Wednesday is another “Spare the Air” day

August 31, 2010 13:56 pm · 14 comments

Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 1, is a Spare the Air Day in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Concentrations of ground-level ozone pollution are forecast to be unhealthy tomorrow. Hot temperatures and light winds will combine to produce poor air quality for the Bay Area.

To help prevent smog tomorrow, please:

- Carpool or vanpool with friends or co-workers
- Take public transportation
- Telecommute — work from home instead of driving to work
- Link necessary trips and postpone errands if possible

To plan your commute online, visit 511.org.

To monitor current air quality conditions, visit www.sparetheair.org

This AirAlert is provided by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
Thank you for doing your part to Spare the Air!

Another jinx = more fires? They seem to have jinxed themselves with their last spare the air day announcement.

If baaqmdwtf can guarantee less then 80 degree temps, I’ll walk to school.
If cccta can provide reasonable schedules so I’m not baking in hot temps waiting 2 hours for the next bus to take my groceries home, I’d ride the bus for errands.
Until such times, I will be driving. I just got my car smogged and looking at the results, for a 10 year old car it is practically a zero emission vehicle. Until EV are economic or alternatives are convenient, I will be sticking to personal internal combustion locomotion. That is all. [End of file]

I see the jack booted thugs are at it again. Must be in preparation for them taking away our barbecues on Labor Day.

How can tomorrow be another spare the air day if it’s not a holday where everyone is either burning fires or having a BBQ?

Dang, I havn’t BBQ since Sunday. I’ll keep my house cool tomorrow when I fire up the BBQ once again. The brew is getting cold and the meat is in the sauce tonight baby. When it is hot outside I would rather smell the hickory Vs the auto fumes, after a couple of beers who cares we only live once. Hope there are no grass fires to ruin my hickory bbq smell. FU$# You Air Quality District. I bet you were not around when then Native Amemericans ruled the Bay Area. And thank you Mr Govenator, I just paid my $457 to you for your BS smog and vehicle reg, PS my truck is PAID for and you keep screwing me. I bet you still can’t pass a budget, neither can all your buddies, what a bunch of Bull S%3@ political cronies, you all need to loss the election and get some smiple common sence folks in there to do your jobs.. Why not do like the City of Concord and try to raise my taxes you Ass H@#. GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY AND SCREW YOUR NATIVES. Were getting rid of Fellon Allen, Keep it up Concord and see who is next.
