers to the Press Box where they ripped camera’s from their bases, but not before they were caught on tape flipping the bird and dancing. They climbed to the roof of the Press Box where they broke in and continued their rampage.

Anybody with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Tim Elsberry with the Concord Police Department at 603-5828. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the Concord Police Department Tipline at 603-5836 or the Bay Area Crimestoppers at (800) 222-8477 (TIPS)

You can also email anonymous tips to mayor@claycord.com. Your tip will remain 100% anonymous and it will be given to the Concord Police Department.

I actually recognize these kids… Mayor, is it too late for them to come forward and pay for the damage as punishment or are the police going to be brought in regardless?

2 the Shi ite September 2, 2010 at 9:54 am

I never would have thought the dunce hat would become popular. Oh, and clothing 5x larger than normal.

3 MissMelyssa September 2, 2010 at 9:56 am

Ya know, I never heard of this many break-ins at the school when I was attneding it.
What is going on?
Is it just the ‘economy’ again?
Is this another episode of CV students causing a much again?

Clayton Valley, well, all of Concord, used to be a quiet place to live.
What is going on?

4 Mr. Mayor September 2, 2010 at 9:57 am

Football Dad, The police have been involved since day one. I think it’s up to the school, but they need to pay for what they’ve (allegedly) done. Send me an email, I will keep you anonymous.

5 Garcia September 2, 2010 at 9:58 am

And I’m sure all their “gangster” upper middle class white friends think they are super “hardcore” for breaking things and costing taxpayers money. I wish I was that cool. All the “gangster” white kids in Clayton think would I am a total nerd. You have to be very brave to be that “hardcore”, I mean, running around under cover of darkness and breaking stuff and running away, thats some real bravery eh?

6 Steve R September 2, 2010 at 10:03 am

This is depressing. Do these kids nowadays have nothing better to do than f–k up things? Seriously – I was in high school not too long ago myself and we never would have done anything like this. I’ll bet the parents are losers too, these kids don’t stand a chance in life if they are doing this stuff already…..

Unbelievable.

7 SK September 2, 2010 at 10:04 am

Football Dad, I hope you do the right thing and turn these kids in. Think of how many other students were affected by their actions! They need a stern thumping!

8 ClaytonGal September 2, 2010 at 10:08 am

Isn’t it bad enough that parents have to pay for public school stuff already.

Now these jerks have to cause damage to school property.

I hope they get caught.

9 Ian September 2, 2010 at 10:12 am

What’s with people wearing their hats in the date rape position?

10 Luna September 2, 2010 at 10:18 am

Why did it take so long for the police to come out with this? I hope Football Dad really does know these kids and gets them to turn themselves in. We don’t have marching band this year due to vandals. Enough is enough.

11 CVHS Athlete Hater September 2, 2010 at 10:21 am

Ten bucks these kids are football players. That is how they coach them over there at CVHS. Remember the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour.

Maybe football dad is one of the dads of these kids and is trying to get his football son out of trouble???

12 Rob September 2, 2010 at 10:22 am

Along with paying for the damages – these hardcore wannabes should either server time in jail – or – be given the option to spend a few nights in downtown Oakland on the streets where they can figure out how hardcore they really are.

13 The Original Anon E. Mouse September 2, 2010 at 10:37 am

Told you so … about my comments months ago about locking down your teens. Poor parenting.
The parents should be publicly flogged and teens publicly caned and left in the pillory over the weekend then made to work off 2x the damages.
….

14 Liiving in Claycord September 2, 2010 at 10:42 am

Football Dad – the police need to be involved in this. Otherwise, my bet is that the kids folks would end up paying for the damage, not the kids. As a result, the kids would not learn a damned thing except that they could get away with damaging the property of others and their “stupid” folks would pay for it. Kids need to start owning up to their actions and pay the price.

15 Shaking my head . . . September 2, 2010 at 10:58 am

So is that what I have to look forward to for my kids if I decide to move from Concord to Clayton – growing up with a bunch of middle class idiot white kids who think being “gangsta” is cool. At least in Concord, the hard edge comes a little more naturally.

16 CaliNative September 2, 2010 at 11:03 am

Don’t expect too much from Football Dad… He is the one who thought the football players who were robbing and beating up 12 year olds should just apologize and pay for what they stole as punishment. Clayton Valley’s football team winning is apparently more important than teaching kids that there are consequences for their actions and hurting people and breaking other people’s property is not ok.

