Didn’t feel a thing.

3 Radar August 31, 2010 at 6:50 PM

I didn’t feel it all in Pittsburg. According to Google Earth it was located at Buchanan field.

4 Jb August 31, 2010 at 6:51 PM

Felt a quick jolt near Pleasant Hill BART

5 Mr. Mayor August 31, 2010 at 6:51 PM

I didn’t feel a thing either, and I’m sitting down. Weird that it was so big, but not many people felt it.

6 2BITS August 31, 2010 at 6:53 PM

First first first. Oh sorry. Wrong blog.

7 Leigh August 31, 2010 at 6:53 PM

I felt it. I’m the only one in my house who did though. Water in the fishtank started swooshing around. Good little jolt.

8 jason August 31, 2010 at 6:54 PM

I felt it in martinez

9 NoLongerAmusing August 31, 2010 at 6:56 PM

I felt it, barely, while upstairs, but was not felt downstairs. Had to make sure it was a quake at the USGS site. Live near Ayers & Clayton road.

10 Not Rattled August 31, 2010 at 6:59 PM

I live in Concord. Felt a minor shake.

11 2BITS August 31, 2010 at 7:00 PM

Embarrased about the last post.  Not first. Anyway my 88 year old dad just called me to see if I felt it.  He did not feel it but my niece from San Jose called him to see if he was OK.

12 Mr. E August 31, 2010 at 7:02 PM

Also felt it in Martinez though I also was the only one in my house who felt it. One good wiggle of my old house and that was it.

13 Dannie August 31, 2010 at 7:06 PM

My husband and I both felt it. I was on the back deck and our deck creeked and the table vibrated for like a second. Then I asked my husband if we just had and earthquake and he was like Ya, I think so although nothing really moved, It was like a split second. I guess we are due

USGS making up earthquakes to justify their jobs again. :)

15 jacobseagall August 31, 2010 at 7:11 PM

Boo, I didn’t feel it here in Turtle Creek. And I was in the ideal earthquake experiencing position: lying down.

16 Rene August 31, 2010 at 7:12 PM

Definitely felt it in Pleasant Hill – a big jolt!

17 PTown August 31, 2010 at 7:13 PM

Felt it over on Elderwood in Pleasant Hill. Just a quick jolt…

18 Tod Gomes August 31, 2010 at 7:16 PM

Felt it in P Hill. You had to be sitting down. Minor shake/jolt.

19 Atticus Thraxx August 31, 2010 at 7:39 PM

Damn.I thought my portrait of Mao Tse Tung was crooked. Usually leans left.

20 ppatriot August 31, 2010 at 7:45 PM

I didn’t feel it , but my dog was acting wierd , and now I know why.

21 Gina August 31, 2010 at 8:19 PM

Didn’t feel it!!!

22 Antler August 31, 2010 at 8:24 PM

Sounds like we’re outsourcing our earthquake experiences to Pleasant Hill !!!

23 Dumb Human August 31, 2010 at 8:28 PM

Our cat hid under the bed this morning. The thought that he might have sensed an earthquake was coming, crossed my mind.

24 EdiBirsan August 31, 2010 at 8:49 PM

I was over at Hillcrest and thought it was just the old floor creaking I was standing on.

25 bill sawyers August 31, 2010 at 8:51 PM

And I missed it, we need a 4.2 as so I could feel it, been awhile.
In North Concord

26 Me August 31, 2010 at 9:04 PM

Felt it on treat and oak grove. My whole couch jumped from west t east end to end very quick as if my room mates husky bumped he couch. Once I saw no Pitt bull or husky near the couch I started waiting for an aftershock I was disappointed.

Thanks mayor for confrming my suspicion and being fast on the report

I didnt feel it but, friends told me it knocked the parmesan off the table @ Olive Garden.

28 Soxtiger August 31, 2010 at 10:15 PM

Quick jolt over in PH Gregory Gardens..I mean, quick as blink and you missed it..We’ve had stronger ones.

