Natural gas leak near Pleasant Hill BART

Friday morning, 9:20am: Authorities just arrived on scene of a natural gas leak near the Pleasant Hill BART station.

The leak, which was caused when a construction crew broke a high-pressureĀ gas line, happened at Coggins Drive and Jones Road.

Police have road blocks set up, and detours available while the fire department and PG&E try to fix the leak.

UPDATE, 12pm: The leak has been fixed by PG&E.

I wonder what the bill to the contractor is? I’m sure they’re heavily insured for these events.

if you ever have to do any digging call the usa underground locator service
1-800-642-2444. its free, all the utilitys in your area will come out and mark to prevent you from killing your self. even if your digging post holes for a fence its worth the call, theres electric and gas lines everywhere.

It looks like PGE hadn’t marked the main correctly… oops, no charge to the contractor, it’s on them.