Re:CVHS Athlete Hater

Grow up!

18 Concord Mom September 2, 2010 at 11:14 am

What in the hell happened to CVHS? I thought that was a good school? Maybe it still is, but there are a whole lot of stories about punks who attend that school vandalizing, robbing, etc. I was psyched to be in the zone for my kids to go there. Now I am not so sure, it sounds crazy.

Someone really seriosuly needs to turn these kids in. How infuriating at this time when the schools are so broke to see these a-holes needlessly breaking stuff and flipping off the camera.

19 Mom of 3 September 2, 2010 at 11:15 am

Luna, no marching band at CVHS? What happened?

Just what CVHS needs, more vandalism and possibly their own students doing it. Anyone heard what is happening with the CVHS football players who assaulted & stole this summer? I hope they are not at CVHS and facing serious charges. Time for these kids to own up to their behavior and pay the price for it.

20 Concord Mom September 2, 2010 at 11:20 am

Another note: I never would have done this as a teenager. But if I had, and my parents found out about it, they would have broken everything I owned or that was important to me in front of my face to teach me a lesson. They would have called the police on me themselves and made sure I was sentenced to lots of community service. I am sure they would have paid for the damage I caused. Then they would have made me earn the money to pay everything back to them, with interest, even if it meant paying them back for years. My parents did not play.

21 rubicon September 2, 2010 at 11:26 am

And people wonder why regular law-abiding citizens look down at “flatbillers” and their stupid oversize clothes falling off of their bodies? Who exactly do these idiots believe is going to think they’re cool for doing this?

22 Hahahahah September 2, 2010 at 11:27 am

These kids look like the biggest pinners imaginable. Look at the top one with his hilariously retarded hat and clothing that looks multiple sizes too big for him.

23 Enforce the Law September 2, 2010 at 11:35 am

Football Dad–Instead of worrying about the appropriate level of punishment why don’t you do the right thing. It is your moral responsibility to identify these criminals and let the system take over. Don’t take this as a blanket statement that the system is great. It actually is quite terrible, but only because it is far too lenient towards early offenders. Let these criminals pay a severe price now and, just maybe, they will realize the errors of their ways and change their future behavior.

24 Ditto! September 2, 2010 at 11:54 am

Enforce The Law… You took the words right out of my mouth.

25 Anon777 September 2, 2010 at 11:55 am

Check the high school sports rosters! And Football Dad again? Wanting to do the right thing this time? At least that’s better than saying “oh can’t turn these kids in, my son’s scholarship will suffer” BOO HOO!

26 DM September 2, 2010 at 11:55 am

Parents like “Football Dad” are the reason some kids act this. Here’s a thought, how about some parents actually make their kids be RESPONSIBLE for their actions. It is not such a bad thing!

27 anonamom September 2, 2010 at 11:56 am

I’m pretty sure Football Dad is not the only person who recognizes these punks. You’ll whine about how your neighbor’s tree messes up your yard, or call the police because someone’s music is too loud, or… (you name it).

Someone involved the police last night over somebody removing clothes out of a community washer so it could be used by someone else. For pete’s sake people–think about it! Now, stand up, help the whole city, and make these and all punks accountable for their actions.

28 your killing me... September 2, 2010 at 11:58 am

A couple of kids on the football team screw up and all of a sudden the whole team is a bunch of misfit criminals? Believe it or not there are some really good kids that play football and attend Clayton Valley High School. Another thing, do any of you know a family that the parents were involved, had rules and morals that they instilled upon their children, the kid goes out one day and does something really stupid. There are good parents out there that do watch and care for their kids but there is a time you must give some freedom. Some kids can handle the freedom and some can’t.
Don’t be so quick to crucify the parents, they only have so much control.

29 to mom of 3 September 2, 2010 at 12:04 pm

2 of the 3 kids that were involved with the robbery/beatings are in juvie, the other one on the first day of school got the crap beat out of him. 2 of the victims in the assaults got together and did some street justice, and were suspended for a week.

30 CaliNative September 2, 2010 at 12:09 pm

Concord Mom -

Parents like Football Dad is what happened to CVHS. Parents who teach their children and the children of their community through their actions that as long as they can throw a football (or catch one) that they can do whatever they want without consequences. And I agree. Number one, I would have never done this as a teenager, and number two, my parents would have made sure I wasd punished for it.