29 hankster August 31, 2010 at 10:21 PM

This is the first I’ve heard of the quake. I was at John Muir Med Center Concord at that time, 3rd floor, and didn’t feel feel a thing. I don’t think anyone on that floor noticed any shaking.

30 McNutcase August 31, 2010 at 10:26 PM

I was at a store in the Park and Shop, and didn’t feel a thing.

31 Mimi August 31, 2010 at 10:43 PM

Was sitting in class at Brandman U on the 2nd flr but didn’t feel anything. Dang!

32 The Original Anon E. Mouse August 31, 2010 at 10:43 PM

Hmm, usually I or the dog notice these things. Nothing. But than again I was engrossed in my remedial algebra and trig. It all comes back so quickly, I will be done with my class in 6 weeks :D
Oh, this reminds me, I still have to get an emergency supply of bottled water/canned food. I keep putting it off. Hopefully the big ‘one’ doesn’t hit soon.
Then again if I’m in this ’40s house when it happens I will be crushed under all the plaster and poor construction anyway …

33 NiteMom August 31, 2010 at 11:02 PM

I didnt feel a thing and didnt know anything about it until I read it here. My dog didnt move, my fish tank did nothing, the guinea pig slept and the hamster ate. Nothing here…. :-)

34 Anon August 31, 2010 at 11:07 PM

Felt it in Pleasant Hill across from the mall. I was sitting on my bed, it was minor but enough to bounce me – two quick jolts.

35 misnomer August 31, 2010 at 11:18 PM

I’m in N Concord, and didn’t feel it

36 Ian August 31, 2010 at 11:49 PM

I totally felt it. House shook just a bit, not much, enough to make my tv sway (wouldn’t hear that in 89)
But no doubt, it was felt in the Monument area.

37 Spearheadmon September 1, 2010 at 7:24 AM

I did feel this quake, shook the house a bit thought it was just the wind kicking up, Thanks for posting the info on it.

38 ConcordCatLady September 1, 2010 at 8:10 AM

Confused about the time… it says
Date-Time Wednesday, September 01, 2010 at 01:26:55 UTC
Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 06:26:55 PM at epicenter

So was it the middle of the night, or yesterday evening? Why the two times?

39 Mr. Mayor September 1, 2010 at 8:50 AM

The top time is Universal Coordinated Time, which is overseas. The bottom time shows our time, which was 6:26pm.

40 Shasta Daisy September 1, 2010 at 9:01 AM

Nope…didn’t feel it. I was driving to Walnut Creek to get my “gelato fix” for the day.

41 ConcordCatLady September 1, 2010 at 9:21 AM

In that case I was out riding and did not feel it.

42 MacawLady September 1, 2010 at 9:50 AM

It felt like a pretty violent side-to-side shaking here. Of course, we live in a mobile home, and right across the street from Buchanan Field, so we were right on top of it. I’m surprised it was only 3.2….it definitely felt like a bigger quake here! Our pet birds were still squawking half an hour later.

43 lauren September 1, 2010 at 11:36 AM

I had no idea, however I was glued to the TV last night watching earthquake specials. WEIRD!

44 Pleasant Jenny September 1, 2010 at 2:31 PM

Only those of us sitting at the dinner table felt it. It was quick like when a big truck is going too fast past your house.

45 RunnerDope September 1, 2010 at 2:35 PM

I was at the airport at 6:30 on the East ramp and didn’t feel a thing.

46 Meangal September 1, 2010 at 6:08 PM

Not to worry, that was only Helen Roseville Fellon packing her bags. I’ll bet you PENNYS she gets S*#t, I mean VIP seating with all her buds at the symphony at the Plaza event next week while we the people sit in the back on the wet grass. I know bring water ballons and cool her off as a going away celibration. Helen doesn’t deserve a welcome after what she has done to our city.