31 o.o September 2, 2010 at 12:13 pm

The dude in the 3rd pic looks hell of familiar

32 Buy some new cameras! September 2, 2010 at 12:17 pm

Where do these places buy their video cameras? Goodwill? It seems like whether it’s a bank a school or a convenience store, the pictures often released to the public of the suspects are grainy and often too blurry to recognize anyone. If you care about your business, whatever it is, it’s time to invest in some higher quality equipment.

33 jtkatec September 2, 2010 at 12:22 pm

to mom of 3 – thanks for that information. Wow.

Everyone’s actions have a ripple effect on other’s.

They didn’t just strong-arm kids for their ipods, but effected these kids so they then turned around and took the street justice path.

34 Tired of all of IT September 2, 2010 at 12:38 pm

As a Mom of a student at CVHS and a resident of Clayton I guess I am one of the few parents left that would make my kid pay for their actions and turn them in if I found out they were involved in anything like this. Luckily I did a good job teaching them between right and wrong and nothing has come up, but if I did see their picture on a web page my first call would be to the police. THEY MUST be held responsible for all actions no matter what age. If you your 2 year old throws a rock at your head you would you really just smile at them and say “aww, you almost killed me but that is ok”. ???

Why is everybody bagging on Football Dad?

37 anonymous September 2, 2010 at 12:40 pm

These lowlife, bottom dwelling, losers obviously have nothing better to do with their lives. They need major therapy for all the anger they vent out on the school’s property. Sad to say but these idiots are on the road to oblivion.
If you act like garbage, you are garbage………

38 MBA September 2, 2010 at 12:48 pm

Can else anyone verify to mom of 3′s story? Re: the street justice/revenge?

39 hewhoiscalledj September 2, 2010 at 1:09 pm

How do we know they are CVHS kids? I went to CVHS and remember quite a bit of high school pranks on other neighboring schools. Maybe these kids are from YV or Concord or something… It’s one thing to TeePee the other school, and quite another to cause so much destruction. Punks indeed.

40 DLSROCKS September 2, 2010 at 1:22 pm

this kind of stuff never happens at DLS or Carondelet….. just sayin. Coincidence? I think not.

41 cletus mcphearson September 2, 2010 at 2:28 pm

Attention dlsrocks. Your right your DLS buddies just do doughnuts on soccer fields.

42 Drvrdadca September 2, 2010 at 2:41 pm

CONCORD MOM – Are we related? I swear that my Parents would have done the same thing as would I if those were my kids. The problem today is that Parents are to afraid to do anything to their kids for fear of them being turned over to CPS or being looked at as bad Parents. Frankly, I don’t give a rats ass what others think of how I parent, as long as my child knows right from wrong and their name doesn’t show up on a Police blotter EVER!

Parents, you/we need to take back our lives and our children and teach them right from wrong. Teenagers need jobs (whether conventional or working in the neighborhood) to keep their hands busy.

DLSROCKS – they might just be a tiny bit smarter to not get caught, but by no means are the angels (no pun intended)

43 Anon777 September 2, 2010 at 3:01 pm

Harold of the Rocks: “Why is everybody bagging on Football Dad?” You would have to go back to the “football players arrested for beating/robbing children” story a few weeks back. Once you’ve read all his comments, you will understand.

DLSROCKS: “never happens at DLS or Carondelet”; maybe never “happens” at these schools, but kids from these schools being involved with things like this or doing stupid shit? Absolutely! They probably have rich parents who buy them out of their troubles more than other kids, but I know they are out there! Don’t fool yourself.

44 Rusty Nails September 2, 2010 at 3:07 pm

ConcordMom/Drvrdadca: Some people may call that harsh, I call that parenting! To paraphrase my parents: “Under my roof, My Rules” These kids are going to have a harsh awakening when they hit the real world.

“Don’t be so quick to crucify the parents, they only have so much control.”
I’m going to have to beg to differ on that, you are the parent, you are in control. When they turn 18, they can make all the mistakes they want. Until then, YOU, the parent is responsible for them. When kids start making the rules, they turn out like this …

46 bosco September 2, 2010 at 3:28 pm

Why is the school district putting up these cheap cameras? I haven’t heard of anyone being caught because of the videos yet. Most vandalism happens at night and the cameras are almost worthless at night. I’ve seen other videos and they are horrible pictures.Someone is making a lot of money for nothing.

47 Mom of 3 September 2, 2010 at 3:57 pm

I have no idea if what #29 “to Mom of 3″ wrote is true. But I did hear there was a bad fight at CVHS on the first day of school.

Don’t we wish the school could afford high quality camera’s, but these photo’s seem good enough if you know who these kids are. We have no idea where these kids go or went to school. Sadly Clayton has had its share of problems, but there are great athlete’s and students at CVHS, the bad ones seem to over-shadow the good right now

Oh #39, who is in the news a lot, Clayton High, not Concord or YV. It seems that CVHS and its parents and students need to work together to stop all this nonsense.

48 Larrabee September 2, 2010 at 4:05 pm

#32/ Bosco,
You’re right, these images look more like evidence of paranormal activity than an actual human event.

49 Luna September 2, 2010 at 5:34 pm

Yes, Mom of 3, no marching band.. it was early summer I believe that a kid burned down a storage building that housed some gardening equipment AND marching band equipment. So that is one reason there is no formal marching band.

I have kids at CVHS. It’s a big school. If your kids hang out with good kids, i don’t think you have much to worry about. In fact, neither knew about a fight on campus last week. So of 2000 kids, they’ll have lots of choices as friends, so it’s not all bad there. I grew up in a nearby (considered affluent town) and there were fights, kids doing donuts, drugs, vandalism and everything else there too. Not sure why , but it seems some other towns just do a better job at keeping a lid on it. Or maybe they just don’t have claycord – not sure. I do have to say though, the one fashion “statement” I hate with a passion is those flat billed hats, especially when they’re turned to the side – associate that with the baggy clothes and exposed underwear, I’m sorry , but they look like thugs…

One thing I’ve figured out though.. you can’t pick your kids friends when they’re in high school – but you can set them up for having good friends all the years before hand , know their friends families, involve them in sports, monitor their activities, be an active and involved parent and though you can ‘t pick their friends, you hopefully laid the right foundation for them to make the right choices.

50 Scoots September 2, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Might be paranormal activity, or it might be extraterrestrial. Check out their eyes. They look like the Jawa creatures (the ones that got R-2D2 in the 1st Star Wars Movie) only taller and not wearing robes. I’ve got 5 bucks that says they’re Jawa.

51 Nelson Muntz September 2, 2010 at 7:20 pm

@ Mom of three – I did not hear about the fight. Why in the world would they let the 3 kid back at CVHS. The adminstration should be suspended for a week for allowing that to happen.

52 Moneypenny September 2, 2010 at 7:23 pm

Drvrdadca, some parents are also very insecure about their parenting and think that their child will not love them or like them anymore if they punish them.
They also might want to protect them from any and all consequences like a bear does his cub. Not always a good thing.
These parents do not realize they are doing more damage/harm to their own children by NOT teaching them right from wrong and the responsibility that comes from your actions.
I’m an older mother of a 5 year old. I want to know that when I depart this world, I’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that my son can survive on his own. He’ll be a responsible, compassionate and successful human being who won’t need mommy or daddy to bail him out/fix his problems. I want to be able to sleep at night…….

53 Lari September 2, 2010 at 9:19 pm

Grrrr…I live close to CVHS and I have noticed more of these ‘types’ in the grainy pics walking around our neighborhood. Once, a kid pulled out a bong right in front of my house and started using it. These guys are usually on skateboards. If you come outside and look at them, they do tend to leave. Hope these guys are caught soon and pay for the the damages.

54 Football Dad Hater September 2, 2010 at 10:07 pm

Hey Nelson Muntz,

Of course they let them back into school. You didn’t really think that the coach and AD would let some of their best football players not play did you.

Apparently the vandalism was done by vampires.

58 Dizzy September 2, 2010 at 11:49 pm

I cannot believe how much crime is going on in the clayton/concord area lately. There was this and the fights that were talked about in the comments along with the band equipment being burned. My boyfriend lives in the state streets and his car was stolen a few days ago and recovered that night… over by circle k…. then they tried to steal it again the next night!!!!!! Then a day or two after that there was a stolen car found down the street from his house. It’s crazy to think all of this is going on in a place that is supposed to be so nice to live in.

59 The Mamba September 3, 2010 at 10:47 am

The vandals are zombies! Look at their eyes!

60 sumsocool September 3, 2010 at 11:20 am

Kids make mistakes! At least they didn’t beat anyone up are rob a store at gun point. Parents need to talk to their kids and let them know about consequences. My kids would probably rather be arrested than be brought home to me. They know I would hold them responsible for their actions. Parents let their kids hang out too much going and doing what ever they want, it only gets them in trouble. Why do people let their children dress like thugs, they will only act like thugs. Why do mothers let their daughters wear cocktail dresses to school or daisy dukes, is that helping with their GPA? Style isn’t always appropriate at school.

61 Mom! September 3, 2010 at 11:32 am

“Harold of the Rocks September 2, 2010 at 12:38 PM

Why is everybody bagging on Football Dad?”

People are “bagging on Football Dad” because he is clearly not a proponent of personal responsibility. He seems to want to sweep it under the rug and under-emphasize the seriousness of these criminal activities. These kids (if they ARE even kids) may have their whole futures ahead of them but if they are never taught that their actions have consequences, they will just join the ranks of the low-life jackasses who ruin it for everyone else. And they are off to a good start apparently…

I agree that it starts with the parents. I have seen teenagers hanging out on the streets late at night regularly in this area (I live in Concord). There is absolutely no reason to be hanging out on the street at 11:00pm. Why are parents letting their kids do this? I have a teenage son, and even though he is pushing for more and more freedom, we give it only as he proves his trustworthiness. And even then, he has to let us know where he is, where he is headed and who else is there. Teenagers hanging out, getting bored and, clearly, lacking any moral compass – well, that scenario rarely ends well.

Be parents people. Your kids don’t need you to be their “friend” they need you to be a parent. And no, it’s not fun being the “bad guy” and saying “no,” and making your kids understand that the right decision isn’t always the popular one.

Of course, if you are a sucky loser too, I guess you’re just gonna pass that on. Hopefully their are enough of us raising good kids by setting good examples to compensate for the rest of you. Or good teachers who try to pick up the slack but probably get “bagged on” by sucky loser parents for doing it.

Self-righteous as always,

Mom!

62 anon September 3, 2010 at 11:42 am

The Clayton Business and Community Association gave the high school funds to buy the cameras. The school district doesn’t have money for that kind of thing. Many citizens volunteer their time to raise money and improve the way of life we all enjoy here.
The schools belong to the people, we pay for them.
Who thinks “Hey I’m bored, let’s go destroy public property” ?
There is no reason we, as a community, should not insist that these kids get the harshest punishment possible.
What would you do if it were your home?
Disgusting!

Mayor, did Football dad ever email you and let you know who these boys are?

64 Football Dad September 3, 2010 at 12:21 pm

No, I did not take the Mayor up on his offer. Having a criminal record in today’s world is far worse than the damage done. I’m not going to ruin some kid’s life over a couple grand.

I plan to reach out to the parents; hopefully they will make it right by the district.

65 Mom! September 3, 2010 at 12:50 pm

Football Dad,

I guess you don’t think setting a good example for your little football player is important then? Guess what? You aren’t ruining anyone’s life by doing the right thing. They did the honor themselves. It’s not just a crime when you are caught.

So if you knew some teenager had raped someone? Killed someone? Is it all not worth having a criminal record?

I sure hope I don’t ever need you to do the right thing for me.

What a copout!

So what’s the lesson for the kids if the parents don’t want to enforce your version of justice? Your kids are headed for trouble!

MBA- You should go back to school because you are obviously ignorant. Are you saying that parents who makes excuses for their kids fall solely in the liberal category? Geez! What a maroon!

70 Anon-E-Cat September 3, 2010 at 1:34 pm

I don’t care who gave Clayton Valley High the funds for the lights, speakers audio equipment etc. All I know is, ever since they’ve been using the new audio equipment, I can hear it at my house, and I never used to. They should turn it down! We don’t want to listen to it.

And before you trolls start saying things about you shouldn’t have bough so close to the school, I’m not close. This change happened recently, we’ve lived in this area over 15 years and never used to hear it.

Definition of MAROON
: a fugitive black slave of the West Indies and Guiana in the 17th and 18th centuries; also : a descendant of such a slave.
: to put ashore on a desolate island or coast and leave to one’s fate.
: a dark red

Is this what you are calling MBA? Or are you the one who needs to go back to school?

Just asking…

You’ll never win with people like this…they dont like kids hanging around, but they also dont like the lights or music which keep the kids busy.

Must be nice (or sad???) to have nothing more important to focus on in life then to complain about music or lights that support youth activities.

You are a HORRIBLE role model for your children. These kids dug their own grave when they decided to damage the property. They will NEVER learn to respect other people’s property, and you have just reinforced that behavior. The Mayor has your IP address and hopefully he will turn that over to the police. I do believe that you may be considered an accessory to the crime since you know who the perpetrators are, but will not report it

I thought Football Dad was a troll.

Charles the Cat- LOL!

MBA- Yes, I was channeling Bugs. In my experience, Conservatives like to seem like they are the law and order ones, but when it comes to themselves and their children, there are a lot of excuses. I can think of a recent VP candidate as an example.

I wouldn’t use political parties as the standard for good parenting and Charles the Cat is right that it is lazy stereotyping.

SK- Sorry, nothing heavy. Just a Bugs Bunny reference to thick headed-ness,

Mayor, please make sure that you forward Football Dad’s IP address to the police department so that they can trace it and question him. I cannot believe he would be so callous about not sharing the information with the police voluntarily, so screw him and let him be charged along with the kids.

Boys will be boys. How many of us have done bad things as teenagers? Football Dad, Mr. Mayor, and school officials, and the alleged perps need to get together and handle this in house.

As long as restituition is made and apologies given, why is there a need for reckless punishmen?

82 Joe Sullivan September 3, 2010 at 7:50 pm

All those people calling for heads to roll just have sad lives so they’re angry. Ignore them and do the right thing Mr. Mayor.

If I was Football Dad and someone traced me, I’d just say I was mistaken and to go “poop in your hat”. So why play hardball, as if it would work anyways? No, a scalpel is needed here not a sledgehammer. Just my two cents. God Bless.

MBA- sanctimonious is as sanctimonious does.

Joe, you are just as pathetic as Football Dad. This is not TeePeeing a house, or making crank calls. This MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY. Both of you should be ashamed of yourselves. Responsible parents would never blow this off as a teenage prank, Take care of your damn kids!

I think that if Football dad doesn’t cough up the names of these punks that he should be waterboarded unitl he does.

Hey if works with the Taliban I bet it would work with football dad. I bet he is one of those guys who thinks he is real tough.

As a parent , I have faced the:”rat on the neighbor kid”, or encourage them to “come clean & beg 4 mercy”. I do know 2 things:
1) It’s so easy to critique! We’re neighbors! any “other” ideas 4 FB dad?
2) Good citizens may be generational?
My parents – corporal punishment – 0 arrests/college grads!; Me – corporal punishment – 0 arrests/college grad!; My eldest – corporal punishment – 0 arrests/college grad!; My younger…well, she’s a union worker who better hurry up with the Coast Guard or moms going to utilize some…
Best to ALL & a safe weekend!!!

Joe S.- All you got is “Boys will be boys?”

I’ll guess that’s what you said when little junior was pushing kids off the slide at the park when he was three…

Or when he bullied a kid at school in 1st grade.

Or when he and his buddies hazed some nerdy kid at school.

And now you say it when someone destroys public property and you think it would be harsh to have them face up to the consequences.

Where will this behavior lead? If we take this story to it’s logical conclusion, it could end with some prison time by the kids and regrets that their parents didn’t give a damn and hold them to a higher standard.

Joe S and Football Dad are setting up these kids to live their lives as victims. They call others who want the kids to face the music, angry, and worry that the kids will have their lives ruined if it is reported. Poor boys! People are trying to hold them accountable!

Maybe the kids will learn something if they just have to make restitution, but maybe they will think that they can get away with anything if they just pay for it after the fact. Having the kids accept responsibility for their actions, may actually make them realize to put on the brakes before they do something wrong and are no longer juveniles who can get away with it.

I too get tired of the destruction of property, it is senseless. Young boys are impulsive and at times get caught up in the moment. Yes, they deserve punishment. You people on this blog or over the top at times, you have that, my kid would never attitude. Life has a way of teaching us lessons, so don’t take your eyes of your kids or grandkids for a moment, I’d hate to see them on this blog.
